Good News- Milner Fit For Birmingham

There’s some good news on the Newcastle front for a change as it looks like James Milner will be fit for the Birmingham game.

James Milner – looks like he’ll be ready for Birmingham

Newcastle United’s long time and very recognizable physiotherapist Derek Wright told the Evening Chronicle today:

“James had an X-ray after the match on Saturday and, fortunately, this showed there was no break and no damage to the metatarsal.”

“But his foot is badly bruised and he will have a scan in the next 48 hours which will give us a more thorough investigation.”

“We put him on crutches to go home to Newcastle so that there was no weight going on the injury, but he has always been a quick healer in the past and he has the desire to play.”

“And while injuries of this type can keep some players out for a couple of weeks, we are hoping that he will be OK for Birmingham next Monday night.”

Derek Wright – great servant of the club

That’s good news because James is a good lad and gives his all for the team. It would be nice if we could see one or two of those thundering goals he scored last season.

James has appeared 136 times for Newcastle, and he’s had 98 starts for the club. He just turned 22 years old last January so he will get better.

Comments always welcome.

Jimmy Milner is Brazilian, we wouldn’t sell him for £20M, on the wing he’s brilliant, Jimmy, Jimmy Milner!!!

I hope the boy plays, not only cos I think he’s good, but if it means Germi plays instead….. well that’s unthinkable given his recent form in black and white!

Is this good news? Except from his fighting spirit he is useless. But okay if others played with the heart and spirit of Milner we might have had more points.

I can’t see the Brum game on Monday, cause I will be on excursion with my students in Prague and Boedapest.

I love Milner. He’s solid and reliable. He’s also one of very few of our team that plays for 90 minutes in a manner that suggests he wants to win. It’s wrong to call him useless. He’s very good for lots of different reasons.

I think you are unfair in your comment Obafan, but everyone’s entitled to their opinion. You know we would miss him like hell if he wasn’t available for the Birmingham match.

Davies – I agree that he fights 90 minutes long and that he is an example for others (Smith, Butt, N’Zogbia, …). But I just think that he isn’t clever enough to become a good player like some of you think he already is. I agree that we need fighters in our team, esp now during this ugly period. Let’s hope that every player has waked up last Saturday (and KK too) and that they from now on will fight for their place in the EPL.

Leo – It is very unsporty to ask for someone to be injured. But if you would go to the church to light up a candle to have SMith injured I would be the first to join you!!!!

Now I understand why he came off. Well here’s hoping he IS fit for brum game if only for his spirit. Looks like gives a shit. More than rest most of time.

He shows an element of care that is missing from the rest of our bloody team.

Aye, his crossing is not the best all the time, but if gets 1 in 2or3or4 in, better than nowt.

Obafan – please do some scouting while you are over there. A Puskas or two will do, perhaps a Masopust from Prague?

Eric – I will do my best 😉 cause I know we can use every single player. Except Smith and Butt, but those 2 always play. No, I will not start again with an improvised story like the one from last Saturday 😉 .

Leo -I was in Prague 3 years ago and it is a very beautiful city, the most beautiful city I’ve ever been. If you search a city to make a citytrip than I would tell you to go to Prague. I’ve heard that Boedapest is as beautiful as Prague 😉 .

Was in Prague in 1963 and Budapest in 1965. Prague is beautiful and on the beer we paid (on excahnge rate) about 20p per litre. Still got a collection of Sparta Prague badges and pennants somewhere in the shed. Wonder if present NUFC could beat them now? There was a very good bar down by the riverside in Budapest. They still talked of Puskas and Koscis and knew of wor Jackie! They knew where Newcastle was but not Chelsea. Howay the lads for Monday.

Hope Milner wil improve. Still prefer Gordon Hughes though. His 100 yards was Olympic standard you know. And he could take the ball with him. He was loyal and gutsy and pacy and stayed a part-time miner too!

    It’s official!!
According to stats from Samaritans UK, Newcastle Utd is now at the head of the Topper Index league. After a woeful season Newcastle have moved into top spot, moving Sunderland into second place. Indeed after the announcement of Newcastle’s team sheet at Anfield there were a reported three cases of overdosing in the Tyneside area, thankfully none proved to be fatal.
    A spokesman for Samaritans commented
“We’ve had a larger volume of callers from the North East than usual, however history shows that this number dramatically decreases in the summer months.”

thats big shame hammy, nothing more horrible to hear that the failure of our club on the field is causing so much depression around the country, whats more unfortunate is that we are out topping sunderland.

Not just Milner…the whole team has got what it takes but their lack of guts and interest is the problem.
Even when we conceded that first unlucky goal against Liverpool we were still playing like it was 0-0.
Major clear out is needed in the summer
    Out:Smith,Butt,Carr,Ameobi,Cacapa,Ramage, Duff,
    In:Pandev,Arshavin,Gomis,McGeady,Kalouda, Bruno Alves,

Sorry no place for Milner and Zoggy in my team cause they would have to earn it.

Good that Milner is fit for Birmingham, it’s a must-win really now, especially after Wigan getting a draw yesterday. Martins needs to play for me too as he was the best player on the pitch at Anfield in the final 20 minutes – after Gerrard and Torres had gone off.

Obafan its people like you that make me despise the armchair fan.

Great news, maybe that England call up is still on for the boy, he deserves it as he has been brilliant all season and Cappello was at anfield to see Harper at his best, give him a cap as well because he was just unlucky to be behind the best goalkeeper in the world for the last 11 years.

Obafan your comment makes a mockery of the title of a previous post named:

“If Only Our Players Had Fans’ Commitment”

Commitment you wouldnt know the meaning of the word.

What wrong with critiscising players who aren up to par and managers, staff, owner and chairman for that matter (almost everyone about our club). Its doesnt make any of us less of a fan for doing so.

As i said before Craigg, take the blinkers off.

exactly tom toon, if you go to the cinema to see a film and its lousey, you will complain and voice you opinion, or go to the theatre and its rubbish you will also complain, if an individual actor/ress is really bad then people will say so….

“What wrong with critiscising players who aren up to par and managers, staff, owner and chairman for that matter”

What can the criticism achieve like i said we cannot alter the playing staff until the summer and the manager is definately up to par as are Aurthur Cox, Steve Round, Paul Barron and Chris Hughton good coaching and backroom staff as they have all proved.

Did you really think we could Win Man Utd at home, Arsenal (Twice), Aston Villa and Liverpool away ??

And did you watch the blackburn or boro matches we should have won both by at least a couple of goals

Yes the bolton match was poor but they sat on their 18yard line and we had Rozenhal in centre midfield and Ameobi up front.

Have you thought before you type that Smith could be playing as Martins might not be 100% fit yet and viduka is injured.

Its probably Just like you jumped to conclusions about KK playing N’Zogbia at left back and later it emerged Enrique was injured.

Kevin Keegan despite what that idiot Michael says has never picked a squad on players with commitment and who he personally likes ala when he sold David Kelly and Brien Kilcline after we got promoted.

He picks players on quality and what they bring to the team, that is why smith and butt will be dropped as soon as Barton, Emre and Viduka are fit.

If Oba is fit to start then KK just doesnt rate him or think that he would click with Owen because he would not pick smith without good reason.

    This is a KK 11

    Beye Taylor Faye Enrique
    Milner Barton Emre N’Zogbia
    Owen Viduka

The team that a lot of us would have picked at the start of the season would be KKs first choice if everyone was fit a balanced team full of Power, pace and flair.

Tom_Toon you dont have to agree with me but im telling you that there is a valid reason why smith is starting.
