We were disappointed to read uncomplimentary comments of Titus Bramble yesterday about Newcastle United.
Titus Bramble – slags off Newcastle fans
Titus Bramble has rather foolishly been outspoken about his 5 year stay at Newcastle United and has severely criticized Newcastle’s fans. Hardly a good move.
“The Newcastle fans aren’t as good as everybody says. They think they should be winning things – but why? They’ve not won a trophy for 50 years”.
Let’s be accurate here – it’s 39 years since we last won a trophy in 1969 – wrong again. Bramble feels the Geordie faithful also got their previous manager Sam Allardyce sacked, as he continued:
“The fans got Sam Allardyce the sack there. Can you believe that?”,
Titus admitted the criticism he received hurt him, (oh, the poor thing), although he does say he was supported by his team mates and friends.
Let’s get something straight.
If you make schoolboy errors at Newcastle you will not be a favorite with the Geordie faithful. They expect their players to play well and not keep mis-kicking balls in the penalty box, which Titus has continued to do at Wigan, and given away stupid goals. In fact he’s no longer a starter at Wigan under manager Steve Bruce – a Geordie by the way.
We don’t think it’s very intelligent for Titus to make these comments, because if we put together a film of the mistakes he made in the famous black and white shirt of Newcastle, that film would be up for comedy of the year.
If he attacks Newcastle, he has to expect the fans to cite the evidence they have of why he was not very good at the Tyneside club – and unfortunately for Bramble, the evidence is piled very high indeed.
The fact he cannot get his game at Wigan tells it all – he’s just not good enough.
Titus should have let things lie, and heaven help him if he ever plays at Newcastle again, but we’d be surprised if he can get his game.
