Mike Ashley – “Fantastic Lads”

Newcastle’s players were visited in the dressing room after Sunday’s great win by Chairman Chris Mort and ecstatic owner Mike Ashley.

Mike Ashley – just ecstatic after Sunderland win

Mike was literally ecstatic after the win on Sunday, and could be seen dancing in the Director’s box as he celebrated a great win, and the 4th win in 6 games for Kevin Keegan’s ever improving team.

It was also 3 home wins on the trot with no goals conceded and 7 scored – not too bad at all. And of course Captain Michael Owen has come good and scored both goals to make it 8 goals in his last 11 games for the club.

Goalkeeper Steve Harper today revealed what was said to the players after the game by the Billionaire owner:

“He (Ashley) just said, ‘fantastic lads’, and shook everyone’s hands,” “He was happy.”

“Him and the chairman came in and it was good to see his smiling face. Just as he left, it came on the television showing him dancing in the directors’ box.”

“If it had been on while he was in there, he might have got some stick!”

And it’s also great to have an owner who is obviously so in love with the team. Mike Ashley wants to stay out of the running of the club and it certainly looks like since Keegan arrived he can do that.

All Mike has to do is show Kevin the money in the summer, but the way the team has been playing and the way the City of Newcastle has been totally lifted these last few weeks by the team, we’re sure he will do that.

He could become the toast of the City, and we’re sure that’s exactly what he wants to be. 😀

Upward and onward.

Great owner, light years ahead of FFS. Hope he backs the club with a few £’s in the summer. I think his enthusiasm for the club is there for all to see and that p!sses the southern press off no end.

One thing you dont often see, which happened on sunday was people in the directors box including Ashley all stood up on que as a chorus of “stand up if you hate sunderland” rang round the ground…class.

Great to see! I have really taken to this owner and chairman. They are young, clever and enthusiastic. Miles better than FFS and I must admit I have never seen a billionaire owner or any owner of a football club for that matter jump around and celebrate with the fans the way he does. He is really enjoying his investment in the club and looks to stay and make us a genuine force in the coming years.

Awesome! The sky’s the limit with these guys at the helm. It is so refreshing to finally be reading all this good news coming out of NUFC lately. (Unlike Liverpool! 😛 )
    Onward and upward…

I’m totally over the moon that Ashley bought our club. You can see he’s loving it at SJP. I’ve no doubt whatsoever that he will give Keegan what he needs to have us challenging for a European spot.

You look at Man City with there little sour faced asian fella and West Ham with there bald hitman impersonator and you realise we got really lucky. Here is a guy that every football fan can relate to not some corporate suit or old rich dude. Even our suit Mort seems pretty enthusiastic. Might make for a rocky emotional ride but cant be worse than FFS.

I’m just as keen to see who will go this summer as I am to see who joins. I hope Smith goes.
