Keegan Looking For Portsmouth Revenge

It’s not hard to pick our worst performance of the season at St. James’ Park this season.

Kevin Keegan – hopes to make it 4 wins in a row

That was the demolition against Portsmouth where, after just 11 minutes, we were 3-0 down and went on to be beaten 4-1 by a much superior Portsmouth side last November 3rd. That was probably the game when Big Sam’s plans for Newcastle started to come apart at the seams.

Kevin Keegan is now well aware of that performance and no doubt has watched the game on video.

Kevin told the Newcastle Evening Chronicle today:

“Probably the worst performance this season for us was Portsmouth at home.” “Now we have just got to go down there and try and put in a good performance.”

“They are a good side – that’s why they got to the final of the FA Cup.” “They are also a big, strong side, but another Spurs-like performance might get us something out of the game down there.”

Fratton Park on Saturday will be full of fans welcoming back their Portsmouth heroes, after they successfully reached the FA Cup final by beating West Bromwich Albion 1-0 at Wembley, and then they beat West Ham at Upton Park 1-0 on Tuesday evening. They are flying high at the moment.

Newcastle have not won at Fratton Park for 17 years, so it seems to us it’s time we won down there, and we think we will, with any luck.

But Newcastle will need to start a lot better and more awake, than they started the game against Reading last Saturday, we cannot afford to concede early against this confident Portsmouth side.

Comments welcome.

To Ed, just a suggestion on when you do playing records on defenders on here. such information may be harder to come by but maybe clean sheets etc as it is easier to see how good they are with that. just a suggestion. 😀

harry is a good manager and a nice man, but he is also a very fortunate man that will see his luck run out on 12/04/2008. i always knew big sam was the wrong man for this club(notice i said this club, coz he is a good manager-small club), he allowed teams like pismouth, derby, reading, villa, boro and sunderland make us look like a mediocre team by drawing or loosing to them. i gaurantee you we will hand harry his arse come saturday. oh yeah, by the way, if harry had become our manager…wwwow… i am so glad we did not make such a horrible mistake. all i have to say is newcastle are the fifth best squad in the league this season and it is finally starting to show.

harry redknapp isnt a nice man, blooming nora, he is a kniving idiot and a bung taker just like fat man sham.

my second team is portsmouth due to my dad living there when he was young and i just have an affection for the place, but when we were playing them at home i wasnt thts for sure, i hated all there guts. the only funny thing for the match was that my mum came 30mins late because my bro had dislocated his shoulder and the guy on the door was like u really sure you wanna go in lmao.

we need to get back our pride.

everyone Davey G is Knighsbobmoncur so dont be too surprised if you find the two agreeing with each other regularly. Read the article about sir bobby robsons words and you will see his comments and figure it out in a matter of seconds, how embarrassing.

Yeah we were terrible, but we got the goal that counted. We did the same on tues, although Niko had a few half decent shots. Defoe is back though and hes scored 8 in 7 games. Our weak link will be right mid as Utaka is out. Johnson has been differnent class though at right back. U lot bringing loads down?

Good stuff, its a bloody long way to go to loose lol. Its better now we have a roof over the Milton end, it generates loads of noise and u lot are pretty good at that. Still I did prefer watching the scummers get soaked and stuffed 🙂

I will go for 1-2 win for the Toon. Oba and Owen to score. It will be the toughest test for the team that has refound their confidence.
