Newcastle Interested In Campagnaro

Hugo Campagnaro, who currently plays for Sampdoria in the Italian League, wants to play in the Premier League

The 27-year-old Sampdoria right-back has said:

“If I had to leave Italy, I would like to play in the Premiership.”

“A couple of years ago my agent presented an offer from England to me, but it was nothing concrete. I’d really like to play there.”

The Argentinian ace says he is keen to test himself in the English top flight as he feels he is reaching the peak of his career, and there are likely to be one or two offers for him to consider this summer.

Camapgnaro, who is almost 6’0″ tall, played for Moron from 1998-2002 and made 102 appearances and scored 6 goals. He then played until 2006 for Piacenza where he played 122 times and scored 10 goals.

Since 2007 he has played at Sampdoria and has appeared 20 times for the Serie A club, who are placed 6th in the league this season.

Newcastle and Fulham have both been linked with the player.

I think there are postions alot more important to us at the moment, in terms of signings, as Habib Beye is possibly the best RB in the league!!
Doesn’t make sense to me, his age, the fact Fulham are the other team interested, the fact everyone knows that cb and lb are the defensive frailties, and the fact this guy is a complete unknown?! Doubt it is true!

probably the players agent trying to inflate his transfer fee we don’t need a RB we have one of the best in the league and taylor and gerimi for cover i would expect a few more storys like this before the window shuts. i realy do not see us doing much busness until after euro 2008

Taylor and Geremi can cover Beye but how good can they do it,we need a natural RB cause Carr and Ramage will leave in the summer.

I’d rather spend the money on a CB we need a more solid center of defence this one’s a bluff

I would rather have Cassano from Sampdoria. He is an awesome player but has an awful lot of personal issues.

Nah, not really. First part was fairly easy second part was mediocre third part was hard. Hard to judge how well i did. It was a practical and im not even good at practicals not in exam conditions so ill make it up in the written exams.

The windows werent allowed to be opened, it was raging hot with the sun shining onto the black blinds which were down so everyone was sweating like a peedo in a playground. Very hard to concentrate with your goggles steaming up!

Sounds like a good prospect. However, Beye, as many have mentioned is probably one of the better right-backs in the Premier League at the moment, and replacing him would, in my opinion be a mistake. However, given that Carr has been released, it may be interesting to see if Campagnaro is brought in as his replacement. Wouldn’t really mind if that were the situation.

Btw, Chelsea have completed the signing of Jose Bosingwa from Porto for a meager 16.5m quid.

    That’s what’s called a solid investment.

Hey guys not sure if you are aware of the nonsense rumor page on TeamTalk but this is a rumor posted today about us from a Leeds fan. I only bring it to your attention because I think this would be a pretty good list of players to be aiming for; Newcastle will buy(from a reliable source)Eider Gudjohnson, Sidwell, Dunne, Doyle, McFadden, Wright-Phillips and Henry!! Out:Smudger, Carr, Cacapa, Viduka and Nzogbia. I’m not sure about Henry as i think he would break our new wage structure and doubt he would want to join us, but the rest of the list I think would be very smart and logical additions to our squad.

Moron..what a great name for a club…”i play for moron united”..that is a such as good chat up line !

Maybe if dennis wise takes ove we could change the club name to the “moron-pies”

Linked with Fulham too..hmmm don’t even think wise and his team of pricks could win that battle…”lure of the bright lights” zzzzzz etc

Like I said..”linked with”,”couldn’t agree terms”,”signed for spurs”,”we almost got him”,phrases I am sure we will get used to over the next few months…wish Dennis Wise would run under a bus useless twat!

at the end of the day he is another unheared off defender. can we afford to take risks in the defence? absoloutley not.lets concentrate on getting the back line sorted that means sealing the deals on dunne, riise and cuellar. only then can we look at back up defenders. then we can maybe take seriously the links with henry, van der vaart, arshavin and mcgeady.

Is it true that bus number 666 went from Newcastle to Whitley Bay in the eighties an if so does it still run.

And Tripp if you are still around it has been up into the mid to high 80s F. which may not sound hot but it is here for this time of the year.

Got to agree with toonbully, this constant “who we gonna buy” is doing my fookin head in, I personally thought Ashley might have got a few “SHIRT SELLERS” in ala Real Madrid style bit that does not look to be the case, KK is looking a bit pissed at the mo, I can see another famous quote a comin’

“It’s not like it said in the brochure….”

    To quote Han Solo

“I’ve got a real bad feelin’ about this”
