Keegan Infectious – Gets 20% More Out Of Players

Even more plaudits from Newcastle’s players on just how good they think Kevin Keegan is – this time from in-form goalkeeper Steve Harper.

Steve Harper – gets 20% more out of players

Steve talked to Sky Sports News today:

“Since Kevin came back, given time to get to know the players, he has proved what he can do at this massive football club,”

“He’s infectious, he just walks into a room and gets an extra 20 per cent out of players.” “You have to give him a lot of credit tactically for what he did a couple of months ago. “

“He changed the formation at Birmingham and got a big point when we needed it, and since then we’ve been a lot more solid at the back with a goal threat up front, and that’s a good combination.”

Newcastle have two rather difficult game to end the season with, and one of them will be an absolute cracker next Monday afternoon against Chelsea at St. James’ Park, which will be the final game a of a very disappointing season for Newcastle’s fans.

The goalkeeper added:

“We’re not interested in who wins the title, although we hope to be more interested in that in the years to come.”

“All we care about, come 4 o’clock on Monday, is to go out and try to win that game.”

“Manchester United have got a big game against West Ham, but we can only do what we can do for ourselves and our football club.”

We hope Newcastle are more interested in who wins the title next season, because if we can really get in say 5 world class players in the summer, we should be a lot higher up the league next year at this time – and that’s a certainty.

The only question will be – how much higher?

Comments very welcome.

What is more important is the character of the manager and his ability to get the best out of his players and KK has it in bucketfuls. A good leader is worth his weight in gold.
What would FS be worth his weight in.

This is a repeat of an earlier comment that I thought was worth making again.

imagine what keegan can do with genuinly quality players, however it cuts both ways and if there isnt anything extra for keegan to get out of players you will soon notice it.

    step forward alan smith.
