Butt and Geremi In Team Of The Week

Newcastle United’s Nicky Butt posted his best score of the season to earn a place in the Team of the Week in The Actim Index, the official player ratings system of the Barclay’s Premier League.

Nicky Butt – great performance on Sunday

Geremi retained his place among the best performers for a second week in succession, having also made the top Actim XI following his display in the 2-0 win over Fulham.

Here is the Actim team of the week:

Name Team Position Weekly Score

David James Portsmouth	Goalkeeper	23 points

Earlier in the season Newcastle had seven players in the top 100, and as our performances improve under Kevin Keegan we expect more of our players to make the top 100.

Butt and Geremi in team of the week… a one off which will not happen too often. KK has got the team playing well. He was playing with 10 men when SMITH played. The team is nowhere near good enough and he needs to bring in half a dozen top players. Not squad players. Ship out the rubbish and traitors like Nzog who do not want to play for us.

there is no proof that nzogbia isnt showing commitment… when he came onto the pitch against birmingham he showed alot of running and didnt shy away.

there was no quotes from him saying he wants to leave its all agents being arse’s

also geremi is doing well at the moment because he is playing his prefered position.

the right hand side of a midfield 3… he wouldnt suite a 442 formation really, thats because the fact that he has not much pace can be complimented by the fact that beye runs past him creating space

no Leo, KK himself came out and said Zoggy approached him about a transfer as soon as there was talk of tottenham being interested and that he would discuss it with him at the end of the season

i remember now spyro, hes young and had been managed by now 5 managers since he has been here, he would have been worried if it will affect his career, cant blame him, he will see the light though, you can think otherwise all you like and that sort of narrowmindedness will be the thing which makes him most likely to want to leave.

we have to support the young lad because even if he wants to leave he hasnt played poorly for us and will get us a huge profit, shame if he goes because we loose a huge talent. but players arnt indespenable

    I said Butt AND Geremi.
Spurs was a great result but it does not make up for the rubbish for the rest of the season. Lets not get carried away and think that BUTT AND GEREMI ARE GOING TO MAKE US A TOP TEAM. Nearly every blogger has been slagging them off all season.

I agree any player who wants to go can but keegan only said nzog said he was a bit unsettled. he never said he reqeusted a transfer.
I agree leo there are no signs he definatly wants to go so people should lay off him a bit.

Daiv ive been saying the same thing i would keep butt as a back up DM but Geremi despite the last few games is no where near what we need and will have next season.

We need a pacey right and left winger KK has identified Lennon and Reyes and with KKs management you could see them improving as will Milner, N’Zogbia, Enrique and Taylor and you can already see Martins composure, movement and finishing has improved already, In fact he looks like a black version of KK at the peak of his playing days.

Butt has found his old form back. let us all hope he can keep that form going. He was one of the most criticised and has now answered on the pitch. An example for all the players. I also made very negative comments about Butt, but if you have top play in a central role with Smith next to you, you know that it will be very hard, cause Smith is not a midfielder. Butt wasn’t able to get a descent level and is now leading the team the good direction. Lots of respect to do that!!!

Geremi is for me our number one RW and he should start always before Milner. Why?
Geremi has a very good football brain, sees the game and he can pass fantastic balls. His set pieces are also lots improved.
Milner has got the pace, but he has little intelligence; his dribbles are too difficutl and he is always looking to the ground so he soesn’rt see what happens in front of him or who or where his teammates are positionned.
Geremi is playing very good and look how many assits he has been given the last couple of games and compare this with the stats of Jamesie. What a difference that makes.

I will not often say this, but if there is 1 player who made an advantage by going to the ACN and regain his level then it defo is Geremi Ndjitap (love that name 😉 )

But would you keep the 30 year old geremi “whos legs have gone” Jose and Bobby

Or the 22 year old Milner who has so much ability and with a bit of work can be a star in about 3 positions

And plus KK wants lennon so i doubt he will keep both Germi and Milner

Passing can only get you so far, England with Beckham wide right (The best passer and crosser in the world) Were pathetic against France and crying out for pace so Cappello brought on the not much faster Bentley while SWP whos like milner final ball is poor and dribbles himself in knots sometimes but he with his pace can worry defences and get in behind and make things happen yet he stayed on the bench.

one problem Craigg, Milner aint fast, especially not fast enough to be a winger, he would be better in the middle

Simple fact is, is that the 4 3 3 wouldn’t work with either Milner or N’Zogbia in the side cos they are both a bit physiaclly devoid and can’t tackle for sh*t.

You can’t dispute that Faustino but both Milner and Zog could feature as a Right/Left sided forward challenging Martins and Viduka. I’m not saying start either right now but you don’t just dismiss their obvious talent.

Agreed totally … OK then given the choice between Zog and Milner who would you keep? i.e. who do you think will develop more?

keep them all (Geremi, Butt, Milner, N’Zogbia, Emre) all if we like in the squad but for the remainder of the games we’d start the same system & players who’re on top form. Geremi included.

Craigg fast wingers are Pennant, Pederson, Lennon, SWP, Nani, Ronaldo etc. Milner is closer to the speed of Bentley, Barnes or Jenas, the players who can operate on the wings, but are better in a more central role.

Get rid of this one get rid of that one, week in and week out that is all I ever read from half of you.

If you brain deads stopped and gave it a little bit of thought you would realise we do not have a squad big enough to get rid of anybody just now.

We have loaned out Shola and we have just three strikers left what happens if one or two were to get injured???? You lot who are always going on about who to get rid of are just a bunch of whinging moaning MORONS who cannot see the bigger picture.

We need to build the squad up before we can trim off the fat, if KK were to listen to you lot we would not have enough to field a five a side team. On the 30/03/08 update nufc.com has the number of regular first team players available as 13 not even enough to field a team and fill the bench without dipping into the reserves.

What happens if we cannot get in the players we need but have done as you want and gotten rid of the players you have named???

Just think about it you wanks.

You are what is bad about fans you operate on your petty little dislikes and are blind to the bigger picture lets get some more players in hopefully on sensible wages and then start to look at who we can sell on or release.

They really have to come in on sensible wages as we have one of the smallest squads in the prem but one of the biggest wage bills
