Arshavin Shines In Cup Final - Is Keegan Interested?

May 15th, 2008 · 79 Comments

Andrei Arshavin had a good game last night in the UEFA Cup Final, but we have no idea if Kevin rates the player.

Andrei Arshavin - is Keegan interested?

We have covered the Russian captain quite a lot on this web site, and it was thought that Sam Allardyce was ready to sign him for £8M in January, before he got the sack.

But when Kevin came in, we’re sure he was informed of the players that Sam was thinking of at that time, but Kevin elected not to bring anybody into the club, apart from free agent Lamine Diatta. The club announced yesterday they will not be extending Diatta’s contract past the summer.

And since Kevin came there hasn’t been much news that we are still interested in Andrei, who we’ve always thought would be a great buy for Newcastle.

Andrei has already talked about Newcastle’s interest back in January, and he said he would be very willing to join the Newcastle club, at that time.

Whether that will still be true is not known, but of course we cannot offer him any European football next season, but his wages will be improved if he joins Newcastle, and he will be playing in the best league in the world, so that may be persuasive to the Russian, who turns 27 on May 29th.

Zenit St Petersburg coach Dick Advocaat has said he’s set to lose Andriy Arshavin.

Manchester City have been reported as having already bid for the Russian international, and Advocaat said after lifting the UEFA Cup last night:

“That will happen, I have no doubts about that and we will have to start again.”

“That is the problem if you become successful - such as happened with Skrtel sold to Liverpool. We have to keep those players to become a better team.”

“It’s not only Arshavin - other players also who are very important for this team - and we need to try to buy three or four others to make the squad better and rotate a little bit.”

“Only 12 or 13 players played in almost all the games and that’s difficult.”

Manchester City are in turmoil right now, so we really hope Newcastle are interested in this player, and put in a bid, since we believe Andrei would come to Newcastle.

Arshavin is a talented player with terrific pace, and last year he was named Russia’s Player of the Year.

Andrei was born in May of 1981 in Saint Petersburg, (then called Leningrad) and is a top player for Russian Premier League team Zenit St. Petersburg, who won the UEFA Cup last night at Manchester’s Old Trafford, by beating Glasgow Rangers 2-0.

He has captained the Russian side, in their successful quest for European qualification under manager Guus Hiddink, which included a win over England in Russia.

Arshavin has played for his club side Zenith 214 times and scored 47 goals since making his debut back in 2000, and he has played for Russia 33 times and scored 10 goals since making his debut for his country in 2002.

He stands just short of 5′ 8” tall and is a versatile player in the attacking mold and can play in midfield or up front.

What do you think?

Comments welcome.

Diatta was released by us yesterday. So we basically paid his wages for several months without ever playing him —something fishy there.

As for Arshavin - very good player but would cost more than £8 million now, and I think KK is looking elsewhere…Veloso. Mainly because Arshavan only has 18 months of good football left in him.

  • 2 John // May 15, 2008 at 10:37

would be an amazing signing..And from what Advocaat has said he is leaving..So hopefully we are in the running fo him..

  • 3 Punk Skunk // May 15, 2008 at 10:40

Would love this guy playin’ for us, but i can’t see it, no euro football, pity!..
    …Well, y’never know i guess!?!..

    …Possibly the new ‘Pedro!’..

  • 4 KKK // May 15, 2008 at 10:44

There is no doubt Keegan will try his best to sign Arshavin, he is basically Modric but 5 years older. But he will have a tough job convincing Arshavin that Newcastle is the place for him as so many other clubs will probably be offering him European football next season. I think with his performance last night Zenit will be wanting 12m+ for him.

  • 5 Leo // May 15, 2008 at 10:45

PLEASE arshavin has much more than 18months worth of football he is only 27

lightening quick amazing user of the ball too

  • 6 GM // May 15, 2008 at 10:45

Top signing if we can get him, agree with other posts previously that if we were going to pay £16mil for modick than throw the cash at Zenit and give him nice big wages. I think he could be a start for us.

@James - what do you mean he only has 18months of good football left ? he is only 27 isnt he?

  • 7 Kash2 // May 15, 2008 at 10:46

Apparently Man City have made an offer of £10m for him, and Dick Advocaat admitted last night that he’s definitely leaving Zenit.

I really hope we sign this guy as he was immense when he got the opportunity to get imbetween the midfield and the defence. He was so dangerous when playing in behind the striker. He was sort of isolated on the wing though!

  • 8 Kash2 // May 15, 2008 at 10:47

However, I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes to Arsenal considering Hleb is leaving!

  • 9 TomPoon // May 15, 2008 at 10:47

Looked fantastic last night (Better than Modric IMO)

Would love us to sign him, but I think he will realistically goto Arsenal to replace Hleb

  • 10 Ed Harrison // May 15, 2008 at 10:47

Kash2 - I updated the article on the Man City bid and what Advacaat said last night

  • 11 James // May 15, 2008 at 10:48

GM - it’s mainly a reference to the amount of games he misses from suspensions for both club and country. He tackles like Scholes and often gets sent off. Could see him and Barton getting on wonderfully…..

But I expect Russia to do very well at the Euros in which case his price will go through the roof. If KK wants him he has to get him now.

  • 12 HeronMag // May 15, 2008 at 10:50

The question is ‘Is Keegan Interested?’.

I hope so. Arshavin came out openly when Allardyce was tracking him and said Newcastle would be an attractive idea. Europe is a big pull for a player like Arshavin, but the Premiership has it’s own allure. I don’t think the lack of European competition will mean too much. I think Keegan could persuade him if he wanted to.

  • 13 Graeme // May 15, 2008 at 10:54

Can Smith speak Russian by any chance???

Ashavin is a far better midfield player than anything we have at SJP and would be a great improvement to the team. Could we not swap him for Emre and some cash??? Even Emre Smith and cash lol

  • 14 figsdad // May 15, 2008 at 10:55

imagine big sam getting hold of him here and turning him into shola…

    its frighting..

waits for spurs to be intrested…
    grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • 15 KKK // May 15, 2008 at 10:55

To think when Allardyce arrived he maybe could have bought Arshavin instead of Smith. Oh what could have been…..

  • 16 James // May 15, 2008 at 10:57

Graeme - we don’t have any players that we could swap him for. So to beat off the competition he would cost around £14 million I reckon. I’d love to get him if we can but not at the expense of Veloso who is a superstar in the making

  • 17 Rich // May 15, 2008 at 11:02

18 months of good football, im sure hes 26 coming 27 soon, so 3 year contract would be awesome

  • 18 emantoon // May 15, 2008 at 11:03

    is KK reading this blog?

coz i think lots of the geordies want their opinion to be heard here!

some of the thought are a very good one, n the ever-committed ed posts about 5 articles daily just about magpies. i even refer to this blog to know latest info about newcastle.

we comment a lot here.. n hopefully someone at the management especially MA read this blog!

  • 19 Nobby's dad // May 15, 2008 at 11:03

Sad news today about the death of the Celtic great Tommy Burns.

When he came to the Toon as coach under Dalglish having been at Celtic as manager it’s well document that he told Dalglish to sign Di Canio from Celtic. Kenny chose to disregard this advice. Very sad as Di Canio would have been a Toon legend if he’d come.

  • 20 Graeme // May 15, 2008 at 11:06

James, I know that, hence the lol.

Would love to see him play in Black and White and if we then buy that little known CF spuds are chasing, some foreign guy by the name of Eto’o, we would probably have a half decent squad to pick from!!!

    I wish!!!!

  • 21 CRAIGG // May 15, 2008 at 11:18

No but Dalglish did sign Andreas Andersson, Ian Rush and Jon Dahl Tommasson so Di Canio wasnt needed as we were well stocked up front even with Shearer injured and Tino, Beardo and Les all sold on.

    Nice one Kenneth

  • 22 Spyro // May 15, 2008 at 11:19

we missed our chance to get him, the board were too cheap in January. Zenit are now in the Champions League next year and are UEFA Cup winners this year. I cant see him coming to us now, and anyway he would cost around double of what he would have before

unless something has been agreed in private since january maybe?

  • 23 James // May 15, 2008 at 11:19

Graeme - From all the reports in Portugal we have already bid for Veloso and he’s supposed to making a decision this weekend. Only if he turns us down will KK go for Arshavan. Personally I’d like both.

As for ETO’O, I wouldn’t be surprised if Manure go for him. He’s everything they need.

The frustrating position we are in as a club is that we can now afford anybody in world football and finacially compete with any team in the bidding….but we can’t offer european football which is a huge factor in getting players these days.

  • 24 Mehzeb // May 15, 2008 at 11:20

Arshavin is class. He would be a quality signing if we can get him. For Pete’s sake, if we were going to pay 16m for Look-a More-Dick, then why not 10m on Arshavin?

  • 25 Graeme // May 15, 2008 at 11:30

James, I would quite happily settle for Veloso, he’s a fine player.

As you say, theoreticaly, we can afford to go for anyone; unfortunately the reality is not quite the same. I dont think that will stop KK trying to get the best he possibly can.

For Sammy Eto’o though, I would bust the bank. I think he will score goals for fun in the Premiership, an amazing talent.

  • 26 Spyro // May 15, 2008 at 11:32

I have watched Barcelona a fair amount in the last three or so years and ETO’O would be an AVERAGE signing for Tottenham or Man U, he has everything they don’t want, over sized ego and a money grabbing mentality. Add to that he just isn’t that good any more and cant pass to save his life. He is too predictable and his strength would equal to nothing over here when playing against some decent defenders. Just remember the match against Man U in the Champions League if you don’t watch Barca much, he was arguably Barcelona’s most ineffective player out of the two legs.

  • 27 Spyro // May 15, 2008 at 11:33

Veloso and Arshavin are nothing alike so i do not know why you say we will only go after one of the two

  • 28 leather // May 15, 2008 at 11:38

Could be a great signing, but Zenit don’t need the money. It would have to be instigated by the player.

  • 29 KKK // May 15, 2008 at 11:43

    http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_3568988,00.html

Lets hope he stays in Rome!

  • 30 James // May 15, 2008 at 11:44

Arshavan is going to leave the club - the manager has already said the player wants to leave.

Spyro - financially is what I mean, it would cost close to £30 million to get both players, and I’m not sure the board would spend that on players that have never played in the PL. I think it would be one or the other….but of course I hope I’m wrong and we buy both…along with DIEGO!

  • 31 Davey G // May 15, 2008 at 11:46

First of all my condolences to Mrs Burns and all of Tommy Burns Family. .A legend at Celtic and not a bad coach of NUFC from what I have heard from people who know!!!

Arshavin, undoubtedly an excellent player and showed his class in the second half last night against the gers!! IMO opinion, he is a better player than Modric, and if we could get him for less than we offered for Modric this would be a great piece of business, its all ifs and buts!!

The worrying thing is the silence coming from the club at the minute…..can we afford these players?? Do we want these types of players?? are we active in the market or are we resting on our withered laurels and just watching how things go!! Now would be the time to act as the Euro champs is coming up and any particular european targets have the potential to have their values soar!!

I would also like us to try for players like Eto’o, huntelaar etc etc. Even if they dont sign, at least we have tried!!!!!!

  • 32 Spyro // May 15, 2008 at 11:47

fair enough James, i think Arshavin would cost around 10million now, where as if we got him in January we could have got them down from 6million to 5.5million or something. I hope this isn’t another case of Newcastle missing a good opportunity. Arshavin is a decent player. He is nowhere near as good as many on here rate him but he would be a good signing all the same.

  • 33 Arshavin4Toon // May 15, 2008 at 11:50

Arshavin is the best reachable and affordable player available for NUFC at the moment and he offers everything we need upfront: skill, pace, goals, creativity, workrate and versatility. if we can get only one player this summer he’s gonna be Arshavin. willing to give away anyone in our current squad for him, except Oba

  • 34 KKK // May 15, 2008 at 11:54

Davey G - i wouldn’t believe for one second that KK and the crew are inactive in the transfer market especially after the Modric episode. The silence could well be a blessing in disguise and I genuinely think we will have a new signing by this time next week be it Gomis, Veloso, Arshavin, etc. Fingers crossed!

  • 35 Bill F // May 15, 2008 at 12:05

I’m amazed that no one has mentioned Tymoschuck, he was immense in central defence last night for Zenit. Best player on the pitch for me. Love to see him come to us along with Arshavin and perhaps the RB
Anyo.. something. (can’t remember full name). Best player for Rangers was the defender who was substituted (can’t remember his name either, it’s not an age thing I have always been the same)

  • 36 KKK // May 15, 2008 at 12:12

    Yay!

  • 37 Micky Toon // May 15, 2008 at 12:27

Let’s all not get too excited about the performace of players last night. Remember it was against Rangers, who would be relegation fodder if they were in the PL. Ashavin is a decent player, but he’s not the solution to all of our woes. I’d like to see us sign a quality LB and RB before we sign anywhere else. Then a defensive midfielder in the David Batty in his prime mould plus Ashavin or a similar creative center midfielder would be good.
We would then have a rock solid spine of the team to build upon with Harper/Given, new CB, new DFM and Owen/Oba up front.

  • 38 Mson // May 15, 2008 at 12:42

sign Anatoliy Tymoschuk too from Zenit!!

One of the best DMs i have seen in a long time. was brilliant i matches vs munich and was very good in final (had same rating as MoM arshavin)

EDIT: apperently he was signed last year for 15m euro to zenit

  • 39 Toon_Ksk // May 15, 2008 at 12:44

    SIGN ARSE-SHAVING AT ALL COSTS!!

  • 40 Bill F // May 15, 2008 at 12:47

Err Mickey, Zenit have done the same to every top team they have come up against in their procession to the final including a world class Bayern team. To say that Rangers were rubbish is a bit harsh, I think any team would have found them hard to break down last night.

  • 41 Davey G // May 15, 2008 at 12:54

Yet another Gem from SPYRO!!!Re ETO’O
And i quote “Add to that he just isn’t that good any more ”
    ETO’OBarcelona Career record:
    2004-2005 Played 42 scored 28
    2005-2006 Played 45 scored 32
    2006-2007 Played 24 scored 13
    2007-2008 Played 20 scored 18

Career totals Played 330 scored 167
A goal every 2 games and last season almost a goal every game!!

    A very poor player!!
SPYRO your knowledge is amazing matey!!

  • 42 Graeme // May 15, 2008 at 13:00

Hey, I’d take a chance on Eto’o at SJP anytime. He would have a field day playing in a KK attacking team; score goals for fun.

    Dream on, fingers crossed lol

  • 43 Davey G // May 15, 2008 at 13:04

    KKK, i hope your correct!!
My worry is that our executive sporting person in charge of everything Director type bloke, seems to be more concerned with interviewing new coaches and board members?????

  • 44 joe // May 15, 2008 at 13:05

arshavin is a tremendous player and would need no time to settle due to the nature of his game. The 18 month comment is laughable!!! Hopeflly we will be in for him as he would be a fantastic signing and the one i’ve hoped for since january

  • 45 Davey G // May 15, 2008 at 13:09

Graeme, me too matey me too.
With the record above, and I wont even go into his assist ratio, i think if we did have any chance of signing him, it would be a major step in the direction of our target of 5th place next season.

I think any team in the EPL who need a striker would be casting an eye in the Direction of Samual ETO’O……..
    Dont you???

  • 46 Geordie Gerrard7 // May 15, 2008 at 13:11

that amara diane fella has admitted he doesnt think newcastle were watching him to le’quipe

  • 47 ELFER // May 15, 2008 at 13:17

I still have no idea if he is a left winger or a playmaker? Maybe both! In my eyes the perfect replacement for Zoggy on the left Wing?

  • 48 James // May 15, 2008 at 13:31

Elfer - Nzogbia gave an interview today to say he wants to stay at Newcastle and is looking forward to seeing who we buy this summer

  • 49 Dunc // May 15, 2008 at 13:58

After what I saw last night there will be more than just Keegan interested.

Zenit were the better side all over the pitch but this guy was the true difference between the 2 sides.

  • 50 chuck // May 15, 2008 at 14:05

Been advocating his purchase for a long time, guys got tremendus pace and skill something badly needed in the midfield, I could just imagine him in a midfield with Veloso, N`Zogbia,
SWP, But would be happy if we got even one or two of those mentioned.

  • 51 Leo // May 15, 2008 at 14:11

if anything arshavin is a right winger not a left winger but he plays attacking midfield, plays it well too

plus nzogbia is staying, just like i thought!!! gutted to those who dont like him, the press just tried to make him seem a bad person

  • 52 chuck // May 15, 2008 at 14:19

Hey ! bye the way I hear Charlie wants to stay on Tyneside , so how about getting off his back .
After all we havent heard his side of the story,
only rumors and we are all aware how the media likes to stir the sh*t it sells papers.
Face it he is still a kid, so how about it folks, give him a break.
I for one am glad he is staying, he is a player who allways gives one hundred percent and is very talented, just for chr**t sake dont play him at right back, guys best position is left midfield where he can interchange positions with Duff.
    Got that kev!

  • 53 geordie nick // May 15, 2008 at 14:29

geordie gerrard- we are apparently alreay in talks with psg about diane accoridong to setanta sports news channel

  • 54 Graeme // May 15, 2008 at 14:33

Can you just imagine Ashavin in the middle, zoggy on one side and Milner on the other with Eto’o up front with Oba and Owen!!!!!

Man, there would be goals going in from every angle, just like last time KK was here. The main difference now is that we actually have the makings of a bloody good defence as well.

Oh, bring it on baby, bring it on!!!!

  • 55 James // May 15, 2008 at 14:48

How about this for our team :

    ———————-GIVEN———————–
    BEYE——TAYLOR—-DUNNE——–SHOREY
    BENTLEY—-ARSHAVIN—VELOSO—ZOGGY
    ———————OWEN————————-
    ——————-MARTINS———————–

  • 56 Tom Cairns // May 15, 2008 at 14:59

If its going to be 4 players in this summer i reckon these would be fairly good:

    CB (Cuellar, Dunne)
    LB (Shorey, Riise)
    CM (Arshavin, Barry, Veloso)
CF (Ashton, Crouch, Gomis, Cisse, Anelka)

These seem to be the common names bandied around and you’ve got to say that with exception of LB one from each of those positions would improve our first team.

(i know we havent really been linked with Barry and would take some amount of negotiation to get in ahead of liverpool but he is pretty much perfect for what we need)

Formation predicting is lame but i am quite bored.

From those players this would be my choice for next year.

    Harper

    Beye Faye Dunne Enrique

    Arshavin Butt Barton

    Owen
    Martins Ashton

ideally i would like veloso in as well to take over form butt but even without this team seems a lot stronger.

one thing im confused about that is commonly mentioned on here is why poelpe seem sure that we will revrt to 442? when 433 has been working why?
the other thing id like to remind the people who have been suggesting midfields of zog milner arshavin etc because of our apparent really good defense these days. our defense is only looking good because of the protection being provided by the midfield of defense minded players.

  • 57 Knightbobmoncur // May 15, 2008 at 15:18

SPYRO at his best again!!! ha ha ha
Though he did say that Veloso and Arshavin dont play in the same position which shows he does have a little knowledge of footy…..though very limited!!!

  • 58 chuck // May 15, 2008 at 15:20

    A fantasy wish list
    Given
    Beye Taylor Dunne Bridge
    SWP Veloso N`Zogbia McGeady
    Anelka Martins
Yeah, heard Chelsea want to unload Anelka. Now I have heard all the negatives about him, but the stories from former teammates all describe him as a quiet shy guy and who from a spectator viewpoint has allways given 100% .
Just look at the effect he had on Bolton when he left, they dropped like a stone.
Would love to see him in the black and white!

  • 59 Spyro // May 15, 2008 at 15:44

Davey G you sad little PRAT! STOP PRETENDING TO BE TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE! lol.

EVERYBODY LISTEN UP, DAVEY G AND KNIGHTBOBMONCUR ARE THE SAME PERSON. I CAUGHT HIM OUT A FEW WEEKS BACK AND HE MADE UP SOME PATHETIC STORY OF HOW THE TWO ARE “BROTHERS”.

and by the way you arsehole, i know Eto’os goal record and i probably watch Barcelona more than you rather than simply relying on wikipedia you dickhead.

Goals scored in different leagues are the WORST way to analyse the player you idiot. If you dont know this you know jack S**T about football.

Check Kuyt and Benzema record in dutch league, and Baptista record in Sevilla. Those players have lit up the Premier League with their goal scoring capabilities aint they you prat.

REAL football fans judge players on how they play as a WHOLE. INTERNET football fans like you judge players on STATS and this is why you have a distorted view on players.

Here is a suggestion you mug, actually watch Barcelona and see if Eto’o is the type of player who would be a great player over here. Maybe two or so years ago he would have, but now he wouldnt.

Dont try to test my knowledge you silly little turd

  • 62 robertsa // May 15, 2008 at 16:00

would love it for arshavin to come like but recently all ive heard is things about kapo nd mcgeady yep they are good but nothing compared to arshavin.

    my hitlist of 5 is

    cuellar kept rangers strong
arshavin basicly won uefa for zenit
cisse top class on top form
kapo like him would be a brilliant sub
riise just tips enrique at the moment

also next season stick kadar on the bench i want to see him!!

  • 63 Spyro // May 15, 2008 at 16:03

i would go with that robertsa, i would only want risse for back up IF it is true his wages would only be 30k though.

However, i do feel it is unfair to say Arshavin won it for Zenit, there were many other players in their team who played exceptional throughout the tournament.

  • 64 robertsa // May 15, 2008 at 16:03

well spotted spyro about that davy g

    howay toon get in arshavin

  • 65 robertsa // May 15, 2008 at 16:06

cheers spyro mate. i get sick of the links with henry. lets stay simple and realistic. people like riise and cuellar are just that

  • 66 Davey G // May 15, 2008 at 16:07

Oooooooo, SPYRO Cockney boy, temper temper, or I may have to point out that Benzema actually plays in the French League and not the Dutch, and has yet to play premiership football!!!
Oh Dear you hive of Knowledge!!

Torres also had a lesser record than ETO’o and i think if you read the rest of the comments on this page, you once again, are in the minority and in most posters eyes would be WRONG!!

I have actually seen ETO’o play in the flesh 4 times now and everytime have been impressed. Like I said, check out his assist ratio.

And before you start shouting about stats, you say we should sign arshavin…on what grounds?? is it just your opinion or is his play excellent in other leagues as well as EPL!!

Consistently you are wrong and I just revel in pointing this out to you. It is actually because you spend more time watching arsey nil than you do NUFC!!

Me, I jump on an easy jet flight to Camp Nou with the boys at least three times a year to watch Barca and get lashed!! Try it some time, broaden your horizons man instead of staying at home in landan and suckling on yer mums baps!!! xx

Oh and by the way numpty heed, Knightbobmoncur is my brother so you are soooo WRONG………….AGAIN!!! You are funny

  • 67 Spyro // May 15, 2008 at 16:07

trust me Robertsa, if you check the old articles you will CLEARLY see they are the same person pretending to be two. Its pathetic and embarrassing, he should just stop it and grow up

  • 68 Spyro // May 15, 2008 at 16:08

my mistake Davey, i meant Kezman, always get those two mixed up. lol

  • 69 Spyro // May 15, 2008 at 16:12

and i have said many times that Arshavin is a GOOD player, not GREAT like many on here believe.

I judge Arshavin on his WHOLE performance. I am not mr Stat man like you, anyone can know stats on the internet, you sit in front of wikipedia searching them whilst pretending to be two people. lol.

by the way, STOP TRYING TO SELL THIS “MY BROTHER” STORY. NO ONE IS BUYING IT! lol

  • 70 robertsa // May 15, 2008 at 16:12

it would be canny sad if you were doing that like davy g but thats all im saying IM KEEPING OUT OF THIS ONE

  • 71 Spyro // May 15, 2008 at 16:18

by the way i do not care about being in the minority. I am no conformist and unlike you my motivation to comply to normative influence is in fact very low.

  • 72 Spyro // May 15, 2008 at 16:27

anyway, i am off, otherwise i will lose my whole day arguing with mugs over the internet. It is utterly pointless.

  • 73 Davey G // May 15, 2008 at 16:33

Thats it laugh off your inadequacies!!
Like i said, ETO’O s record speaks for itself, stats or no stats, as does Fernando Torres, as does Benzema oops i mean Kezman as i know an awful lot about football.

The most amusing thing was “Dont try to test my knowledge you silly little turd”!! Some knowledge.

    Some quotes from Dragoner/Spyro…

Cacapa is the best CB at the club….ha ha ha

Sam Allardyce has the team playing excellent on the pitch and running excellent off it….he he he

Stop pretending to be 2 people….ho ho ho (Says Dragoner/Spyro)

To point out just a few.
And the Eto’o one just about sums up your knowledge!! So what was the last match you attended at Camp Nou??

If you supply your E.Mail address I will supply the ticket stubs for the last four I have attended!!
By the way, I went to 2 of them with Knightbobmoncur you total knobba!!
Robertsa, indeed it is true we are brothers and you WILL see if you go back through that we sent SPYRO a response at the same time as one and other just to shut his yapping little cockney cake hole!! we just both have a good natter about this tool when we are out and the boys think he is brilliant…..soooo easy to get to bite, as his “Knowledge” is so funny! ;-)

he hasnt been to hardly any matches at st james for years!! he goes to the Arsenal games as his girlfriend is a gooner with a season ticket!!

Me however, i have held a season ticket for 16 years at St james and I know FA about nufc!!! See what I mean…………….hes a hoot!!!

  • 74 JJ // May 15, 2008 at 17:35

Spyro, Benzema = French league you clown.
Eto is world class, far better than Owen or any striker we have at the club.
I could see Chelsea going for him and with Drogba he would be unstoppable!
An an attacking midfield creater Ashavin is outstanding and far better than anything we have.
Barca hav just had a poor season, too many stars in my opinion.
Ronaldinho, Eto, Henry, Messi, Bojan, Gudjohnsen. How can they keep them all happy.
They are still all quality players.

  • 75 Dom4Toon // May 15, 2008 at 18:26

sign him up, the guy is great!

  • 76 Obafan // May 15, 2008 at 20:36

Arshavin did not doi it on his own for Zenit, but man he had a great part of it. I think it would be very stupid not to go after him and try to get him.

Another thing here is why do you say Veloso or Arshavin? They both play in another position; Veloso is CDM or LB and Arshavin CAM or RW/LW. So I really can’t understand your way of thinking to be honnest.

My top list for the transfers ATM (maybe it has changed from last time ;-) )
    1. ARSHAVIN (his performances say enough)
    2. GOMIS (great future)
    3. VELOSO (great player to cover our defence, maybe together with Butt who knows)
    4. BARZAGLI (Italian giant who wants to leave hic club)
    5. SWP (what a right side we would have Beye - SWP)

Come on KK work your magic to make us a strong squad again!!!

  • 77 Newcastle United. // May 15, 2008 at 20:47

Keegan must of been watching the game and thought, Wow. He’s what we need.

    Quite easily happen this.

  • 78 gallowgate31 // May 16, 2008 at 23:07

I would love to see them sign up, was amazed at Ashavin’s age though, he looks alot younger but what a talent,

this Turkish fella would fit in well too.

    Here’s hoping eh!

  • 79 Ilya // May 17, 2008 at 10:21
