Keegan – We Haven’t Started Yet

While the gossip press do all they can to unsettle things at Newcastle United, it looks like Kevin has settled in well for the 3rd time at the club, and he now just needs that win to get things off the ground, and get the press off his back.

Kevin Keegan – a win will turn things around

Kevin said this afternoon:

“We need to win a football match to stop everyone saying: “You haven’t won a match since I came here”. That’s fair comment because we haven’t. The stick doesn’t bother me but it does bother me that we haven’t won a match.”

“I wouldn’t say I have galvanised the club but we have come in and changed a few things and I think we will get our rewards for those changes. We are more or less firefighting at the moment as opposed to developing.”

“We are trying to put something right and then move to stage two. Sometimes there is no quick fix. We have to take the cynicism on the chin. We have our destiny in our hands.”

“I’m a little bit older, a bit wiser, but I’m the same person. I think I have the same enthusiasm, although I’m maybe not shouting from the rooftops like I did last time because this is not the time to do that. We are in stage one of a redevelopment.”

“I’m really enjoying it at a club I love and I enjoy working with the players. When we start to get one or two results, I will enjoy it more.”

“The support of the players at a club is vital. You can’t have it any other way. If the players do not have confidence in the manager, or the other way round, it is a recipe for disaster. I do not think either is the case here. Change takes time, that is the reality.”

“’In the first two or three weeks, some of the players thought the training was quite hard and I felt we were training them quite lightly. If Damien thinks the training is harder, wait until preseason! We haven’t started yet.”

Great words from the boss, and we really hope we can put to bed tomorrow the fact that we have not won since Kevin came on board for the third time at the club some 7 weeks ago.

But if we can just survive this season then watch out – because Kevin will be really motivated – and will get the support – to bring in some class players in the summer.

And as you can see – the squad will be fitter than ever before next season starts.

For those at the game tomorrow give a shout for all those fans who – for one reason or another – cannot be there – and let’s support the team for the full 90 minutes so we can get that elusive win. :D

Comments very welcome.

There is a good thing about these horrible results were getting. If Mike ashley thought a couple of players might do the trick then he now knows its not the case, the man can’t be dumb and knows he must back keegan in the summer like sven has been backed at man city in his first summer in charge. Absolutely f’ing brilliant today to see the new manager and some of the squad coming out and saying that Fat Sam’s training and fitness standards were way beloew par!! For all those chumps out there who believed that The Idiot was the The Messiah in the training and fitness department then go and chew on that one! It’s great that Allardyce is finally being shown as who he really is: A well below average, lying, useless chump of a man.
