If it’s one thing you just have to admire about Kevin Keegan, it’s his honesty and positive attitude.
Kevin Keegan – ever positive attitude – you can’t look back, only forward
Yes, we know that’s two things – just testing. 😀
Here’s what Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan had to say today, regarding our remaining 9 league games this season:
“You have to get to a point when you say, ‘Don’t look back – let’s look at nine games left.â€
“There is Birmingham and Fulham, we have got Reading and Sunderland to come here and we know we have got to go to Spurs and Portsmouth. We have got Chelsea to come here as well.â€
“They are the games to focus on. The ones that have gone, disappointing as they have been, are confined to history now.â€
“We can only affect what is coming.”
Kevin Keegan still thinks his first win is all it takes to turn the tide, and start to clear the gloom and doom, and storm clouds gathering over the Tyneside club.
But there’s very good reason for that gloom and doom – 3 points from the last 36 points played for. That’s the worst winless run ever by Newcastle United in the Premier league.
We can double that points tally on Monday night, with a win at Birmingham.
“If you get a win, you get a smile on the players’ faces when they come in, and not this feeling of ‘Oh, not again’ and of them feeling sorry for themselves.â€
“Results make football clubs. You win a game and everything is okay.â€
“You build them up after losing, sometimes unluckily, but it is pretty tough on them.”
With three teams beneath us all losing today by a single goal, Monday night would be a great time for the team to register their first win under Kevin Keegan, since he rejoined Newcastle in mid-January.
That will definitely lift our Geordie spirits 😀
