Turkish papers confirming 11m pounds bid for Arda. Galatasaray board is considering the offer however Galatasaray fans are totally against the sale, the price is not enough to convience the supporters. Arda still has a mission next year, and he will play in champions league - newcastle may not be a very tempting club. Emre will be a huge factor tho, if Keagen is willing to build the midfield with emre and arda, then it may convience arda. I will say, 50/50 for the transfer to go through until another club shows interest! If toons want him, they need to complete the deal b4 euro08.

In response to gsfan. Having followed the development of arda for a few years now I am convinced that arda has what it takes to be as good as C Ranaldo. Gsfan is right everytime arda goes near the ball in Turkey he is surrounded by at least three opposition players yet he still managers to dribble his way out of trouble. His short powerfull legs ensures that he manages to stay on his feet all the time and he is difficult to dislodge from the ball - this will be an asset in the pysically demanding epl. He is also much quicker that what people give him credit for. He is a good shot on goal although at gala he seems to be more interested in setting up the king of Turkish soccer hakan sukur rather than shooting himself. He can get around players with less effort than C.Ronaldo whereas C Ronaldo seems to have to jump through hoops to pass an opponent arda seems to just glide past opponents. The only thing seperating C Ronaldo and arda at the moment is C Ronaldo's goal scoring. I have no doubt that should arda be given a licence to go for goal as Ronaldo has been given - then the next big thing in world soccer will be arda turan.

SWP has ruled out a move away from chelski, he is obviously happy keeping his arse warm and taking the money in place of actually playing footy! he has lost his drive. i notice that his diamond earings are so big now that they look fcuking stupid. LAZY FAT CAT!

First off, yeah he has 7 goals and 9 assists in his record for the season so far (with 3 of those goals being in the championship decider match against Sivasspor). But this lad's main contribution can't really be seen from statistics as he focuses on keeping defenders busy and taking them out instead to create opportunities for his teammates. He might not even get a lot of direct assists because he tends to be the one that builds up a play rather than just doing the finishing touches.

GeordieGerrard7, I'd say there is an "Arda hype" at the moment because he led us to the title above the likes of the favorites Fenerbahce. And good for him because he well deserves such praise like that. Thing is though there is that issue of uncertainty whether he might be able to perform on the same level in the premiership due to various reasons (e.g: adaptation, etc.). I'll be honest, it's not really like going out there and picking up someone who you know for sure will be a star player like Christiano Ronaldo. So there is that uncertainty and risk factor when buying Arda and 11m pounds (as the papers project) sounds a bit too steep for him as it is now. However, if he does perform in Euro 2008 then he would be justifying this 11m "bid premium". The only reason for his value to be at 11m as I see it is because he's on the spotlight now where clubs 'may' become interested in him which undoubtedly has an effect on his value. But I'd say Newcastle definitely has a chance to get him, it is the Premiership after all and everyone knows almost every team is of quality there in terms of European standards.

But that's where the risk factor comes in, if you buy him before the others do with a massive bid of 11m right now he could either perform really well and become double or even triple the value when he plays for you guys, or he could turn out to be a major flop and that would be 11m gone down the drain. So the decision is more like should you take the risk or not. He seemed pretty consistent in the Turkish league like I mentioned before but there is that uncertainty if he can do the same there.

Oh and as a final note, I'd say it's way too early to compare Arda to the likes of Hagi. Hagi really was a true legend. Nihat is also a player who has proven his worth in La Liga for the past 4-5 years or so and helped Villareal become the runner-up in the Spanish League above the likes of Barcelona while also having done such an achievement before when he was in Real Sociedad. Arda's only record so far is leading Galatasaray to the title and I'm sure he hopes to add to that record in Euro 2008. I'll be perfectly honest saying this though, due to the Arda hype that's going on, don't be surprised if some things about him are exagerrated at times. But one thing's for sure, this kid definitely has the potential to perform, it's just down to whether or not you can squeeze the potential out of him under those circumstances.

lads, i would say our chances of getting this player are slim at best. he is shit hot and as of now - if they didnt already know it - the whole world will know. it does not help that fergie has said he is looking for a left winger too aswell as a striker. our only chance of getting this bloke is to offer big money right bloody now so that galatasary accept. the longer it goes on, the smaller our chances and given the fact that our baord are on their new sensible route, there is no chance of going over the top on an offer or salary. if fat fred was here he would have signed already, which way was right though. at least we are stable now eh. we also need keegan and probably owen over there along with emre sweet talking the lad cos lets be honest denis and mortisha do not do alot for our club in terms of convincing people to play for us!!
i give us a two out of ten chance on this one. lets concentrate on getting crouch in and maybe SWP, they are more realistic. sorry but thats the way i see it.

Hey mates, I'm a Galatasaray fan and just want to note that this lad is our star player. He led us to the championship title this year above the likes of Fenerbahce (who have proven their worth more than enough this year in the CL).

Every fan knows this kid's way too good for the team but we really need him as well. Our biggest fear was that he might have gotten spoiled after becoming the star player of a top flight club in the Turkish league but it seems his performance hasn't dropped one bit throughout the season.

Ye he's a winger alright and will pounce on any opportunities you give him (be it creating goals all by himself or scoring it himself) provided that the other team isn't aware of his capabilities (i.e: The game against Liverpool in the match where they got wasted 3-1 or something). Most teams just stick about 2 players on him to mess him up since his physical appearance is rather weak. Oh and I doubt he would really demand 50k a week according to some sources as he's been payed peanuts currently compared to that sort of cash.

In summary, I'd say this lad's the best young talent Turkish football has ever seen since Nihat Kahveci. He's a young talent so it's all up to the coach to bring out the potential in him! Take good care of him if you do get him and just keep in mind this guy's performances fluctuate depending on the atmosphere the fans can create for him.

Hey mates, I’m a Galatasaray fan and just want to note that this lad is our star player. He led us to the championship title this year above the likes of Fenerbahce (who have proven their worth more than enough this year in the CL).

Every fan knows this kid’s way too good for the team but we really need him as well. Our biggest fear was that he might have gotten spoiled after becoming the star player of a top flight club in the Turkish league but it seems his performance hasn’t dropped one bit throughout the season.

Ye he’s a winger alright and will pounce on any opportunities you give him (be it creating goals all by himself or scoring it himself) provided that the other team isn’t aware of his capabilities (i.e: The game against Liverpool in the match where they got wasted 3-1 or something). Most teams just stick about 2 players on him to mess him up since his physical appearance is rather weak. Oh and I doubt he would really demand 50k a week according to some sources as he’s been payed peanuts currently compared to that sort of cash.
