Habib Bye has been taken to the heats of the Newcastle fans because of his do-or-die attitude for the team.
Habib Beye – wants win tomorrow
Habib told the Evening Chronicle before he left for Portsmouth today:
“Maybe the fact that they are in a cup final might change the way they are thinking – but we aren’t going to take that for granted.â€
“They’ll still be concentrating on us and we’ve got to have the right attitude for both ourselves and our fans who’ll be making the long journey down there.â€
“Portsmouth won’t be taking it lightly, they’ll be wanting to beat us if they can. We have to be ready.â€
“I didn’t play when we lost 4-1, but we’ve got lots to put right. We need to have some revenge.†“The next game is a different game, but we’ve worked hard.â€
“When we lost 4-1 it was the start of bad times for Newcastle fans.†“Losing like that means confidence is down.â€
“But now the confidence is going the other direction.†“For me, Portsmouth are a good side, but we can go down there and win.â€
Newcastle’s African foursome are very much in great form at the moment with Beye, Abdoulaye Faye, Oba Martins and Geremi all playing excellently in the first team.
Portsmouth also have a number of good Africans who are enjoying a super season with Kanu firing his side to Wembley last week against West Bromwich Albion.
Yet Beye knows all about the dangers of Nigerian legend Kanu after several battles with him in Africa.
“I see it as another good challenge. Kanu is a good player and I’ve played against him at international level with Senegal when we’ve played Nigeria.â€
“He’s a good player but it’s not just him we need to look out for.†“They’ve also got Papa Bouba Diop and Sulley Ali Muntari – the whole team has winners in it.â€
We look forward very much to the game tomorrow, and there’s no doubt a win will send the Newcastle fans ecstatic – again.

Comment #43I think Redknapp is eating out on the fact the fact he was approached by us
I saw that press conference after he was arrested saying “I was only questioned because i was high profile”
What??
How many times have you Played or Managed England, Won trophies as player and manager, given us memories like the collapsing under the advertising board at Anfield or the ” I WILL LOVE IT IF WE BEAT THEM, LOVE IT!” rant on live telly, even falling off your bike on superstars and twice european player of the year, Leaving a full SJP by helicopter after retiring.
high profile you wouldnt know if it bit you on your ginger cockney arse!

Comment #53AZ, “potato eating lepricorn” – can you leave out the anti-Irish comments. We still remember the lack of any sympathy or help we got from the “mainland” in 1840…..
