I just wished we’d signed him from Celtic/Zagreb all those years ago when we had the chance.

Young Shearer and young Viduka would have been awesome.

In his day, on his day, he was one of very few almost unstoppable forwards. Anyone see that Liverpool match where he just took them apart?

To be fair when he’s fit he still looks the part, if a bit slow. Still he turned Woodgate (one we hail as a top 5 prem CB) inside out when we drew at Boro. More of that please in the last 7 games. He’s quite capable of scoring in all of them.

the problem with viduka this season has of course been fitness which has aided in getting his niggling injuries, i think the key to getting the most out of him is keeping him fully fit through the pre season, before he signed for us he was thinking about moving to the A league or elsewhere and was not focused on his football, due to this he put on alot of weight and lost his fitness, he looks better now though than he did the last couple years for boro, so credit to the coaching staff and mark himself for that one.

Hands up I’ve criticised him too, take it all back on evidence suggested through the last two games, hold up play and upper body strength are an asset when it comes to close control.

No point having a class player if he is not fit to play most games. We have a good strike force on paper but the reality is different so far. Why do people keep saying Oba is going to leave when he keeps saying he wants to stay and loves it here at newcastle? Is Mystic Meg writing here as well

he does look fitter than previously but i think he needs a prolonged place in the team where he can score lots more goals

makelele is way different thing!! Look how geniously claude plays…but a fit VIDUKA is a real treathment to every defense, no doubt about that.

I love oba! But I really think he has to produce a goal sooner or later, becouse the other two s up front do! go oba and mark a hattrick!

av always been a big fan ov the duke.on his day u can put him against any striker in the EPL..hes strong,good in the air,got a fine first touch,he’s not the quickest ov players but put the ball at his feet in or near the area and he’s more than likely to find the net!

so KK has praised Owen for a week or 2 now. Now he has started with Mark! what about OBA!!! he is going to leave if he does not feel he is an asset to the club! imo the best striker we have!!!

I’ll admit I’ve been a critic of Fat Duka myself but you have to give it to him, when called upon he does the job.

Hope he carrys on with this form to the end of the season.

how about play him every other game kinda thing like chelski do with makalale, get him out for special occasions offer him a part time coaching position would allow us to play martins and either carrol or one of the big strikers we are being linked with up front with owen linking
