Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez yesterday said it would take £15M to persuade him to part with Peter Crouch – but we don’t think so.
Peter Crouch – £15M is silly money for Peter
Benitez says today that Crouch was offered a new contract in December, and then amazingly says the fact that the striker could leave for nothing next summer had not put extra pressure on Liverpool to sell. Oh really.
“If we receive a very good offer, and by that I mean £15M, we will consider it,”
“I’m reading about £8 million, but if we only receive that, then I’d rather keep him. We’ve offered him a new contract.”
We don’t blame Benitez for trying to get £15M, not at all, but we think Crouch is worth at the very most around £10M, and we think Liverpool may receive offers up to that amount.
If Liverpool decide to turn these offers down, fine, and Peter will move next summer for nothing or in January for a greatly reduced fee.
That’s the truth.
We are interested in the report because we like Crouch as a player, and think he would do just great at Newcastle – but not for £15M.
What do you think?
