There is news today that Wigan manager and local Newcastle lad Steve Bruce, would like to take Charles N’Zogbia to Wigan for £3.5M.
Charles N’Zogbia – going nowhere for £3.5M
For £3.5M, we’re sure a lot of Premier Clubs would like to take Charles off our hands, but there’s no chance N’Zogbia will move for that type of money.
There were positive signs from Charles that he may want to stay on Tyneside, and he said after the end of last season that he was happy at Newcastle. Whether he will still be at the club come August we just don’t know.
Certainly Kevin Keegan doesn’t want to lose the young Frenchman, and it would be in Charles’ interest to stay at Newcastle because Keegan will him a much better player.
Kevin has already made Newcastle into a much more attacking side than it ever would have been under Sam Allardyce, when Charles was used as a left-back most of the time.
Charles is a Keegan type of player because he is naturally attacking, and in the first half of the season he was probably Newcastle’s best player, before he was injured playing for the French Under-21 side.
It will take a lot more than £3.5M to take Charles to another club, but we hope he decides to stay at Newcastle United for his future football development.
Comments welcome.

Comment #2The squad pruning we need to do should not include N’Zogbia if he wants to stay. And why would he want to go to Wigan ??
This is a savage view of squad pruning needed I thought:

Comment #3This story is a product of the Daily Mirror Mirror on the toilet wall outfit. So it is rubbish. According to the Sun we are competing with Arse and All for Derdiyok. In other words they are trying to sell him to that rag. NUFC must tie Zog down soon – not just to keep such a talented player in the squad but also to squash these stupid unsettling press gang tactics.

Comment #4There is more chance of us bringing back Shitus Shambles for £3.5 million than there is of The Zog going to Wigan for ANY amount of money!!
I mean, no disrespect to those who live there, but WHY would you go there???? Its populated by in-breds ffs.

Comment #6If he goes to Pompey they can finish their All Black Eleven. We could swap for Kranjcar – they’d take it, I’m sure. Who wants white players, though?

Comment #20N’zogbia has 4 years left after signing a new deal when big sam come in, he has openly come out and said he wants to stay at the club!! and called the media for the c**p they printed about the Faye arguement!
he’s young quality and talented and all the gossip are linking us to this type of player/players!! especially from France and the rest of Europe! with most expected to be priced over £8million
its all Bull, all keegan needs to do is play him in the right position left wing!! or attacking midfield!! he’ll only get better if the regime show the players we are keeping, some confidence,in there ability this intern will help bring in Quality we need!! proving ambition

Comment #25Err….okay – just take one player, say, Fabregas. I imagine Fabregas would be valued at around 30M or more if he became available. Does that make him ten times the player that Zog is (according to the Wigan link rumours)? I don’t think that he’s even twice the player Zog is. We should learn to value and nurture the talent we have.

if ashley, and keegan want to build Quality and youth into the team and push us in the right direction he needs to step up to the mark!

a) hes worth at least 3 times that much.
b) why would he want to leave NUFC and go to Wigan?
c) if he did go thered be much more appealing options for him
and d) why the hell would he want to go and work for that pudding faced fake geordie 2nd rate manager Steve ‘i understand Geordies cos i am one’ Bruce when he could work for King Kev

Comment #34Wigan 3.5 million, is that for Geremi. They should not bother with the phone call from fat face with the bulbous nose. They should give the locals some money to put their toilets in the house. Instead of the back beside their horse.
