Kevin Delighted With Win – Takes Wife Out

10:44 am, Sunday, March 23rd, 2008 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 9 Comments

Kevin Keegan was so happy after the game yesterday, and the crucial 3 points against Fulham was the 10th game in charge for Keegan, in his second time around at Newcastle United.

Kevin Keegan – he’s on his way now!

Kevin said after the game after apparently making his wife Jean, an emergency cell phone call to get ready to go out:

“It takes the pressure off everyone at the club. The players’ attitudes have been questioned and so has my ability as a manager.”

“Tonight I am going to take my wife out. She hasn’t been out for a few weeks.”

Strikers Mark Viduka and Michael Owen scored two great Newcastle goals, and in particular Mark’s goal after 8 minutes was just what the team needed. This boy is a good player but how can we keep him fit?

Keegan added:

“I can’t praise them too much for their contributions and goals. Viduka’s goal was typical of him, he showed good feet and produced a great finish.”

“Owen has answered his critics with his goals this week. Michael would certainly be in most people’s England team.”

Sunderland also had a great result in their first away League win of the season by beating Aston Villa 1-0, with a goal from Geordie Michael Chopra after 83 minutes.

We hope Sunderland stay up as well as Middlesbrough, but we don’t really class Middlesbrough as a North-East team. They are too far south, and when they start getting beat the fans stop going to the games. The other thing that makes them odd is their fans wear warm coats when the weather is cold. Strange indeed.

But we want Sunderland to survive and we don’t hate them at all – well – only when they beat us. My best friend over here in Raleigh is also from the North-East and was shipped out to the US by IBM about the same time in the early 70s. We have fairly sane discussions about our teams. Yes, we are aware that is strange and unusual. :D

We’d like to see both teams doing great in the next couple of seasons, because it will be just fantastic for the region. But only as long as Newcastle are just ahead of Sunderland, in everything we do.

We certainly don’t want our Wearside neighbors getting too big for their boots now, do we? :D

Comments very welcome.

Good win and good performance. I thought everyone had a good game. Barton played his best game yet, the three strikers caused problems all game, even Geremi has a decent game though if he had had some pace to go with his general play he would have been even better. With the midfield and strikers playing well it took a lot of pressure off the back four consequently they – and Harper- were ever really troubled. Again I was a little disappointed that Martins was taken off but I think that had more to do with Keegan MAKING A POINT than anything thing else. As we won comfortably you can’t say he was wrong. Overall very happy as its starting to turn around at last

You know, there are more ways to read that headline of yours – “Takes Wife Out” LOL!

But yeah, it’s a relief to finally get back to winning ways.

The fruits of recent games and the improvements came at last and who can blame KK for celebrating. Mind you i bet there was quite a few of us NUFC fans out celebrating lastnight also. Only diference, KKs headaches will not be alcohol related.

i think celebrations are a bit out of order if u ask me like we should be focused on fully cementing our placein the premiership is a wee bit more important than hitting the toon with the wife .
still well happy with the win though!
