Newcastle captain Michael Owen, who is the man of the moment at Newcastle right now, has talked about the excitement and expectations surrounding the club.
Michael Owen – was that my 11th or 12th goal of the season?
Not surprisingly Michael admits there is a buzz around the place following Newcastle’s excellent performances and 14 points out of the last 18 available.
Michael Owen talked to Newcastle World TV:
“It’s the oldest cliché in the book, but we really are all in it together. It’s nice to play some good football, to get some confidence and it’s nice to get the fans’ backing.â€
“And it’s nice to climb up the table. I couldn’t have imagined saying a few weeks or months ago there really is a buzz and anticipation for next season.â€
“In a way we want it to continue because we’re on a great run, but if we can take these performances and the confidence we’ve got about us and add one or two top players then it’s going to be exciting times.â€
“We’re not going anywhere now fearing our opponents,â€
But until we complete the season and our three remaining games, we just have to keep our good run going. If we can end the season unbeaten in our last 9 games, with two or three more wins in the bag, then there’ll be a very good argument that Kevin has already turned the team around, and we’ll only be better next season.
Mike Ashley has a wonderful chance of lighting up the City of Newcastle by funding Kevin’s plans in the transfer market this summer.
And if he and Kevin, with the help of Chairman Chris Mort can make Newcastle great again, it will be a tremendous achievement for Mike Ashley and how he’s used his vast wealth.
He’ll have done something really worthwhile with his money – and will be the toast of the city. We have a feeling that achievement will outdo any of his many successful business deals of the past.
The love of the Geordie Nation is something to behold.
We just cannot wait for that to happen.

Comment #3bramble is a tube. cant wait until next season, hope we buy a few really good players over the summer. I can see us doing really well in the coming years, as long as King Kev doesnt crack under the pressure when we push for success! the infrastructure is in place, the recruitement/scouting system is sounding really robust, and the repayment of the debts, enphusiasum of the owner/chairman, we have a chance to do it 4 a change. cleaver men up top to guide the club, opposed to sheppard who could bearly guide any more pies into his oversized mouth! the futures bright… I’m sure of it this time! 🙂

Comment #4Leo i disagree, Brambles could be 2 stone lighter, faster and taller but he would still be shit. This is because he lacks the main skill every defender needs, and that is the ability to keep your concentration for the whole match. He simply cannot do it.
I am disgusted by what he has said, his comments further show his lack of intelligence. He has insulted ALL Toon fans instead of carefully choosing his words and maintaining his dignity, so now even the fans who refrained from insulting him have turned against him. He really is going to get some serious booing treatment if he ever comes back to the SJP. What a prat.

Comment #7It is well known that Bramble is a very thick lad. I mean footballers usually aren’t the brightest, but he really is lacking up there.

Comment #9We have gone from joyless, miserable percentage football with a snarl to joyful, happy passing football with a smile. Know which one I prefer. Bit rich coming from Titus. Tthere’s a guy who impersonated a footballer on £50k a week for 5 years and how many managers did he get sacked!!
