I disagree Paul, Carroll isnt putting the effort in, you may be right about his skill, I know his reserve form and hoped for a glimmer, but it isnt there in the first team, he has been away on loan and was poor, he has been in the first team and hasnt looked premiership class, if he is good in the reserves and nowhere else maybe it is down to other players giving him those chances on a plate, I would be looking back through the records to see who set him up for the goals and consider him or them for the first, the way Lua Lua looks on the pitch I supect he will have a lot to do with it.
I think others are right about him and his attitude, I didnt expect goals, I expected a lot of mistakes, maybe a little controversy even, but I definately expected effort and enthusiasm, finally in the premiership first team, come on what a break.
All I am saying about Ameobi is dont sell him before we have the others in, so I would sell Carroll first, we sold Chopra for nothing then failed to get a replacement when he would have been useful, we dont want to do the same again.

Ant if you are looking for a frenchman to sign buy Djibril Cisse, he has scored an average of 11 goals per season since 2002 and many of them in the highest class football, ie Europe, International games, cups and so on every year he is involved in something which has been won, Anelka was cheap, wanted back in to premiership football and wondered if he still had it etc, Djibril Cisse is the same stamp just a hell of a lot quicker, get him while he is a bargain not after he arrives here and proves himself and everyone wants him.

I hope i'm no upsetting the guy here... but Ian give your head a big shake and read the comments you have left. I'm not making excuses for Dunn or Emre at all but players get better the more games they play. Look at Michael Owen when he first came back....
He barely scored anything, he is still missing open easy goals now!! Emre has had silly injuries and the same for Duff but the pair in the past have played amazingly for the Toon! Emre's free kicks have been great and got us ut of trouble plenty of times in previous seasons. Duff down the left is a great force when he's fit and on form which he has lacked since joining NUFC. I do think it's time for Emre to move on but he has by no where near been a horrible player for the Toon. Duff I hope to see next year, hope he gets a good pre-season under KK and I hope he's spot on for August. Everyone knows KK pushes his players in pre-season!! Andy Carroll just needs a little bit more time, you can't push things. The reserves he has been outstanding!! Remember while first team have been losing the reserves have been outstanding and a main part of that is AC. Lua-Lua is still 18 we can't push his straight into first team football, outstanding player but theres a time and place and it's not his time yet. Carrolls gotta come first!! Shola is pure poop, the player is a write off... pure disgust if he stays this Summer!!

P.S. Sebastian Larsson, Klaas Jan Huntelaar, Matthew Upson, Nicky Shorey, Arron Lennon and JAmes McFadden for the Toon!!

Faroe magpie, look again at the clips, Carroll wasnt on his man when marking (header) that was one goal, Owen was disputing with the linesman and didnt mark his man and he scored, only one down to Taylor if you can blame him for it, however I still say as soon as we lose our ability to counter the opposition no matter who they are, but worse when it is a good team like Everton, throwing everyone forward and then we have no chance.
When Martins is on the pitch they keep at least two players back as they darent give him a head start.
Martins might not be the most clinical finisher on the pitch but he worries the hell out of the opposition, they double mark him and keep players back, which takes pressure off the rest of the team. We need another striker on the other side like him.

i just hope andy "the dunce" dunn from 'news of the world' has his head burried in a toilet somewhere. why? he wrote that piece of shiite story convincing the readers that manure is getting MO on the cheap. then fergie bust out with "no" we're not interested. these are the kind of girly writters that causes strife between husbands and wifes, with their school girl rumours of what he said, she said interpretations. point is... as king kev said, when we sign them... you will know. over the summer do not believe these numb scull want to be part of the scene writters like andy dunn. fact, this is what happened in the modric signing , they the media sabotage newcastle with their publication. they are against us and only publish negative articles on newcastle united. some of them have the face value of good stories but ultimately, the press is sucking up the arse of manure and the gooners.

Stephen Taylor was at fault for every goals that Everton scored. Look at the clips friends. His positional sense wasn't good enough yesterday

It is easy to say Emre is poor, when he has played he hasnt delivered, the rest of the time he is out injured, as soon as a player commands high wages due to be being a top drawer international a club has to get their money's worth out of them, both in goals in that position and minutes played, if he was up and coming and on lower wages it wouldnt be so important, but he is a large share of our midfield budget we cant afford to carry players like that in a small squad, i think it is a shame but what can we do? Otherwise we will be going all season again with the likes of a multi position player like Smith trying to fill in for him and getting slated for it.

Not that impressed with Duff either to be honest, I watch and sometimes wonder if he knows where he is going, never looks like scoring either.

Agree on Carrol...if he was up to scratch he would have broken into the team by now. Another Shola/Chopra. No offense Craig but Nobby had seriously proven himself elsewhere before he had a bad spell with us. Andy just seems a bit lacking every time Ive seen him.

Re; KK and 'that interview'

He sounds like a kid who was promised a PS3 and given a megadrive but didnt want to upset his mam that she got it wrong.

Carroll has had many chances in our first team, his skill isnt in question as he hasnt put the effort in to show it, he is young and should have been much much quicker, he kept losing his mark in defense as he was to slow and was jogging about at the front as if the match was won, Nzogbia with the ball was always ahead of him on the counter and he wasnt running in to the right places or seemed as if he wanted the ball, leave it someone else and let them try.

I think we should sell him, put Fabio in his place in the reserves and possibly even keep Ameobi as a last resort striker, while still looking to buy at least one more, two if we sell a striker.

That was a taste of what it would be like if we suffered two striker injuries next season, we would be in serious trouble, imagine if that was the start of the season with Martins and Viduka out for a few months.

we should take note.

If Smith isn't our worst player (actually playing in the first team) then who is? I must admit I am struggling to think of some one as bad as he currently is. I think KK must see him as his personal challenge.

Mc fadden would be a good buy, played well in a team that was heading for relagation and Moyes was quoted a few weeks back that he regretted selling him.Westham also want to cut there wage bill so a move for upson might be worth a try .He would strengthen our back 4 ,rate him beter than Dunne. If n zogbia wants to move to London maybe aswap deal could be done.

That is really harsh Carroll cannot be judged on his first full start, A lot of good players struggle at first Nobby Solano for one was appauling at first Gary Speed and Alan Shearer commented on a Season review DVD a few years back that some of the players were laughing about him behind his back as he was so bad at first and he didnt turn out bad.

Imagine next season, Martins suffers an injury and it knocks him out for 6 months, Nzogbia has gone, Viduka has niggling injuries and we have Owen and Carroll at the front with no other options. That Everton game is how it would look.

If that wasnt a wake up call I do not know what is.

Our priority? Sell Carroll 0% effort and no clear showing of skill, buy another fast striker I keep saying it but Djibril Cisse is a player we have a hope of landing, keep Owen if he will work for sensible wages if not, Berbatov would be a much better replacement, find another striker who isnt expensive but can do a basic job, if not keep Ameobi as a last resort striker, 20k per year isnt expensive and he is 20 times better than Carroll.
Why didnt we try Fabio???? Now we dont know if we have a potential first team striker.

Lua Lua should have a permanent place in the first team.

Then do the rest as we intended, a couple of excellent midfielders and shore up the back.

Smith isnt our worst player, Emre is, we have to put a non scoring striker on the pitch because our high priced international is complete rubbish, that is the truth. Emre should be our rock in the centre.

As soon as we lose our threat at the front the opposition is all over us, they were so confident we wouldnt score they had no real cover in their defense when they were going forward, we need a permanent threat and it cant just be Martins who can counter, we saw it again with Nzogbia a midfielder constantly ahead of the strikers because they are to slow, Carroll should be ashamed, Owen we know has lost pace, get another fast striker in there and midfielders as fast as Nzogbia if possible.

Djibril Cisse is one of the fastest strikers on the planet, at £6m he is cheap.
