£250M Transfer Funds – Think That’s What Mike Said

Kevin Keegan was in a light mood for jokes after the game yesterday after his team had virtually won the game by their good first half display.

Kevin Keegan – thought Mike had said 250M transfer funds available 😀

In the second half it seemed that the lads took their foot off the accelerator again but Sunderland only created on good chance when Kenwyne Jones got in a good header that we brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Steve Harper, who was again as safe as houses, and looking an excellent Premiership keeper.

When asked after the game about the amount of transfer funds Mike has Kevin joked:

“He said there is £250M to spend in the transfer window. I think that’s what he said.”

“Or he may have said, ‘I am going out on the town tonight’. I think it was the second.”

“No, I am just joking. He is pleased and I am pleased for him.”

“Terry McDermott just turned to me with five minutes to go when they were singing and he said, ‘It’s like the old days, Gaffer’.”

Well we’re quite sure Mike would have been out on the town last night and these last 6 games have been a dream. Four wins and two draws, 12 goals scored and only two conceded and 4 clean sheets – and 3 wins on the trot at home. The defense looked well organized and solid yesterday, especially in the second half and credit has to go to the Newcastle coaching staff for the vast improvement in our defense.

The last 6 games makes very good reading, after the team struggled so much in their first 9 games under maestro Kevin Keegan. But we seem to have a good team again and they are playing well.
You talk about a turnaround! No wonder Mike Ashley was so pleased after the game.

Ashley might be dancing now but in pre-season I hope he can smile while writing out big cheques!

The toon have been promised a lot over the years and one thing that we demand is that our hard earned cash is re-invested into the transfer budget. We also expect a BILLIONAIRE to invest more than a fair share into the club.

We’ve waited for success too long. Ashley can choose to enjoy the limelight right now but if Keegan isn’t given a significant warchest this summer his popularity will wain very, very fast.

How amazing would £250m be? We don’t need that much though!

HeronMag – Ashley have invested HIS OWN money into the club already by clearing our debts.

Callum – Don’t get me wrong. Ashley has committed himself to this club by investing a fortune into clearing our debts.

But I have no illusions. Without investment into the squad we’d go nowhere fast. I just hope he continues with the good form!

don’t say 250m, 50m is a lot already. 100m is better. But I can’t remember any club spending that amount in one single season.

Come walk into King Kev’s wonderland once again. Inevitably the big time is coming our way. This time hopefully we’re destined with some silverware in coming years. Next season we must aim for Uefa spot & make the right efforts to reach the target beginning with some smart investments on new players with better quality. Howay KK!

HeronMag, why dont you shut up. Mike has already invested hugely in the club.

He’s cleared our debt (which was strangling the club).

Your comments are pathetic, & show you know nothing about our club.

Mike Ashley is loved by all “true” Geordies already.

We dont need muppets like you bad-mouthing him, when he’s done nowt wrong?

How on earth did you come to the conclusion that he had been bad mouthed?!?!… What Heron said is that all the promises of taking this club up where it belongs when Ashley took over are still remembered and need to be shown by backing KK, and thats freakin damn right!!!… And before you start calling people muppets and boasting about true geordies, you might want to do yourself the favour of actually reading the post you answer!

Think Valle replied for me. Cheers mate!

Like I said to Callum, Ashley has committed himself to the club. As the club’s owner he and Mort have the responsibility of taking the club back to the next level. That isn’t going to happen without investment.

Ashley has done an amazing job so far, he’s cleared our debts and brought KK back.

    Keep it up MA!

Well, £250 million should get us half a dozen half decent world class players then!!!!

Eto’o, Messi, and a good RB would do us proud. Its a dream, but sillier things have happened!!!!!
