Kevin Keegan has been talking again about St. James’ Park, home of the world famous Toon Army.

Kevin Keegan - best place in the world top win

Kevin said today:

“You have never heard anything like that at the end. I don’t care how many times you come to the stadium, when it goes like that and you hear them singing, it’s absolutely the only place in the world to be, as far as I am concerned.”

“I have played at Liverpool and I have played in derbies, I have played in the Maracana, I have played in the Nep Stadium, but this is the best place in the world when you are winning.”

It’s a tough place if you are not going well, but hey, they are the rules of the game.”

Sam Allardyce experienced what it’s like when you lose at Newcastle, and the team also looks to be in disarray.

We’ll never forget those fans shouting at Big Sam during the game against Liverpool at home, when we lost 3-0. Poor Sam nearly choked on his chewing gum - and that may have been the end for Sam right there.

So we agree, it’s a great place to be when the team is winning and playing well, as Keegan’s side has been over the last several games.

We also noticed that even when Kevin’s team were losing at home the fans stayed right behind him - interesting.

Comments welcome.

Hes the only man that can make St james feel so special in my opinion! Not even Mouriunho could have the same impact as Kev! I really hope we can win something and get close to the top4 again, Keegan and the fans deserve it!

Rich - totally agree with you having a big name as a manager is one thing but having a big heart like KK does, is another. He is also not afraid to wear it on his sleeve. Good luck to the whole team for next season! Howay the lads!!! Toon , Toon ……

when he was losing we stayed behind him because we know that kk has what it takes to turn us around and you could clearly see the improvement in football on the pitch albeit resulting in losses frequently.

that liverpool home game was the most pathetic game i think ive ever seen tbh.. l’pool should have scord 8 or 9 and tht wouldnt have been an unrealistic summary of the game, we basically let them win. was pathetic just like fat sam himself.

now at least we know if we do lose we’ll go down fighting and playing the right way i.e. having a go at teams and going for the win.

Are we the only fans that have a song and a chat specially for our manager? Does anyone else do it?
