After an entertaining first half of good attacking football from both teams Newcastle are on level terms after Nicky Butt equalized just before half time.
Newcastle almost made a terrific start to the game after just 3 minutes when a Newcastle flowing move ended in Habib Beye bursting into the penalty area from the right, and following a mistake by Jonathan Woodgate, the Senegal star smashed the ball against the cross-bar and the ball rebounded to safety.
That would have been a great start to the game for a Newcastle side who looked confident in the first half of this game against a good looking Spurs side.
As expected the game was very open and both sides were willing to attack the other.
Then on 26 minutes Steed Malbranque put in a good left wing cross and Darren Bent, around the penalty spot, surprisingly beat Abdoulaye Faye in the air to head beyond the despairing dive of goalkeeper Steve Harper. The ball went into the net off the inside of the post, and that about sums up our luck in the last several games. 🙁
It was an unfortunate goal to give away, and Newcastle hardly deserved to be behind after a very bright and attacking start to the game.
Newcastle, after conceding the goal started to come back into the game, and you would hardly believe the side were struggling against relegation, as they were playing some nice flowing football against a good Tottneham side.
Then Newcastle were rewarded just before the break when Jose Enrique put in a good cross from the left and Jonathan Woodgate could only clear to Geremi, who rolled the ball in for Nicky Butt, on the edge of the penalty area, and Butt drove home the equalizer.
It was a vital goal for Newcastle and was scored with just seconds remaining of the one minute added for extra time in the first half.
Newcastle must now continue to attack Spurs in a well fought and delicately balanced balanced game.
The good news is that Newcastle’s good form of late has been continued in the first half of this game and they deserve to be all square at the break and with any luck at all, could have had their noses in front.
They must keep attacking in the second half and take the game fully to Tottenham if we are to get the win we so desperately need.

Comment #124come on lads, we need to get 6 points from our next two games to have a strong finish to the season, by the way i think todays performance could turn over any team in the league, everyone was great today, Geremi was outstanding today apart from his dodgy set pieces…seems weird saying that when he scored a freekick egh? WTF was robinson doing for that freekick by the way, why was he drifting behind the wall?! what an idiot!

Comment #143people STOP slagging Smith off, bringing Smith on was a a very good decision by KK, Smith breaks up play and is irritating for the opposition. Ramos on the other hand made some terrible tactical decisions e.g. Keane off instead of Berba who was non existent the WHOLE game. Bringing Tainio on when he needed to ATTACK!?! Tainio is someone you bring on when your in the lead as he is like Smith, breaks up play and is irritating. KK and the team get 10/10, everyone played their part. Martins was unreal.

you have to download software first to watch games. Sopcast is popular. TVU also seems good. TVAnts is also popular.
