Keegan – You Can’t Look Back – Only Forward

If it’s one thing you just have to admire about Kevin Keegan, it’s his honesty and positive attitude.

Kevin Keegan – ever positive attitude – you can’t look back, only forward

Yes, we know that’s two things – just testing. 😀

Here’s what Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan had to say today, regarding our remaining 9 league games this season:

“You have to get to a point when you say, ‘Don’t look back – let’s look at nine games left.”

“There is Birmingham and Fulham, we have got Reading and Sunderland to come here and we know we have got to go to Spurs and Portsmouth. We have got Chelsea to come here as well.”

“They are the games to focus on. The ones that have gone, disappointing as they have been, are confined to history now.”

“We can only affect what is coming.”

Kevin Keegan still thinks his first win is all it takes to turn the tide, and start to clear the gloom and doom, and storm clouds gathering over the Tyneside club.

But there’s very good reason for that gloom and doom – 3 points from the last 36 points played for. That’s the worst winless run ever by Newcastle United in the Premier league.

We can double that points tally on Monday night, with a win at Birmingham.

Keegan continued:

“If you get a win, you get a smile on the players’ faces when they come in, and not this feeling of ‘Oh, not again’ and of them feeling sorry for themselves.”

“Results make football clubs. You win a game and everything is okay.”

“You build them up after losing, sometimes unluckily, but it is pretty tough on them.”

With three teams beneath us all losing today by a single goal, Monday night would be a great time for the team to register their first win under Kevin Keegan, since he rejoined Newcastle in mid-January.

That will definitely lift our Geordie spirits 😀

Good results today for Newcastle as the three teams below them on the ladder lost. But the Monday match is a must win match but I hope the pressure does not get to the players.

oh man tomorrow will be murder, we have to go out ready to kill and get full throttle from the first minute and never look back. If we give the brummies time and space to play they will score and beat us. Now is the time to shine, tomorrow is like a cup final for us.
    I can’t fookin’ wait !!!!!!

Before we get too carried away, lets see whether SMITH starts because if KK picks him as a goalscorer, our chances of winning decrease by 50%

God help us! I’d gladly take a draw from Monday’s game. If we can do that and then beat Fulham we’ll invariably be fine, otherwise we’re looking buggered!

    ———–Harper————–
    Beye—Faye—Diatta—Jose
    Milner—–Barton——Duff
    Smith——Viduka—Martins

i would like to see diatta play alongside faye as they play together internationally, and smith because he can be good in matches where we need to really fight for everything e.g. arsenal

If by 60th minute he is still playing shite, sub him for zoggy or owen

    Beye Faye Kadar Enrique
    Troisi Lualua Barton N’Zogbia
    Martins Carroll

im unsure about carroll and kadar at senior level that is why i did not put them up.

Emre has made a lot of effort when he has played, and if he is fit i think him and barton may actually work in the middlle, i say this despite being very against this at the beginning of the season.

if we got kk we might aswell be very attacking, forget butt, he is a player that should only come in in the last half an hour of the game to break up the oppositions play

I dunno, i like him as a player because for me i want players to be very agressive (not malicious like Barton) and have a grea touch, Chermiti has both of these.

i dont think we got a chance of gettin zhirkov though, as soon as we show interest, someone like man city etc will join the race and we will lose. I think we could maybe sneak pander from schalke though, if we offered a decent amount he would be a good first teamer and jose could be back up

yeah i like players like that. if our players had a bit of aggression about them we wouldnt be stuck in the mess we are in now.

that the way i play football. maybe not the most skillful but im much quicker than everyone and have aggression, so if anyone megs me (which happens often) they dont get far. haha

no way jose, literally. Pander is a liability defensively, great cross n free kick but our defence is frail enough.

although schalke players will probably be hard to get now because of how well they have done in the CL, damn! we should have signed players like pander, biglia, sanchez in the summer, we probably could have got two out of three of them

exactly why i want him tom toon, i think you need at least two rb and two lb, one predominately defensive, and the other more attacking, jose seems more defensively capable to me

problem with dawson is he is awful when paired with a centre back who isnt english, when he is at the back with king, or even huddlestone he is one of the best, but with zokora, or kaboul he is terrible
