It’s a full 10 games since Oba Martins last found the net, and we are hoping he can break that bad run tomorrow. We are also hoping Newcastle bad run, 13 league games without a win, will also come to an end at 5 PM local time tomorrow.
Oba Martins – 10 games since he scored
Oba spoke the the Newcastle Evening Chronicle today:
“I am looking forward to a good night’s sleep if we do beat Fulham.” “Before the game, though, we can’t relax.”
“Wins are what we need and this is a great chance to get one.” “It was a good performance and we wanted three points.
“We will continue to try to do well in our game with Fulham.â€
Even though it’s been 10 games since Oba scored, it is not getting the Nigerian too worried, and of course he almost broke the cross-bar at Liverpool a couple of weeks ago, and that was from 40 yards.
“I know I came close against Birmingham but I’ll keep working hard and maybe a chance will come and change that.” “I’m happy with my game since I have been back involved in the last few games.”
“It has been very difficult for the team but you can feel it changing.†“We know if we keep the ball and play our football against Fulham we are the better team.”
“Fulham is a very big game.” “Even though we have got the point against Birmingham we can’t relax.” “We just need to keep on doing what we did against Birmingham – we’ve just got to keep going.â€
Tomorrow would be a great time for Oba to score because we’ve been missing those somersaults. If Martins does score tomorrow he might even treat us to a couple somersaults, because we know there’ll be tremendous excitement in the ground.
If Michael Owen and Mark Viduka can also chip in with a goal, that would almost ensure a win, and it would also start to make our goal difference look a little better – which is what we need.
A win tomorrow is a must and anything else will be a huge disappointment.
