The news today from the Newcastle Evening Chronicle is that José Enrique has not been 100% fit since the Spaniard came off with a calf injury in the FA Cup defeat at Arsenal on January 26.
Jose Enrique, is looking for start tomorrow
But apparently Jose is fit now and is looking to Kevin Keegan for a place at left back in the side tomorrow. Charles N’Zogbia of course was responsible for Wayne Rooney’s first goal last Saturday against Manchester United when he inexplicably went to sleep at the far post.
Rooney had far too much space and put the ball home unchallenged. Whether that will be enough to convince Keegan to give our natural left back a start tomorrow – we don’t know.
But if Enrique, who turned 22 last month, is fit he should play, because when he has played this season he’s looked the part. Jose has only appeared 12 times for the Magpies so far this season and it will be an important position against Blackburn, because David Bentley is likely to be on the right wing.
David will be a challenge for whomever starts at left back tomorrow. We hope it’s Jose and we think Charles can fit in as an attacking central midfielder tomorrow, since we need to attack Blackburn from the start, if we are to get all 3 points, which we so badly need.
Comments welcome.

Comment #1About time. Must we wait till we are this precariously close to the drop zone to make this change?

Comment #2Michael for once we agree it is about time the lad started
But there must be a solid reason for KK and Sam before him to keep ignoring Enrique who every time he has played has been impressive

Harper
Beye Taylor Faye Enrique
Miner Barton Emre N’Zogbia
Owen Martins
Subs: Forster, Edgar, Duff, Lua Lua, Carroll
I know Barton is not popular but he has the ability to take blackburn apart and is good at helping out the defence. Him and Emre together were in my opinion good against Boro and they are the most naturally balanced and easily most gifted midfield partnership we have currently at our disposal.
Also our paciest front two Owen and Martins agains the slow Ooijer and Samba (Nelsen is injured) and despite recent poor showings from Taylor our Strongest back four.
Cacapa would be dominated airially and done for pace by Santa Cruz, McCarthy and Roberts or even Derbyshire.
P.S. Geremi shouldnt be in our club let alone our starting line up, I’m getting pretty worried about some of you who seen to have forgotten his previous ” Efforts ” for our football club.
He was well outshone by Nicky Butt at the start of this season and was given both barrells on this blog by many on us.

Comment #12I just think Duff has more experience to play in the middle and feed the strikers. Zog is better at running down the wing and putting in crosses, they can swap over from time to time

Comment #16If Smith or Butt start I am gonna have to sniper them both from the stands. Or maybe we could lazer them in the eyes and blind them both (ONly Joking!!!)
I swear to god the pair must have clauses in their contracts or something! If I see Butt hoof the ball 100 metres up the pitch to the oppositions central defenders one more time this season i am gonna start supporting my local 3rd division side because at least you dont turn up their on a Saturday and expect good football to be played!!!

Comment #19Craigg’s lineup i reckon is by far the best except possibly duff for n’zog.
Taylor has been playing shite and does sometimes make the most stupid mistakes, he’s reminding more and more of titus (all the attributes but prone to big mistakes) but at least he’d put his body on the line for the club before we get someone better in.

Comment #29Geremi was good for his country AT RIGHT BACK. he was crap all season at center-mid. if we’re going to play him based on his form with his country, we better play him in the same position as he did with them!
Toon for life.

Comment #30Jon you idiot. He’s the only player i’d keep in the team if i had a choice, same for most people. His passion is great, we need that. Man United tore him apart but Man United tear everyone apart really. He’s the first to clap the crowd after a heavy defeat too. True passionate lad.

Comment #32Think we should try to play both Faye and Cacapa, my team against Blackburn would be:
Harper
Beye Cacapa Faye Enrique
Milner N’Zogbia Barton Duff
Owen Martins
Know Barton played really bad against manu, but would give him a new chance as I think Geremi has been bad all season.

Comment #33Jon, you are right. Taylor has been poor for a lot of the season. I think the only way he gets in the team sheet is because he is a local hero. Too often he gets a free pass from the fans that others in the squad don’t get.

Comment #34What about:
——–Harper——–
Beye – Geremi – ???? – Enrique
Milner – Faye – Duff – Nzogbia
—Owen —- Martins —-
Replace ???? with one of Taylor, Rozehnal or Edgar. I’d love to see Edgar get a shot, but I’ve gotta think the management, who see him train every day, think he’s not ready yet. Whoever plays there better be supported by Faye when we’re defending, or we might leak a couple.

Comment #35Wanna see Martins, Enrique, Emre, Carroll, Edgar to play/start as we know they can play big part. Occasionally wanna see Viduka, Geremi,Carr, Kadar, Lua Lua as i honestly know they just can start/ play some part. Won’t see Butt,Smith,Barton,Ameobi as i’ve had seen enough to justify them not involve anymore.
