got to say im very confused by all the negativity floating around the last couple of days. we’ve been on a great run recently until being beaten by the cl finalists and potential pl champs. we’ve been playing great football again, we have oba and owen and we are looking for more top stars, surely things couldnt be looking more optimistic!!!

i am really looking forward to this summer!

sure its disappointing missing out on modric but what that has done early on is state that the club are in for the right quality and age of players that will make us a top top team again!! (not the gold chasing codgers some people confusingly seem to think we’re after)

we obviously have money to spend and i for one cant wait to see who we’ll bring in

keep duff,back t his best next season,,from youth level in ireland he took badly to injuries he has to b 100percent and he will b in time for new season.

No matter who goes or stays or comes in , there’s one thing I’m sure of. United are on their way back to the top!! Think about it, we’ve now got a professional Chairman, a committed passionate owner (I don’t think he’s in for a quick buck) and our 2nd most sucessful manager back on board. Right now I don’t mind if it’s only top half next season as we’re all in this for the long haul. Keep the faith, let the professionals get on with the job ahead, it’s only a matter of time before United are back in a cup final or the Champions League. When they have consolidated our position with the elite I reckon they’ll extend the Gallowgate/Milburn capacity and we’ll be a powerhouse again. Would anyone want to see Freddie back here with his pathetic trophey signings every year to lure us back to the ground like muppets. Ashley/Mort/Keegan mean business and they deserve our full support going forward. There’s only one United!!!!!

I can’t belive how negative people are about Keegans comments and MA. No matter what happens you’re glasses will always be half empty….why do you even bother pretending to be fans. I know MA will spend big money, the bigger issue is will the top players want to come to us when the can go to champions league teams. Thats not Keegans or MA’s fault!!

Just about agree with you Iain.

My only problem is with Owen. He is definitely only here for the money – nothing else! He and his agent will be asking for more. Watch out for protracted contract negiotiations before he gets what he wants, then gets a mystery injury. In the old days KK would simply have shown him the door.

exactly what have smith/duff/carr/shola/ done for nufc this season, nothing not a single thing of note.

ffs smith and duff pick up wages that villa/everton/spurs dream of payingto keep there top stars yet we waste that kind of money on crud squad players. the reason clubs like sunderland need 50m to stay in the pl is because along with chelsea the previous knackers who ran this club thought paying ridiculous wages to average players was a good idea and now 90% of the players in the league earn double what there actually worth.

smith , ameobi, emre, duff , nzogbia,rozehnal,carr if all we did this summer was to replace this lot with a mixture of young hungry and some pl exp players on lesser wages i would be quite happy to attack a new season having done just that. imagine doing that and adding one real top quality player along with keeping owen etc.

its amazing to think that whilst we were signing duff for 5m and paying him 65kpw everton were signing lescott for 3-4m and paying him something like 20kpw, even more ridiculous was that we then had no extra money to buy a much needed defender after getting duff, thats what has to stop at nufc that ridiculous no thought whatsoever transfer policy.

imo my summer plan would be…

tie owen down to a new deal on his current wages, he cant demand more as there isnt a club in the league who will pay him more than we do bar chelsea, improve taylors and martins deals to keep them. then offload the dead wood…

smith/carr/shola/rozehnal/emre/nzogbia/cacapa. use the wages weve saved offloading them on martins/taylor/owen/harper then budget for replacements for every player that left.

i dont understand why you peopple are so negative – The chairman and the owner has spend a lot of money getting rid of the depth and also hiring peopple like jeff vetere and dennis wise(he wouldnt be cheap) and a new wise chairman – do you really think that they are now thinking of cutting cost????no no my country men they will go all gun blazing next season -they are relauncing this football club.. mike a is a businessman he knows you have to spend to make money in the long haul…watch this space i will not get surprised if its all just a media game – imn expecting big name signings for nexts season and whatever happens i can always recall how it was with the big fat spepherd at the helm – we are definately on the right track with 20 mill or 50 anyone agree?

I think fair comments by the Messiah. We do have a better squad than everyone thought. Probably capable of challenging for Europe without any additions. So i reckon it would make good business sense to stick with what we’ve got, maybe get in a couple of squad players, and see how the season goes up until the January transfer window.
I think theres a consensus agreement that the only big name players we’ll get now will be past their best or golddiggers. If we’re challenging for the top 6/7 come January then we can have a better chance of getting blokes who’ll be committed to the cause.
