Owen – Nervousness Throughout Newcastle Side

The Newcastle captain Michael Owen has admitted today there is both a lack of confidence and nervousness in the Newcastle side at the moment, and only a win will correct that.

Michael Owen – we need his goals

One of the things that is disturbing, is that in those 6 games we’ve conceded 16 goals and only scored 3, with two of those coming from Owen. We need to score more and concede less – sounds so familiar doesn’t it?

In the 5 league games so far under Kevin we’ve lost 3 of those badly – last week 5-1 against Manchester United, 4-1 the game before at Aston Villa and a 3-0 loss at the Emirates. It’s done nothing but make our goal difference just hopeless at -22, which is the 3rd worst in the Premier league and one of the worst we’ve ever had.

Michael said today:

“There is nervousness throughout the side. We need a win and the sooner the better. As soon as we get that I think confidence will come flooding back.”

There’s a couple of ways to look at our poor record over at least the lats couple of months. One is to look and say we’re in big trouble the other way is to say we’re due a win. Certainly 3 points tomorrow will lift the mood on the training ground and in the City of Newcastle big time – there’s just no doubt about that.

Michael continued:

“We’ve got an awful lot of games left and we aren’t in the relegation zone at the moment,”

“We’re not at panic stations but we are obviously well aware we need to get a result – and fast.”“This game against Blackburn on Saturday is one you look at and think Newcastle at home should be getting something out of it.”

With just 2 league wins in the last 18 games we must be due for a win. Certainly a win tomorrow will lift the spirits on the training pitch and in the City of Newcastle, that’s an absolute certainty.

That’s what we have to hope for tomorrow, and that the boys start the game all out, and with a positive attitude. An early goal would also help.

Where’s that hypnotist? 😀

Comments always welcome.

Leo – you’re right – it was out – and then when I looked at it – it had only the first paragraph in it – so I recreated it. The fault was this end – not sure exactly what happened – and I know you put a comment in. 😀

Finally one of the team admits they they’re all quaking in their boots during a match, probably because they don’t have any faith in each other, I beleive this was brought about by Fat Sam trying to play a defensive game all the time in turn convincing the players they were no good if all they could do was try and defend for 90 mins.

I hope Martins gets a game and starts to win back the form of last season when he was really good, with KK’s attack minded play and the pace of Martins we might see a little more of a direct game being played in terms of attacking.
The lads just need to shake off the Fat Sam stamp and realise they can go out and fill the net when they want, cos that’s what they’re here to do – WIN GAMES.
Howay the TOON, give the lads the POSITIVE support they need in every situation tomorrow

We need a new age manager for this new age of football. I know this is not the point being portrayed here but KK’s appointment was just papering up the cracks with black and white stripped wallpaper. We all love him and want him to do well, but he will fail and quit like he also has. UNtil we can learn to rust someone else for a long period of time, we’re fooked. Breaks my heart.

Is there any truth that there is a big announcement at St James’s this afternoon? Betfairs forum have something running about it but the jokers are getting in on the act.

Martins, Carroll and Owen to start on Saturday – to win a football match, you have to score goals!! With three goal scorers on the pitch, Blackburn wont know who to mark and we might, just might manage to get three points.

Smith and Butt should be packed off to Whitley Bay for the weekend, just to give us a fighting chance.

Peter Hughes, you are talking like we are going down with no hope? WE ARE NOT GOING TO GO DOWN! Im pig sick of all the negativity, we WILL stay in the PL and we WILL build a strong side to challenge for a top 6 finish next season, and the RIGHT MANAGER, ie KK, will get rid of the shit and make us great again. KEEP THE FOOKIN FAITH MAN!!!!

Early news is that Enrique will start tomorrow and probably Smith! with Oba on the bench.

1 good 1 bad but Oba’s close to playing again is the best news.

If i bet 100$ on Newcastle i could win 260.

This business of defiying Obafemi Martins is becoming ignorant. A player who cannot read a game, too erratic and only score lucky goals.

Micheal, I’ll settle for him scoring another 17 lucky goals this season as he did last!
