We’ll Be In The Rush For Players – Keegan

Kevin Keegan has talked today about the transfer market following his rather secret meeting in London yesterday, with owner Mike Ashley.

Kevin Keegan –

Nothing really substantial has been released about the meeting yesterday, and it may well be that the club doesn’t want anything released to the press concerning the discussion points, or results of the meeting.

For that we cannot blame them given the mini circus this week about newcastle in the press.

But Newcastle United boss Kevin Keegan has talked today about the transfer market, and has assured the club’s supporters that players will be signed this summer.

“When we get somebody we’ll announce it,” “At the moment we haven’t signed anybody, but that’s like a lot of clubs.”“We’re still looking for what we need and what it is available.”

“There will be a rush for players and we’ll be part of it.”

That’s good to hear and we know there are a number of good players the club seems to be interested in.

That first signing is keenly awaited.

Are these quotes not from the press conference on Thursday or before the meeting yesterday?

I hardly think anyone will be following Jose Enrique in leaving Villareal for us this summer given the season they’ve had.

Although like everyone else I thrive on info from St James’s I dont think what happened yesterday (as long as it was all constructive) should be put into the public domain and giving opportunities to the Daily Mail for instance to further degenerate us.
I am stealing the following comment from someone else but am in full agreement with it:-
YOU KNOW THAT WITH KK YOU ARE GOING TO GET UPFRONT HONESTY AND INTEGRITY SO UNTIL HE SPEAKS AND INFORMS US WHAT IS GOING ON THEN EVERYTHING ELSE IS PURELY HEARSAY AND SHOULD BE TAKEN WITH A PINCH OF SALT.

I wouldn’t mind Bullard – realistically he’s a player who would be attracted to us, he’s a clever player and can really take a free kick.

Obviously I’d like someone better, but we could certainly do much worse.
