Mike Ashley Can’t Wait To Get To The Summer

Newcastle fans have had little to celebrate this season, so it wasn’t that surprising to see the big smiles on the Geordie faces on Saturday afternoon at 5:00 pm, after the team had recorded their first league victory in over 3 months.

Newcastle fans – sold-out crowd on Saturday

But the smiles were that of relief more than anything else. Having now taken a good 4 points off Birmingham and Fulham, two teams below us in the league, Newcastle have pulled themselves 6 points clear of the drop zone with just 7 games remaining.

One person who seemed over the moon at the final whistle was owner Mike Ashley who said yesterday:

“I just can’t wait to get to the summer and then sit down and talk with Kevin about what we need to take the club forward,”

We’re certain both Mike Ashley and Chris Mort will look at the summer transfer window as being crucial to Newcastle becoming a more potent force next season in the PL. We have some good players at the club already, and they are at least starting to show they have some class. But some players like Carr, Rozehnal and Ameobi are just not good enough, and will be moved on.

Manager Keegan is using Michael Owen is a deep lying position, which Michael seems to like, and he’s certainly been very effective there in th last two games.

Kevin talked about Michael’s new position:

“We’ve played him there because he’s the one player at the club who we know can keep the ball, see a pass and know when to release the ball,”

The Newcastle fans’ attitudes will rise dramatically if we can register a few good wins through the end of season, and that starts at Tottenham next Saturday, where we must think we can get all 3 points, and then go for it.

There are rumors again that Ashley wants to sell after some poor finical gambles. If this is true then we could ins ourselves in the same position as last season whereby we can’t buy until the ownership is sorted. Of course this could just being the media trying to dump on us after our win. However it would be a very bad situation if it is true with DIC (the people interested in Liverpool) apparently sniffing around, they would bring money but not a lot else.

Didn’t Reyes leave Arsenal because it was too wet in England?

Besides he has flopped with Athletico and we need players on the up for immediate gains and not those that need nursing beforehand.

I don’t know what’s stranger, people saying that they don’t want the “little turd” or people wanting him, lets be realistic here now, as we’ve all figured out he’s apparently one of the best player in the world at the moment.

So help me if we waste money on a keeper I’ll snap.

Now realistically, smart buys, someone like, Aiden McGeady, he’s improved so much in one season alone. He’s really impressed me but I think he’ll have a few clubs chasing him if he decides to leave Celtic.

Stephen Hunt has impressed me as well. He’s full of energy, always seems to give 110%, but I don’t think he’ll leave Reading. He’s just such a breath of fresh air, he’s nothing like 90% of the Premiership players.

This guy James McCarthy, anyone heard of him, apparently he’s some Scottish, or sorry Irish lad who plays for some lower league Scottish side, he’s supposed to have a lot of clubs chasing him, ranging from Sheffield Wednesday to Sunderland to Man U to Real Madrid and Barca, apparently he turned down trials in both Barca and Real. He’s only 16, he’s a mid I think, he’s supposed to be amazing. He’s apparently turning a lot of people heads.

Who else, God em, a defender or 2 like Michael Dawson.

We need more firing power up front, clearly seeing as we’re rarely able to put the ball in the back of the net.

They, well the first two are realistic,

I’ve just posted on another thread criticising all the people who jump in and say “yeah but we could never get him” and “why would he want to come” and encouraging everyone to keep the faith.

And then someone says we should go for Cristiano Ronaldo, without doubt the most unsaleable asset in world football.

    Jeez …

I’d rather see a young defender like Rolando or Geronmel at the club who can adapt as they develop instead of some older defender who is pretty much hopeless, playing for a poor team and likely to be ‘stuck in their ways’ like Alvaro from Levante.

We should get rid of Ameobi, Carr, Smith, Geremi, Butt, Ramage, Rozenhal, Emre, Cacapa and maybe even Duff (not really sure bout duffer).

Let’s buy Arshavin, Wes Brown, Ronaldinho (if his head’s right), Giles Barnes, Diego and Lucio.

And of course we should be nursing the young talents at our present disposal i.e. Zamplera, Tozer etc

just one win against a relegating team in 3 full months and i find many fans out of their minds … Ronaldinho? Ronaldo? Diego? gimme a break. we still live on the earth don’t we. if in the coming season we can have the firepower of Tottenham and collect points like the Toffees do this year i will be a happy man. at least i think few Toffee fans are talking about world-class playmaker and Moyes has kept their feet firmly on the ground while archieving some (relative) success. MA may have the financial muscle but i’ll happy enough with Arshavin, McGeady, Bridge, Elmander etc. isn’t Woodgate’s no to us awakening enough?

After this weekend’s match – I really like the look of Jimmy Bullard. If Fulham go down, he’ll surely want out, and he was the only spark in their offence. Everyone talks about how great he is in the dressing room for spirit so I think he’d get on with Keegan quite well. A very realistic target. Any thoughts?

The last thing we need is a team full of ‘so called’ star names…Every team needs a few ‘solid’ players that never let ya’ down & become ‘big’ names themselves by playing in a great team…
…KK bought all sorts of players last time here & look what he did then…I’m sure he knows the sort of players he needs to make us tick & i bet some of ’em will be a surprize to us!..

wes brown in a heartbeat. error prone?? hes a show in at right back this season in the prem and the CL, can’t get better than that and thats despite hes not on fergies’ good books because of his wage demands. speaks volumes for the season hes having.

i hope we dont splash the cash like cheslea do, its disgusting and unnecessary as they just sell off half of them for pennies anyway. we should be looking for a reliable team with no big egos, a solid back four and perhaps even turning a profit at the end of the year! (something that wont happen at chelsea until 2220 at the rate they’re going).

give duff another season, he must be hungry to prove his worth still, as for signings, jonathan de guzman of feyenoord looks the part (young skilful midfielder and gets goals)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fee_33eVIXo

also Grafite, playing for wolfsburg, hes settled in really well in a tough league to get used to (they’re germans afterall!), hes got everything, tall quick, left foot, right foot, headers, a real presence. he was just making it to the brazil squad and scored on his debut a few years ago! before he got an injury which kept him sidelined for a bit. wolfsburg have been the second best team since the winter break in the bundesliga, a largely because of his goals contributions.
if the littleman/bigman theory is true, he’d be a show in with either MO or martins
