Sorry, forgot he had just signed for Hercules. He has only played a season there, so I think he is still adapting. When we bought Nobby, he ws already one of the stars in Boca Juniors (and let me tell you, if you csn handle the pressure of playing at Boca, u can handle anything). He kept a young Riquelme on the bench, and he was ready imo. Agents in Newcastle love to mention Newcastle because of the link with Nobby, but nothing else, in the same way they mention Bayern Munich because Guerrero and Pizarro played there. I woudl read too much into the agent’s comments.

Vargas though…what did you think?

His agent has obviously been reading “The Newcastle Blog” and has come to the conclusion the club is so desperate to make a signing , having been rebuffed by so many clubs and snubbed by mediocrities, that they will sign anyone.

Hi there,

I am Peruvian, been in England for 7 years, and have been reading this blog for ages. First became Newcastle fan when Nobby started playing for us.

Anyway, to Marino, yep agreed, he’s not good enough. Solano was way waaaaay better at his age. He needs to play in tougher leagues like the Argentinian, or perhaps second division in Spain to be anyway near ready for the premiership.

Tell you which peruvian we SHOULD be going for though: Juan Vargas, left back at Catania, Italy. Has played in Argentina also. Greatest talent since Noby. Although it is certain he’s signing for REal Madrid, but check him out:

seetow i can tell you that he can cross and he does have a sweet right foot and is a lot quicker than nobby, don’t know about the trumpet though lol but nobby is certainly brilliant at that

hey i just found a player named park Chu young in you tube.he is currently playing in Korean league or something.i know that league is a poor one…but this guy has got great pace and good finishing skills.he might be better than this guy named Marino and also might be cheaper

All it will take is one quality signing for sensible money and paying a sensible wage and all this will stop. The silence on any real transfer info is doing us no favours; whether it be for the patience of the fans or the PR of the club.

Everyone knows we need players desperately so the longer this goes one and the more we need, the harder it will be.
