Shearer – Newcastle Players Changed Under Keegan

Ala Shearer has said again how he backs Kevin Keegan to bring back the good times to Newcastle United.

Alan Shearer – players are now different from when Keegan took over

Alan of course is well aware of the way Kevin runs a football team, since Kevin brought him to his home town club, for a then world record £15M in the summer of 1996. What a day that was.

Shearer says he expected Kevin to turn Newcastle around but even Kevin needed some time in which to do that. Shearer talked today about the famous Newcastle manager who seems to be building another great Newcastle side:

“It just shows the knack Kevin has,” “The team lost the first few games that he was in charge and so the confidence went. Then, the pressure grew. What is for certain is that the players you see now are not the same players you saw three months ago.”

“I was always pointing out that this would be the case, because I know the way that Kevin operates. It shows the club’s board were absolutely right to give him the time.”

While yesterday’s game was disappointing for Newcastle fans, especially the first half, Newcastle have now gone 7 games without defeat and have a 15 points haul from those games.

Our next game against Chelsea is a week tomorrow at St. James’ Park, and that should be an absolute cracker with a world-wide TV audience with Chelsea now in with a chance to snatch the Championship from Man. United.

It’s also a chance for our boys to show how good they are these days, and we think they’ll be very keen to take that opportunity.

Im sure yesterdays lucky escape has brought everyone back down to earth. We need to perform at the top of our game to even get a draw against a chelsea side who are very much in the title race.
