If Shola is so good then how come a posse of Premiership clubs weren’t banging down our door to sell him in January and last Summer when he was out of favour. He had a couple of truly excellent games in the Champions League a few years ago but since then he has been decidedly substandard and is simply not good enough to play for this club regularly. I think he has probably found his correct level in the Championship.

Well said Craigg, anyone who watched those games against Barca and Leverkusen would know what he’s capable of, he was looking good under Roeder too before all these niggling injuries.

He’s never gonna be a top top player but the stick he gets on here is a joke.

Hadrian you are right when i first saw him playing he was really fast.

He also used to take loads of players on and use some lovely tricks in particular a game i went to West ham away in 2003 i think, Where he caused them havoc all day and i remember saying to my mate that he will be in Englands Euro 2004 squad.

GP look who is in the team Ramage that is more than likely the reason they have all of a sudden started to concede loads of goals i would bet any of you’s by the time Ramge is 27 in 3 year’s he will struggle to get in a lge 2 team i am 100% sure of that he is the most talentless player i have seen play for us.

Like Craigg i would prefer Shola to Smith anyday in my opinion if Shola had been in the first team this season he would have getting 5 plus goals and you don’t play for Englands u 21’s so many times if you are so shite. He has definately got to leave us at the end of the season as he has not made any progress the last 2-3 years and has had too many injury problems he will be a top player in the championsip hopefully.

I dont think this is definately finito because if Shola scores a few and finds his feet again he may come back at the end of his loan.

I would prefer Shola to Smith any day of the week, he has made some very telling contributions over the years and gets a raw deal on his site.

What happened to that Shola with the tricky dribbling that ran rings around Barca in the Nou Camp and scored a brace against Leverkusen in the champions league?

He now looks like a crouch type target man with no ability other than having long diagonal balls punted at him, Real shame and one last thing on Shola despite everyone saying he never tried, He deserves Credit for the way he played for about 9 months with a career threatening injury and helped us into Europe with some important goals at the back end of 05-06 and then 2 goals in the Inter toto Cup final against Lillestrom.
