Robson – Newcastle Sunderland Derby Will Be Humdinger

Bobby Robson has been talking this morning to the Newcastle Journal and he thinks the Newcastle Sunderland derby on 20th April will be a real humdinger.

Bobby Robson – derby will be a real humdinger

Bobby talked to the Journal this morning:

“The derby promises to be a real humdinger,” “I’ll be the first in the stadium for that one! I’m black-and-white through and through and always will be, but it’s a great passion of mine that all three clubs should survive and prosper in the division. I’m confident they will. Sunderland and Middlesbrough are very important to this region.”

“Sunderland’s victory probably topped the lot. Going to Villa Park and returning with three points was probably the biggest victory they’ve achieved under Roy Keane. If they’re all there next year, which I’m sure they will be, you can see the three of them sparking off each other and pushing each other to do better.”

That was a great win for Sunderland on Saturday, and we think there’s a good chance next year that all three North East teams will do a lot better in the Premier league.

Hopefully Newcastle will rebuild their squad, and Sunderland under Roy Keane have proved themselves to be a hardy lot and are not easy to beat and are in most games until the end.  Gareth Southgate is proving to be an excellent young coach at Middlesbrough, in this his very first season in charge.

Having 3 goods teams in the North East can only be good for the region, and we hope all three do very well next season, just as long as Newcastle are of course at the top of the list.  😀

Comments very welcome.

I have a mackem mate (well sort of) and he calls me (in a bantering fashion) a black and white shite. Had to remind him that they only won cos a Geordie and ex-NUFC player got the goal! Should have seen his face! He bought me a pint. Cannot wait until we beat them. He might get me pissed. Roll on Bobby. We needed your words.

Why hasn’t Bobby been given a job on the board? He loves the club and should be put back on the pay roll. His experience and passion would be a great addition.

bobby love to support the club, he is getting old and needs his health more than a job, we all wish bobby the best and it would be wrong for him to be expected to work again…

after all i reckon if the club offered him a job he would take it just because of the passion he has for the club

NO humdinger an absolute thriller! Will be pleased to see the dirty scum faces once we run riot against them and send them home wondering where that thrashing camefrom. After all it has taken us all season to come up with a convincing 4 goal deficit!!!!! Mighty Mags. Geordie till i die x

He should be given some sort of ceremonial role at the club, like Leo said Sir Bobby needs to focus on his health.

God some of you Geordies love to set yourselves up. I hope you get thrashed then I’ll enjoy re-reading your posts. Shame you sacked Robson, very undignified end of career for a great man.

    The ‘big one’ indeed…
I can’t see Keane being too worried considering our misfortune at home, you didn’t deserve anything from that game.
Jones will cause problems as he has for every defence so far and how fitting would it be for your home lad to score against you for the winner…..doesn’t bear thinking about does it.

Someone said we only won because an ex-NUFC player scored at Villa and I’m saying an ex-SAFC player saved your skins countless times. What’s wrong with that?

These mackem lads followed us all night singing “we are the champions” on kareoke in every club and pub.

Then i was havin a piss at one place when there was all this shouting and the mackems were getting dragged out by the bouncers, turned out a geordie fan had done a shit wiped his arse and threw the bog roll at the mackems!!!

    Cheered me right up

To be fair Mr T your facts are all wrong

Chopra has scored a whopping 3 goals this season not 2 which is as many as they scored the last time they got promoted under Mad Mick.

And MackemJonny i think someone from Planet of the apes land, Having a pop at my neck of the woods is a wee bit hypocritical i dont think theyve invented the wheel in sunderland if they had you would have left.

The only reason I left a comment on this was because I look at NewsNow which gave a link to Sir Bobby’s article. It looked interesting but then I saw the comments underneath left by people not worthy of shining his boots and felt compelled to say something. Anyway, I don’t need to say anything, you do yourselves no favours, just read through some of this! Entertaining though, God I hope we win, it’s going to be great.

It must be hard being seen as the losers all the time your lot seem to try and drop their roots and join us, We got rid of pop robson when he requested 6 toed socks with his kit and Steve Howey when he came back from his family home with rabies.

& Chopra should of scored, but he’s not good enough!

How much did we pay for Ameobi anybody? Ok we’re making a £2m loss on Smith. but you’s are the only sad muppets desperate enough to buy him. He’ll fit in well with your other rejects like Richardson, Chopra, etc.
