Charles N’Zogbia Happy At Newcastle

The news that Faye and N’Zogbia had an altercation last weekend has been denied by Charles N’Zogbia.

Charles N’Zogbia – happy at Newcastle United

We didn’t write anything about the report because we thought it was a bit sensational and hoped it wasn’t true.

Quite honestly, we’re a little tired of the poor reporting on Newcastle, and some of it seems downright biased against the club.

Our aims on this site are to build our club up, and not rip it down, but we will also report most of the news each day.

Charles N’Zogbia, who we said yesterday, we’d love to see stay at the club, has come out today and said he is happy at the club.

He played really well against Everton and looked what he is – an excellent young player destined for greater things ahead of him.

The 21-year-old midfielder does not give many interviews, but he spoke to the Evening Chronicle today:

“I am happy at Newcastle United and, to tell the truth, I have always been.”

“At the moment, all I am concentrating on in playing for France Under-21s in Sweden at the end of this month”

“Like the rest of the Newcastle squad, I will be looking at what players we are going to sign.”

Charles was willing to talk about his reported bust-up with Faye, saying:

“I have been at Newcastle since I was 17 and I have never been involved in a fight with anyone.”

“And why would I pick a fight with Abdoulaye Faye? Not only is he a friend of mine but he is also a little bit bigger than me.”

For the record Faye is a massive 6’2” and Charles is 5’7” and we always thought Charles was more intelligent than to pick a fight with the mountain man – looks like we were right. 😀

While Charles has not said he will definitely stay at the club, we certainly hope he will – he’s a great young player and will get even better under King Kev.

And if he does stay the fans will again take him under their wing, and remember he’s still only 21 years old.

He’s still maturing as a player and a person, and we’ve all made some silly mistakes of one kind of another before that age.

What do you think?

Comments welcome.

if he says he’s happy here, and he wants to play hard for our team, then i say keep him! he’s a fantastic young talent with a good eye for goal so let’s keep him! we need talent on the wings anyway..

We have got to keep him. If he stays will KK revert to 442 or vary his formation according to the opposition? If he stays and plays out wide does that mean huff and puff Duff will be just a squad player?
Hey ho Charlie – you can be great with us. Hope this news is good news.

It isnt like Keegan to say that Zog wants to leave when he doesnt, all a bit confusing, but if he is happy now and wants to stay I cant think of any fan who wouldnt want him in the team.

That wouldnt be bad, the fastest line up in the premiership, Martins, Cisse, Nzogbia and SWP with Owen there to pick up any rebounds/saves.

I said in an article a week or so ago that Zog has more potential than most young players in Europe. I stand by that.

N’Zogbia could be fantastic here. I hope he stays. I’m glad he hear him sound like he’s beginning to change his mind.

has everyone forgotten that we ALL expected Charles to say something like this now it is clear Tottenham aren’t interested?

Why would he go to KK and ask for a move if he has always beens happy here?

Well said Ian about Zog and KK, cracking player but a total tosspot. He changes like the weather, possibly knows that Spurs don’t want him. Now that they have Modric.
If he wants to stay great, as we have too many slow players at this moment in time. Just hope he stops being a pain and buckles down to the task.

SO!! Charlie, my French Friend (Gotta be careful here)…..If you do want to stay why did you try and bog off to Tottenham in Jan?? and if you didnt want to bog off to Spuds, why on earth do you stick with the stirring little Jock Barsteward willy McKay as your agent, you know the one that gleefully informed us all Charlie is unhappy and he wants to move to tottenham??? Eh??

And Skunk, surely Jock isnt racist, I heard Brian Robson call them that last night after the rangers match re LEGENDS tourny!! Where do we draw the line?

With you on that Spyro! Of course he is going to say what the fans want to hear, because he knows one way or the other he might stay…

I hope that he does stay and that he is happy with that decision (or circumstance…), but I’ll take this statement with a grain of salt. Only time will tell if it sincere or not.

I would really love to see him develop and be one of the keys figures in moving Newcastle up to europe.

It doesnt matter what did or didnt happen last week, 2 weeks ago. If he says he wants to stay, I’m delighted as he’s a bloody good player .

He has pace, is versatile and loves to take his man on. I think Zog staying spells the end for Duff though, just dont think he has it in him these days. If Duff stays its going to be a “make or break” season for him.

    Good Luck zoggy.

Keegan is probably the right manager to get the best out of him. Maybe he’s realised that, or maybe he’s realised he won’t get other offers if he has a bad attitude.

As a footballer I like him a lot. If he continues to develop his game and not be big time Charlie, so much the better. It also means that Spurs don’t get him, which is nice.

why would anyone want to move to spurs this past January???

oh, maybe because: 1. we were headed for relegation w/ our manager (BSA), who 2. continued to play people out of position, all while 3. Spurs had hired a new manager who has had success in Europe and seemed to be turning their squad around.

Considering the circumstances, i’m willing to forgive and forget Charlie trying to move on. even if his attitude is off (which we only have PRESS reports to go by), he’s still been our best player just about anytime he has been in the lineup, and still only 21.

needless to say, i would be ecstatic if he stays.

Seetow, he just signed a BIG new F***in contract last season and thanked us by asking for a transfer to a London Club. KK said so…..
I dont want him, he is undoubtedly a talent, but IMO he is Disruptive, Huffy and thinks he is a lot better than what he really is!!!
Once upon a time, we had this player called Jermaine Jenas, he went down the same route, poxy excuse after poxy excuse!!
He P*SSED OFF to london, and next season he will be a bit part player in an allstar spuds team!!
Got waht he deserved, as will Charlie !!!

Tommy Svindal Larsson what a player!!! and christian casteneda, a sweeper who scored 20 goals a season. mind you did actually see casteneda playing right back for peru in one world cup so he did actually exist. took dover to the premiership on the edge of europe once with chopra as my 20-30 goals a season striker as well so shows you the realism of cm/fm!!!!

as for the question by the villa fan, stay well clear of carr. was quite good once now not up to it. in my opinion villa and newcastle are both trying to aim for the same level next season and car is not up to that.

No-one has a low opinion of him, they just wonder why the change of heart???

Still think it is because Sam shoved him at the back, Zog and Martins for some reason werent Sams favourite players.

I think that is when he started thinking of going.

Martin O’niell – Take Carr man we really don’t need him. On his day he was more or less decent but far too injury prone to be any success. On the N’Zogbia matter it is really confusing. Especially since KK said he had spoken to Zoggy because he came into his office upset. Another piece that doesn’t fit into the puzzle is the fact that Charlie here wasn’t happy in his time with Roeder and caused a stir when he was caught using his mobile in team talks and if I am not mistaken went AWOL in our last game of the season a while back. Why would he now say he has ALWAYS been happy when it clearly seems the opposite. I personally hope he stays as he has tremendous talent for his tender age of 21 and IMO a better player than McGeady and Duff put together. Imagine we sell Duff, keep Zoggy and land McGeady! We wouldn’t need any wingers for a long time as we also have Milner.

I’ve always maintained N’Zogbia’s so-said “attitude problem” was media made. I’ve been watching you all slag this lad off for far too long now. Maybe his comments today will show him in a new light to some of you. Personally, I think the guys attitude has always been top notch – he’s one of our hardest working players when he’s on the pitch for me. I think we can all admit he’s at least a step up from our last left winger lazy Laurent Robert.

Maybe this will teach some of you not to believe everything you read.

    Beye Cuellar Faye Enrique
    Milner Butt Arshavin Zoggy
    Owen Martins

Maybe an ambitious bid for veloso aswell to replace butt. break the bank for arshavin, perfect playmaker to thread the balls through to owen and martins, meaning no big striker is needed.

Sparetheman you are right about his attitude on the pitch it is first class (which is where you want it).BUT one of my pals has been mates with him since he came over to England. He is still great friends with Robert as well(who is a really nice bloke). I have’nt met Charlie boy ,but my pal says he has changed. For the worse, he says he is a big shot now and thinks he is better than anyone else. As angryman says shades of Jeenarse. He was another who the rest of the players did’nt like. They are almost in a parallel universe together. Difference is Zog is a cracking player though.
The point is the press will pick on people like him as he walks about in a strop and won’t talk to them.

He needs to get on with players though not just try hard on the pitch, it is not the whole story.
Angryman you are funny as f—.

Happy the kid`s staying, he is an asset to the club.
But please dont play him at left back anymore
its easy to see by the body language he hates it,
look he is an attacker not a defender, ok Kev!
