sad to say it but a Liv and Toon legend is gonna take you down. You'll be ok this season as Reading and Fulham are even worse defenders than you'se. Next season i am puting £100 on the Toon getting relegated. A better wager would be wether King Kev actually sticks it for 18 months from now. All the signs are there and unless major surgery is performed it'll be 1988-89 all over again...

In that sense we're a lot like Liverpool. There's another team that is woefully underperforming, just at a different level.

Chicken and Dragoner - I'm really glad that both of you share my opinion on Cacapa and Taylor. Every f*cking time again people say Cacapa makes mistakes, but Taylor oh no.
1st; They both make mistakes it is as simple as that. Cacapa his mistakes are every time again blown up nd Taylor his miastakes are going into a closed box (no one can mention them anymore).

2nd; Cacapa played a few very bad games (Pompey in particular) but has been also a few times outstanding (Tottenham; Chelsea; Arsenal).

3rd; I hate it when Taylor starts to laugh with his stupid mistakes (like on Arsenal, where he completely misjudged a stupid bounce, he did it again on Saturday). It was a corner from which the 2nd Carew goal came. Okay the marking out after the corner was not his fault, but if he defended well in the first place, there would have been NO CORNER at all.

4th; Cacapa has already proven that he is capable of being the leader of a defence. You can't tell me that it was just luck in Lyon. 5 years as captain in a team full of classy players. I say let's partner him with Faye and give them a couple of games to get to know eachother and I think we all might be surprised of what they are capable of.

Is that also not one of our problems; how many times did we play with the same defence. We all said that a team needs time to gel, well I can say that that is very important for a defence especially!!!!

It's worrying looking into our current situation. We need results, positive results but we don't need them to turn out instantly. Looking at the fixture, we might end up with nothing after 3 more matches. However, I still think we should manage to survive, not because we play good but because those team below us are far worse and lack of options. I might be too bold with this statement, we could as well relegated and deservedly so for playing without direction, without objective, without confidence and without spirit.

I believe, we are in relegation battle now, no doubt about it. If you try to deny it, it won't help. We must be realistic and each point right now counts. I just hope KK got it right with the people at his disposal. HE has full squad to choose from now. Get the players to perform, gain points and move forward.

Kash2 "Taylor had a solid game on saturday" again more shit talk! he didnt have a solid game, half the time he was in completely the wrong position and nowhere to be seen. Your analysis of a Centre Backs performance is completely wrong

kash2 you talk shit, taylor makes up for his mistake!? he was non existent in the last match so clean your eyes out. Cacapa is noticed for his mistakes because he is generally in the right place at the right time so there is more chance of him making mistakes. Unlike Taylor who has NO CLUE about positioning and is as SLOW, if not SLOWER than Cacapa despite being around 10 years younger.

I have noticed a pattern, if Taylor has a non-existent performance and is not seen much throughout the game, and Cacapa is seen throughout the game and makes a few mistakes, some idiots on here will believe Taylor performed better out of the two simply because you cant REMEMBER him to make a mistake. How stupid is that. The reason you dont remember him making a mistake is because he was nowhere near the ball in the first place. WAKE UP.

The thing is - People wont be saying we are too good to go down because quite simply - we arent that good and our team has shown that this season being unable to beat the likes of wigan, derby etc..

My two pennies on the Cacapa/Taylor debate...

TBH I'm not totally convinced by either of them - I do think that Taylor's positional sense is lacking somewhat though, and I also think that it is because of this that Cacapa is getting pulled out of position a lot.

I think Taylor get's off lightly for this and Cacapa gets the most stick because Taylor is a (half) Geordie.

Taylor though is always prone to an absolute howler - something I'm sure he will grow out of in time - but for now I reckon Cacapa and Faye has the makings of a decent, solid, dependable partnership.

One thing that really annoys me is that Stevie T always seems to laugh it off when he makes a mistake, and what's even worse is no one gives him a rocket for it - that's what we need - a (dare I say it) Roy Keane type figure to dish out some serious discipline on the pitch.

where do people get this REAL manager from, stop being a bloody child playing champ manager, ashley hasnt tricked us all trying to keep this new manager who is going to come in and make the garden rosey again...

ffs he brought keegan in because he thought that we would give him time, so that he could save his pennies, it must have dauned on him now that he must spend in the summer otherwise his investment is fkd.

how people have turned on keegan already, he has the worst bunch of over hyped players to use in the premierleague.

support keegan otherwise the whole rigmerol of getting another manager in, just to have to come in and bring in 3rd rate players because they havent had a chance to selectively pick the players that they need at the club...

sven got lucky ffs and had good foundations to build on at mancity, none of which keegan really has, we may be bringing in 'great' youth players but this does not help the club at the moment, wehave to give it time.

TIME

not playing BUTT would be the recipe for not being relegated

Andreas, Taylor had a solid game on Saturday. But Cacapa was all over the place. Every game I see with Cacapa and Taylor, I see Cacapa the worse of the 2. Taylor does make mistakes, but he tends to make up for them. He's the most consistent CB over 90 mins that we have. We missed Fayes dominance on Saturday and we need a hell of a lot more pace and composure through the side!

will you guys give the alan shearer thing a rest?
Kevin will have newcastle utd firing again. the players we have are patently not good enough for this league, maybe they should be playing in the championship.

Kash2, nice to see a fair opinion on the Taylor v Capaca issue.

I personally disagree and think young Steve is a liability atm (I do think he'll become a world class CB but he's not at the moment in my opinion). He gets away with a lot of mistakes whereas Capaca/Rozy (when he was here) instantly are singled out for all sorts of stuff (even stuff Taylor or others really starts).
