It doesn’t look like Rome club Lazio are likely to sign out-of-favor Newcastle defender David Rozehnal on a permanent basis in the summer.
David Rozehnal – unlikely to be signed by Lazio
Since David surprisingly moved to Lazio at the last minute, in January, he has been unable to get his place at the Italian giants.
Rozenhal has struggled at the Stadio Olimpico, and the Serie A club are unlikely to want to make the move permanent.
He is not a starter at the club, and we can only hope he gets his game with the Czech Republic in the European Championships, and Newcastle will be able to recoup the £2.9M we paid for him from PSG last summer.
We don’t think he has a future at St. James’ Park, although it would have been interesting to see how he would have played for Keegan.

Comment #4KK got rid of him after watching him play. So I don’t think there is any chance he will play for us again. After he left he criticised KK as well.

Comment #5when you see how our defence have improved under keegan and hughton maybe there is still a chance for him at newcastle if he can prove he is commited to the newcastle cause.lets not forget he is an established and proven international defender for the czech national team.

Comment #7If he comes back to SJP, fine. He has the makings of a very good CB. His complaint was for being played outside his prefered/ best position, by BSA, on a regular basis and he wasnt the only one!!!!
Welcome him back with open arms, if he’s committed to the cause: if not, taxi for Mr Rozy please!!!

Comment #9To be fair to BSA his signings are starting to come good, but only once they’ve been allowed to actually play football instead of rugby!
I can accept a loss on Rozey for all the positives we’ve seen from the others.

Comment #12I’m gutted he isn’t still part of our squad! I think the best defenders in the world have the ability to play the ball, run with the ball, and intercept the ball rather than have to dive into tackles. Roz is a very good footballer, and when we are playing against lesser teams, he could get involved with the build up play better than Taylor and Faye because he is a better player on the ball. That means we could start to play patient football against teams that are sitting deep, and keep the ball moving until we see a gap!
He isn’t the strongest, but it would be good to have variety in all positions, and he is definitely a different option to the other CBs that we have

Comment #13If he comes back to the squad then so be it. He has a lot to do before he’d dislodge Taylor, Faye or Edgar from the starting line up.
I’d support anyone wearing a black and white shirt, I just hope he’s regretting spitting his dummy out.

Comment #14He was our superb for the first 10/15 matches – don’t think he was any worse than many of Big Sam’s signings up to January.
I’d be willing to give him another chance. Look at his international record. He only wanted to play cos of the Euros…

Comment #16We should give him another chance, our history of fireing players and managers every season is haunting us now, from the simple fact that everyone is afraid to join our club.

Comment #17Given that centre back has to be the position that KK bolsters the most, Taylor and Faye are looking good and Edgar is coming through well and also that his major beef is being played out of position; the chances he’s going to be at SJP next year are slim.

Comment #18I thought he did quite well when he played in the Nicky Butt role, we was able to break up play and pass it about a bit. He doesn’t seem like he’ll get himself hurt for the cause, so I’d be reluctant to put him centre back until he shows otherwise

Comment #19dont want him back at all. as soon as he got to lazio all he did was spout his gob off about us and say bad things and how much he loved them and hoped he would not come back to us. now that he has done little to set the world alight over there i bet he is wishing he had kept his gob firmly shut!

Comment #20i dont recall him saying such things chris mate?
i remember him saying he is going because he was sick playing out of position, and he has always stated that he loved the people in newcastle.

We are TRYING to improve the squad and as many have said he would do alot to dislodge, Faye, Taylor and Edgar.
SO WHY BOTHER with the wages??
Sell him, and then buy someone who is BETTER than what we have and Then make Taylor, Faye and Edgar PUSH for there Place.
THAT IS WHAT WE NEED!!!
Come on GUYS?????
Dont you want us to move FORWARD????
NO MORE BACK UP PLAYERS WE HAVE THOSE!!!!
and IF we get some they should be YOUNG!!! 18 or 19
THANK GOODNESS YOU LOT are not in charge.
you would recall Titus Bramble!!!!!!!!!!

Comment #25I rate Dunne as about good as Carr, and have been watching proper football for over fifty years sonny.
Roz may have not been too hot when he was with us previously but you can say the same about many of our present first teamers under FS. He showed enough for me to give him another chance whereas Dunne for me is clumsy and slow and would be a big waste of money.

Comment #26Midjew – I agree, we want to go forward and putting Roz again in the squad is not particularly going in that direction.
He left in strange circumstances in January and then he was very stupid ,to give those comments in the press. Sell him and replace him with quality. Perhaps is country mate Ujfalusi would be an inforcement for our defence and a leader aswell.

Comment #30Agree with Midjew. We’re being too kind on players who let us down when we needed them most. Rozenhal is not worth the bother.
I personally think to move forward we need two more centre backs to compete with Faye and Taylor. Rozenhal, Cacapa and Diatta are simply not good enough. Edgar is all potential at the moment, and needs some Championship experience.

Comment #31Agree. Loan Edgar out to a championship side. He needs to build some strength too. Ditto Roz if he stays. The big CFs eat these twigs for lunch.

Comment #32a few of BSA signings are coming good now (but admittedly, a few are also very bad). If Roz can show his comittment to the NUFC cause, then give him another chance.
Like a few of his fellow signings by BSA, we may see the best of him under KK. Sell him next summer if need be but even if the £3m is a total loss, it’s still nothing compared to the losses from the Vianna and Boumsong deals

Comment #36Bill F – i agree with you. I reckon KK could turn Roz into a really good defender. For some strange reason everyone has been highly rating Dunne this season, why? I just don’t see it!
