Daiv, thats true but the transfer window hasnt even started yet! we had little chance of getting anyone in january and if you look at the signings other clubs have made no one has bought anyone yet, now that the seasons over we will have more oppurtunity to look for players and well see what ashleys prepared to do. Keep the faith!

I cant see ashley giving only 20m to keegan and keegan leaving tha meeeting happy. Infact when keegan signed up as manager he spoke with ashley and ashley said he wants to win a trophy within 3 years.
Now if he wants that he will have to invest alot more than 20m in players. I think if the right players become available and they agree terms ashley will come up with the cash. And if he didnt say that in the meeting i honestly belive keegan would have walked.
Afterall when he signed as manager he was assured he would be backed to the hilt.

daiv and craig, no offence but both of you have been completely taken in by shit stirrers like the mail and the sun, making a big deal over realisitic comments by keegan and a meeting that would have happened anyway with ashley. Instead of being so negative why not try supporting the chairman for a change and wait to see what happenes in the summer, the truth is we have no idea how much we have to spend, how much will be spent and what exactly happened at the meeting, we are all basing our opinions on the press, and lapping up any shite they spurt out just to sell newspapers. stick with the toon and ashley at least til the summers over and we know 4 sure whats happened!

46 years NUFC fan. Season ticket holder in Brentwood Essex. Born in Gateshead and lived there for 22 years.
Never seen Toon win a domestic trophy.
You are right about this time being critical. If MA fails to deliver (and I think he is there to make money out of NUFC. He’s a southerner not a NUFC fan) I don’t think we will ever win the league in my lifetime. Maybe a cup. But I’ll still turn up as long as I can drive!!! Toon foerever.

i thought that ashley was going to be the start of something great but he has so far done nothing for us, the fans, everything he has done has been for him nad his own interests. my season ticket this year was 500 quid. i live down near lincoln now too (but from gateshead) and it costs a small fortune to go up and follow the lads. the amount of money that i am putting in, in propotion is far more than ashley is out of his pocket. if kk leaves they can all go and get fcuked. i hope they all understand just how bad a ride they are in for if they screw up this close season. i feel that this is a vital time in our clubs history, honestly. i think that all the other clubs are going to go out and spend big, we may not do that, so we will be going backwards and thats even if we can retain who we have….. which we can not i would say. i am dreading zogs going, he is one of the most naturally gifted players we have had in years. owen can not be underestimated, he is our talisman and he really has taken over from shearer in so many ways. i would like to see shearer come in and buy newcastle. i totally detest the sight of mort these days, he just talks shit all day long and its clear for all to see, he knwos jack about footy and has no passion for it either…. he is a money man, thats his passion.
as for smithy, i think he is like an enigma sort of thing. no-one knows where the hell to put him (footy clubs) but he always has suiters. then they buy him and think, wot the fcuk can we do with this donkey. maybe in goal or something. i hear that shay given is pretty good outfield, lets swap them around. or perhaps we could get him to announce the geordie jackpot at half time or something, christ knows. one thing is for sure though, i would not play the bloke in any footy team that i had or managed. i feel sorry for him as he looks like a model pro…….just shit thats all.

daiv………….its being so positive that makes you so happy mate!! cheer up! enjoy the game, i think it will be keegans last as he is probably arsed off with the complete lack of interest that our owner, chairman and other turds they have that they have brought in, in making our club a success on the pitch. i am sick of hearing how they have paid off all the debt…….who gives a fcuk!! why do we care about that like. what we care about is what happens on the pitch and who comes and goes through the doors. it looks like plenty of good ones will be going but saying as morts idea of a massive signing is about five million then i reckon there will be none coming through inwards. christ daiv…..i am worse than you!!

Can anyone explain to me why KK would play SMITH? he has not scored in 30 THIRTY games for NUFC and has not scored a league goal for THREE YEARS. (with Manure who create chances by the bucketload). What is it about SMITH that he keeps getting picked? the only thing you can predict about choosing SMITH as a striker is that he will not score and is unlikely to even get a shot off. Answeres please about why KK would pick him as a striker. (DO NOT REPLY THAT HE RUNS AROUND AND TRIES HARD. I can do that.)

i think you will all get a suprise as he plays an attacking 4,4,2 with owen and martins up front. duff on the left with zogs left middle alongside butt………is milner fit to go on the right again?? it will be the usual back four – which is better now than it has been in ages i think. smith on the bench i hope!!
