Kevin Keegan has reiterated that James Milner is still 2-3 weeks away from playing again.

James Milner - out for 2-3 weeks - shown here with his pal
Kevin Keegan told the Newcastle Evening Chronicle today:
“James is still two or three weeks away from being back with us.” “He will have a plastic boot on for another 10 days, and then he can start some light training.”
“He is a quick healer, and hopefully he will be back for our game with Portsmouth down there on April 12.” “But if not, he will definitely be back with us for the derby match with Sunderland the following week.â€
“Stephen Carr and Emre are 10 days away, and the funny thing is that they’re parallel in their comebacks, and could return on the same day.â€
It’s noticeable that this is a lot different from what Kevin said this morning, to the Journal, about these two players. Emre was still 2-3 weeks away, and would probably be fit for the Sunderland game on April 23rd. Carr was still 2-3 weeks away from fitness.
There’s a big difference between 10 days and 30 days, so it’s interesting to know how things changed so quickly today. Maybe they both finally confessed to hiding out in the treatment room.
Finally, to round out the injury situation Irish goalkeeper, Shay Given is now back after his groin operation in Munich, Germany yesterday.
Kevin talked about Shay:
“Shay’s had his operation, and it went very well.â€
We don’t expect to see Given again this season, and that would be good, because his first priority must be to get that groin fit for next season. We assume he will be given a set of strengthening exercises for it during the summer.
It must have been a frustraing season for our Irish goalkeeper, but there again it’s been a very frustrating season for everybody connected with Newcastle United. We don’t want another season like this for many years, that’s for sure.
That’s it - just 18 hours away from our first win in the league for over 3 months.
The Newcastle Brown Ale is waiting in the fridge.
Comments welcome.

Emre has no fight in him and wants away. Let him go. He cannot take a tackle. he always falls over and pleads to the ref for a foul holding his knee. Limps away. Big girls blouse. Should be a netball player.

3 toonypot // Mar 21, 2008 at 22:32

8 Spyro // Mar 21, 2008 at 23:10
Cider? dont touch the stuff, UNLESS its mixed with ribena and vodka to make a snakebite…if thats how you make it?!…thats how WE make it anyway. couple glasses and im dazed
9 Spyro // Mar 21, 2008 at 23:11
I aint nervous though, but i aint over confident like some people on here, we been in this position too many times over the years for me to EVER get excited after a half decent performance, you know what i mean
10 Tom_Toon // Mar 21, 2008 at 23:13
Snakebite is just beer and cider mate.
I know what ye mean. I love magners, shame its expensive!
11 Spyro // Mar 21, 2008 at 23:18
never tried any of them straight, but we buy strongbow when we make snakebites
We are predicted a 2-0 or 1-0 win on most betting sites…HAVE THEY EVER WATCHED US!? what are the chances of NUFC NOT conceding at least 1 goal.
To win we need to score at least two i think, i hope to be pleasently surprised though
12 Spyro // Mar 21, 2008 at 23:20
oh ok, well we add ribena and im talkin to my mate on msn and he said the ribena mixing with the alcohol makes it more powerful, not sure though, i just drink it lol

i know a great trick which can be done with cider and lager… i learned it when i worked in a nightclub, if you mix half cider and half lager into a shot glass and leave for a couple hours it will turn to jelly
so if someone in the nightclub asked for any shot, we would give them it jokingly and watch as they tried to drink it… made us laugh anyway… try it it works
that is the reason you get such hangovers when having snakebite, its because your body cannot digest it fast enough.

there are better ways of getting drunk quickly…
this sounds strange but it works, have a couple pints of lager then ask the barman for a packet of crisps or nuts, the oil in the food for some reason make you get drunk more…
dont know why its just a phenom
15 Leo // Mar 22, 2008 at 0:22
turbo’ shandy is also a good way of getting drunk, i think its cider half pint and a bottle of smirnoff ice
16 Leo // Mar 22, 2008 at 0:24
not cider, lager, and add a shot or two of vodka to it
17 Leo // Mar 22, 2008 at 0:27
another trick to make urself very drunk before a night out is to have a shot of golshagher (thts not the correct spelling) it has shards of gold in vodka and it means that the alcohol gets straight into your blood streem
18 Leo // Mar 22, 2008 at 0:28

28 Spyro // Mar 22, 2008 at 1:15
richie i think we will be the better team, but…
i think if we win it will be a late goal in the last 10 to 15 minutes e.g. 2-1
or
we will get a frustrating draw e.g. 2-2
29 Tom_Toon // Mar 22, 2008 at 1:17
