Peter Ramage will leave the club this summer, but we think the Gerodie lad can still carve out a good career in football, like several players before him who have left the club.

Peter Ramage - best of luck Peter
Some other center backs, who have left the club, are still doing very well at smaller clubs.
Steven Caldwell is captain of Burnley, and his brother Gary is still playing regularly for Scottish Giants Celtic.
Aaron Hughes is captaining Fulham, and was part of their fantastic relegation escape under Roy Hodgson this season, and Andy O’Brien is at Bolton, who also managed to dodge relegation this season.
So we expect to see young Ramage do very well, and it looks like he may end up at QPR or maybe rejoin Glenn Roeder at Norwich.
Kevin has only known the Ashington-born 24 year-old since January, but he’s taken a liking to the young lad, who bleeds black and white.
Kevin Keegan told Newcastle World TV:
“He’s one of those players you would like to keep around the place,” “He’s got a heart as big as Newcastle city center and he loves the club.”
“But he has to get himself a move where he can play because he’s not 18 or 19 and needs to play on a consistent basis.”
“But, wherever he goes, it will be their gain and our loss as a person around the place.”
“I have known him three or four months, but you only need to be in his company for a week to know that he’s a great lad and I wish him the best of luck.”
We always liked Peter Ramage a lot, because what you see is what you get, and while he may not be the world’s greatest center-back, he’s a very good player, with a great character and a winning temperament.
With those elements of his character, he’s a shoe-in to be a success wherever he ends up.
Ramage made 69 appearances in the famous black and white shirt with 59 starts, and he made his debut against Olympiacos in the UEFA Cup in March, 2005, at the age of 21.
We’re sure he’s proud of those accomplishments, having been born in the same town as Jackie Milburn, and the Charlton brothers.
Best of luck Peter, you’re one of the very best.
Comments welcome.

that’s a fair bit of experience and game time in the pl for a young lad, will look good on the cv, so he’ll do alright.

I would like to wish him well also. Pity he needs to go. Another local gone. I think he would do well at Norwich. Hey, shall we colonise Norfolk? They have got Clark as No 2 and Shola might end up there. It is his decision I believe. KK wanted to keep him. Bit of a bummer that.

Apparently Rambo has gone to QPR who have also signed a goalkeeper from Spurs. Everywhere we go there’s a sperm. Hope you do well young Ramage. It is not far from Wormwood Scrubs - you never know you might bump into Barton. All the best.

Yes said the same last night but good luck to Ramage, Very misunderstood player, Judged too harshly by people who only saw him at LB, Totally different prospect at RB or CB.

Championship player at best, could not pass and no awareness. Saying that good luck as he never hid and is a battler.
