Chris Mort hasn’t been saying too much lately but he was interviewed today by the Newcastle Journal and says again, something we all knew, that any talk of a takeover of Newcastle United is just complete rubbish.

Chris Mort - getting tired of all the made-up takeover rubbish
While Mort is keen to see some stability at the club after years of managerial incompetence, he is annoyed by those he feels have deliberately been trying to undermine things at the boardroom level ever since the takeover last summer.

Of course he’s angry…
And Ashley couldn’t sell now, even if he wanted to - well, not for a profit anyway…

What did he add Ed?
Anyway, I hope that the club is taking legal action against papers writing nonsense just to proof that the takeover talk isn’t true.

Even if Mike Ashley did sell now, he has stabilised the clubs finances. Two months ago we were £100M in debt… now we aren’t!

There is no smoke without fire. Mort is defending his job. If a takeover were to take place, no doubt Chris would need to find a new job, no?
Mike Ashley should sell to someone far more serious about football, not this junk he has put on display for us.
I hate being negative but if the truth is so, then it is so. That is the difference between you and these fantasists.
