JJ. I agree with Gary. If my life depended on someone finishing a chance it would be Owen ahead of Martins any day. Oba will either take the net off or knock someones bovril and pie out of their hands! Malcolm Macdonald who knows a little about forwards doesn't rate Martins one bit. Neither did Inter Milan where he was fifth choice when we signed him!

Agree Geremi isn't that good, but his ball control is good, undoubtibly. While he cant cross, or take free kicks very good ( for us anyway ), he does the job as a defensive mid, takes a little bit of pressure of Taylor, and Faye.

Geremi was utter crap. Did you actually watch the game, Ed?

Fair enough he got an assist but it took him 82 minutes to deliver a set piece past the first man.

He is defintley a contender to be one of the first ones out this summer. Mourinho let him go and I quote beacuse 'he now has the legs of a forty year old.'

Keegan will buy pace in the summer.

Gary the difference between Owen and Martins is that Martins is not English. Most non English football supporters would tell you that Oba is the better player and that even if he is not scoring he is constantly causing panic in the defense with his pace and power - he creates chances for other strikers simply by his presence. And is another option for long balls.
TO say he had a poor games shows you know absolutely NOTHING about football in general.
Having said that I thought Owen showed promise in his new link up role and its good to see the two can compliment each other.

Everyone has their own opinion and Ill state mine.

I really like the way we played,

A lot of balls played on the ground- So much less long ball today compared to a month ago. Even Nicky Butt manage to reduce his. Well, of course there are still plenty where our forward try to win headers, but it's not that kind that keep owen and martins running for nothing.

We had composure - We didn't panic when we win the ball back. I love seeing some of the players actually faking their clearance and make passes instead. And then, they switch flank. How many times it happened? Many many times.

Enrique's distributions were very very good and now I realize the 6m we paid for him is well worth. Geremi make 2 assists and even though you guys don't like his corners, but he is one of those that is famous with set pieces during his early days in English Football. Days are gone but I believe he will get back to that level. Barton First touch improved a lot compared to last match. I was very nervous every time I see him receive a ball but he prove me wrong. He battled well and even can outmuscle and outpaced some at times. Together with Barton and Geremi, nikcy butt also bossed our midfield. Win a lot of balls, short passes, and to the guy who always count how many time he lost the ball, what's the amount in yesterday game?

I don't have much to comment on the 3 men strikeforce, we did produce goals but nothing worth to mentioned here except that Owen dropping deep did help the team out, even Martins dropped back some times.

Faye gave away 2 unnecessary fouls outside the area which I think we shouldn't have concede. Luckily, Jimmy Bullard forget to bring on his shooting boot. Back four played as a team, linking well with the midfield. I'm very satisfied with their performance and you guys already mentioned those area that we are not perfect. So, I can save a lot of time writing here.

If you look at their faces when coming out from the tunnel in the second half, you can see that they started to have the belief and confidence. Even Owen gave a few instruction before the second half kick off. Nice to see.

Last but not least, the way KK celebrating the second goal is quite funny. I really get the feeling this victory is for ALL of us.

*We are not safe yet, hope all the guys keep their feet on the ground. Our worst performance yesterday was the last 10 minutes of first half. Too many nails bitting.

I was thinking about the game today. Now all I can think about is being there when Ronaldeano and Dragoner finally do meet. Should be better than Toon v Mackems!

PS Ronaldeano - you seem a bit oversensitive, hopefully not a case of "the lady doth protest too much" ...

Hi Ed, I would add to the positives from today's game the impact of Jose ENRIQUe who saved us a couple of time with some cool defending. i thought he got forward well too. I was most impressed with his performance.
cheers

I wouldn't touch Riise or Graveson with a 10ft barge pole.

ToonKing - I saw Nicolita in the CL and for the Romanian naional team and he was quite good, but i heard from some Steaua supporters that he has been rubbish in the league or a while now or was for a while and he only gets played because their owner likes him.

I think Ovidiu Petre is a good DM, shame about all his injuries.

well yeah, a lot of the guys in the national team play abroad so they got a bit correction to their mentality. But if you watch a romanian league game , especially after an EPL one, you'll be shocked. Constant interruptions, diving, whining, moaning, players act like they are dying after every tackle, assaulting the referee, players fighting players, players fighting managers, suspended games. it's a real mess.
Recent memories, CFR Cluj - Steaua, Cfr player got into a fight with Steaua manager, Rapid - Steaua game got suspended the other day, players almost beat the referee after that. It's a horror show really.
