Emre Is Injured Again

Emre, after just recovering from his thigh strain and hamstring problems, has injured himself again.

Emre – has now injured his ankle

That’s the bad news coming out of St. James’ Park today about the Turk who has been out injured since February 9th, and has hardly played for Kevin Keegan, because of injuries.

Emre apparently limped out of training yesterday after injuring his ankle, and is said to be out at least a couple of weeks. Emre played a good 45 minutes in Monday night’s Newcastle Reserves 1-1 draw with Manchester United and was even able to score a great individual goal.

But with Emre again being injured that probably means he will at least miss the next 3 games over the next 2 weeks, and he will have little chance now of making an impact for the Magpies this season.

Emre has always of course been injury prone, but he has missed even more matches this season. But on his day he can be a match-winner as he proved that against Everton last October, when he scored one and made one for Michael Owen, when coming on for the last 15 minutes of that game. He won the game for Newcastle in that 15 minutes of creative magic.

We just have to try to do something about our injury prone players that include not only Emre, but also Mark Viduka, who has been doubtful this week because of another tight hamstring.

These are very good players but they obviously cannot do us any good if they are always out injured.

Maybe they can be given strengthening exercises over the summer to strengthen their weak spots, much like the exercises Michael Owen is on for the rest of his career.

What do you think about these injuries?

Comments very welcome.

    Well, what’s new?

He is injury prone and I doubt I’ll ever see him play in a black and white shirt again.

Can remember a time when the sick list is alarming. Fortunately that’s all in the past and hopefully continue to stay that way. The joy of playing look on the lads faces shall prevail.

Who is this Emre ? We used to have a player that could take corners/freekicks n play a little creatively, was he any relation?

Don’t think the overall situation is too critical. We’ve got some ready youngsters sitting on the bench. Watch their eager looks.

Remember reading somewhere that King Kev said he might be tempted to field even more strikers (probably in jest).

Sometimes that might just do the trick to overcome an overwhelming opposition midfield. When you can’t go through it, it’s worth trying going over it. Imagine having 2 target men (Viduka & Carroll) with 2 nippy sidekicks (Oba & Owen) lurking thereabout and cashing in the long balls. 4-3-3 or 4-2-4 or 4-4-2 whatever as long as there is presence of mind to vary & apply the style of play effectively we’ll eventually render any opposition clueless.

    Can imagine King Kev saying,
“Mad, maybe. If it works, BRILLIANT!”

also read that Zog picked up a knee injury in France’s U21 game, and that’s why he didn’t make the bench for the Spurs game. he’s out again this weekend.

Bayern have been keen on Emre for some time. Give this latest in a long line of setbacks, it is abut time we cashed in on him.

I hope Carroll gets a start but without Emre, Zogbia and Viduka I think we could see a return of Smith to the starting line up. I’d rather see Carroll get a start against reading

emre’s injury stem from the fact that he is soo eager and aggressive (not always in a nasty way) and he is just not strong enough.

its not because he is weak mentally.

its a great shame though because he is an awesome talent, i doubt he will play more than 10 games more for the toon

we need to move with the times, injury prone players need to be gotten rid of, especially when you have more than one…

viduka is fit i hear, so no worries of alan smith

if he is injured though please play oba and owen still!!! with carroll

to be honest i dont know whether it would work with smith but if he is the man who is in the team i will no longer bitch before and after a match and just let the lads geton with it, with a smile and a sing

Ill give Emre till the end of next season, because before we bought him he was one of the best creative midfielders in the world.

i like emre but enoughs enough ffs.

how many times have we been in this situation saying oh just give him another chance with players at nufc, only to see them injured again.

its maybe ok when its only that one player and hes a very special player but when you have around 5 players like that in your squad i think you can only justify keeping the one that offers the most to the team and in our case currently thats owen.

owen/emre/carr/shola/viduka/duff is a lot of players on a lot of wages for one to team to try and compete in the pl with when they are all so injury prone.

and considering our need for creativity in mf i would sell emre to make room for a new creative mf player.

i wish he could get himself fit but the facts point to that not being possible and im starting to question the validity of some of these injuries.

im already 100% convinced carrs are fake as he hasnt the bottle.

yeah he is crocked yet again. But then if KK & NUFC have the luxury to give him more time & can give special treatments on all his problems as we did to Micheal Owen we’d get some rewards next time. Once again we’d have to patience. Maybe he’d offload to earlier offers in the summer. Whatever happens i’d the best for us at NUFC.

What shocking news; Emre is injured AGAIN!!!

I really like this guy, he is a fantastic player, but now I start to think that it might be better to sell him cause he is never fit. How many games has he played this season??
    Not that many.

Give the guy a break will ya!
According to reports Emre was taken out by a bad tackle in the reserve game. The tackle was in the 2nd minute and he ran it off until half time before being pulled off.
Creative players like Emre will always have a target on their back.

Creative, world class etc. Bollox – we’ve had him 3 seasons and I’ve yet to see it. Lazy and uncommitted IMO.
