Argentine Striker Could Interest Newcastle

It seems that Real Madrid may be looking to make changes at the Bernabeu for next season and a number of good players could be available for next season.

Javier Saviloa – available from Real Madrid?

Madrid is comfortably leading the La Liga at the moment by a full 6 points, but the club is not too happy about once again failing in the pursuit of Champions League glory, which this season has been dominated by the four English clubs in the tournament.

One player who could become available and interest Newcastle United is Javier Saviola, the 5’6” Argentinian striker.

Real Madrid’s Ramon Calderon is said to want to offload at least 9 players in the summer to both raise money and clear space for some new arrivals. Argentinean striker Saviola is apparently interesting a number of Premier League clubs including Liverpool, Spurs, Newcastle and Middlesbrough, according to DiarioSport.

The 26 year old former Barcelona man only arrived at Real last summer but his career has continued to stagnate in Spain and he has only played 6 games this season for the Spanish side.

Javier has played 40 times for Argentina and scored 11 goals and may interest Kevin Keegan in the summer.

What do you think?

Comments very welcome.

hes very good but i think he will stay in spain in all honesty
+ hes very similar to owen and martins and could cause problems for us with too many strikers

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO we cant have another midget on our team, 5 foot 6inches is way way too short, we need a striker who is around the 6foot mark and midfielders around there also no umpalumpa’s

Len White was only 5.6″ tall. We need a bit of quality beef in defence! Owen has not done bad for a wee fella, nor has Martins. I don’t think Gallagher was that big either.

he’s similar to Owen and Martins in size and maybe positions but they certainly have different sttributes. if we continue to play 433 we need to have more pacy and skilful attackers who are equally effective as strikers, wingers and AM virutally in the center, left and right in the opponent’s final third, so in this case Saviola may be at least a good squad player for us. however i prefer Mauro Zarate who is a younger and better prospect (though maybe 3 or 4 times more pricey as well), or else Arshavin is another realistic option who would be able to adapt better in the NE and the EPL style

We don’t need this guy,he needs a club like Bolton where they’re lacking firepower. Here he would be a bench warmer like in Real Madrid.
    We need someone like Elmander.
    Robert Popov from Auxerre anyone?

still think Ashton would suit the KK style of play, last few games he has been superb for a not so good West Ham! The new Viduka with a bit more pace!

Even if we can get him cheap on the transfer fee but i don’t believe his wage will be cheap. We should forget about him.

We tried to get Zarate at the last minute in January, but he had already promised to go to Birmingham. Seems like a Tevez / Mascherano situation with him looking to attract a really big club. He won’t stay at Birmingham – small club, no fans but could be looking to the big 4 or a top european club. We can’t offer european football so it may be difficult to attract a player who I’m sure lots of clubs will be looking at. There’s a chance of it but I don’t think you could say 99.9%.

Ashton would be a class signing. I think he’d work well in the 3 or in a 442 and he can’t be too happy at West Ham. He isn’t guranteed a place – hardly ever plays away from home – and their not even a good team

iv played with ben tozer most of my life, i played for argyle and he then left for swindon, i didnt want to say anything to do with names, but i can tell you there has been a list of youngsters, and a seperate list of youngsters who would be world stars drawn up by d.wise, jeff vetere and chris mort. like keegan says he has final say, from what i hear the main targets were mauro zarate and fabio zamblera on the future world stars for january but he has chosen birmingham for premier league starts and to see if his style suits the prem. i have been told this by bens uncle who got told by ben, who got told by a senior member of team who he gets a lift to training with, all i am saying about the senior player is, he is not everyones cup of tea.

I think there is more chance Liverpool will want Saviola he would be a fine signing for them but we dont need him it is looking debatable that we need another striker full stop.

We and the scousers are apparently going to go head to head for Lennon, Why would they want him. They could play Gerrard, Pennant, Babel and Kuyt as they do now or even Mascherano who i saw play for River plate wide right. Surely they would want a small CF who could nick they 10-15 goals (Not MO) like Saviola and A Left winger to Replace the useles Kewell, a left back to replace Riise and a right back to replace finnan who seems to have been ousted for some unknown reason in favour of the utterly crap Arbeloa who is favoured by Rafa because he is Spanish.

“No mas par favor”, we have two little fast guys allready, we need a hold the ball , heed a` ba , big guy to comliment them. Did you say who?
The real deal, Darren Bent, for sale at Spurs, young, proven goalscorer, go for it KK, you`l
not regret it, may not come cheap, but will pay dividends in the long run.

I’d like to see a bit more of Zarate before the end of the season, then make a decision on him!

Bit off topic, does anyone thing Kasper Schmeichel could be worth a cheeky bid, he’s been reported as unsettled and wanting more opportunities??

I said it yearsssssss agoooooooo…but no-one would listen!! I still can’t believe that Barcelona were giving him away for as little as 3 M and no-one went for him, not even us!! We were stupid enough to stick by Ameobi ( who’s shit in all honesty) and miss the chance for an amazing player who has bags of skill and experience and is still young! Now we don’t need him really, we have a good forward line now and as someone mentioned above we should be going for taller players. Saviola is a tremendous player no doubt about it, extremely under-rated player.

hmm Real unloads couple players… Wesley Sneijder, Royston Drenthe and Christoph Metzelder should all be considered… anyways Saviola is way too small. I also hope we look at Michael Bradley…i know his a yank but his actually descent stuff. apparently everton, rovers and bremen are interested in Bradley
