16 Year-Old Sean Geddes Interesting Newcastle

There is news today that Newcastle United are one of the clubs interested in Walsall’s 16 year old young midfield star Sean Geddes.

Chris Mort – strategy of bringing in good youngsters to the club

It turns out that several Barclays Premier League clubs are interested in signing Sean Geddes, the 16 year old Walsall midfield player.

Newcastle United, Blackburn and Bolton are three clubs that are said to be in the running for the youngster. Geddes has already turned down a potential contract with Walsall, who are currently 5th in League One.

Apparently he has been training regularly with Manchester United, but they are not now in the queue to sign the youngster.

We expect our recruitment team is working on this one, and if Sean is good enough we hope he will be arriving at Newcastle United in the summer.

Comments welcome.

Sign him up if he’s a good prospect
this is a so much more logical strategy from the new regime to sign young talents from abroad like Kadar, Baheng, Zambrela, Soderberg, Krul

Yet also keeping an english base to the future team Tozer, Forster, Barnes (Hopefully completed in the summer) and also the young lads Madine & Geddes who must be good and hopefully will be signed up soon.

To be honest Still cant understand why we signed Soderberg as Krul and Forster are going to be great competing for the No1 spot just like Harper and Given have done for many years.

All we need now is for the overpaid tits in the current first team to amass enough points to stay up and most of them to leave with a bit of dignity intact, Get back in europe and maybe win something in the next 2-3 years and then KK will go as a hero leaving by helicopter from the centre circle of SJP (Again) after sticking fingers up at Andy Dunn, Jimmy Greaves, Mick Dennis ETC.

Then we can watch this potentially brilliant young team playing Champions league football at St James’ in 5 years overseen by then manager Alan Shearer, Assistant Rob Lee, and Coaches Gary Speed, Les Ferdinand, Shaka Hislop, Lee Clark and Stevie Watson (Dreaming…Again)

Oh and of course Terry McDermott will still be hanging on as whatever he does now Senior Joke teller i think is his official title.

Leo david platt was rejected by man utd as a kid
And they allowed our own legendary peter beardsley leave after playing 1 firsat team game

Everton released Jakielka and Baines as kids yet paid a fortune to get them back this season after admitting their mistake
We’ve been there a few times over the years aswell !!!

Thousands of players are rejected by the big clubs every year. If he’s started to shine we should bring him in before the other clubs start to take interest.

I’m loving our new youth policy. If nothing else it makes excellent financial sense. If they don’t make the grade we can still sell them at inflated prices (providing we stay in the premier league) and if they do we’ve scored a multi-million pound player on the cheap.

Mort and Ashley have obviously come here with a long-term strategy. Looks excellent for the future.

Manky Utd are not always right. Why assume because they do not want to register a youngster he will not be good enough. We must get over this idea that they are right about everything. Give this Geddes a go. At Newcastle he may flourish. The Tyne does not stink like the Manchester ship canal.

Newcastle need to sign up this kid Geddes, I played with Sean before and when you watch him play it’s like your watching Paul Scholes when he was a kid. Newcastle is the right team to take younger to the level
