Viduka – Next Season Could Be Big For Us

Mark Viduka has decided to keep playing for Australia, yet he still believes next season could be a big season for Newcastle United.

Mark Viduka – feels this team can go somewhere

Mark talked to the Newcastle Evening Chronicle today:

“I think we are beginning to see the potential of this team, and I think the players are starting to look around and think: ‘We could be on to something here’.”

“If we keep playing this way and keep the positivity going, then next season could be a big one for us.”

“But first of all we want to show ourselves we can do well up to the end of the season starting with a big game at Portsmouth tonight.”

“Obviously, nobody has liked the way the season has gone so far.” “It’s been pretty disappointing, and having seen what we can do, we want to end it on a positive note and I am sure we can.”

Viduka has surprisingly never played at Fratton Park, and he will be looking for his 8th goal of his first season at Newcastle.

Mark added:

“Portsmouth will be a tough game, and it will be a first for me, as I’ve never played them at Fratton Park.”

“However, I have scored against Portsmouth before, and we are full of confidence after the way we played against Reading.”

A win at Fratton Park this afternoon, and it’s going to be very hard for us to keep the lid on this, because it will be almost certain that we can have a very very good side next season.

Of course we’ll try, but a win is what we need today, and we even think we can do it. It will not be too long before we know how we’ve done.

Howay the lads.
