Michael Owen has again sang the praises of Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan.
Kevin Keegan - Newcastle captain sings his praises today
Michale Owen talked again to the Evening Chronicle this morning, and reflected on the impact Kevin Keegan has had on the side’s performances this year:
“He’s had a massive impact.”“It was never going to happen straight away.”
“Not only did we have some tough games, but when he came we had a lot of players low on confidence.”
“But if you could ever ask for a man to pick people up and get the best out of them, it’s Kevin Keegan.â€
And Owen thinks that Newcastle will improve even more under Keegan next season, regardless of who Kevin brings in during the summer.
Michael continued:
“I think there is more improvement to come from that aspect too.”
“We all enjoy training and playing alongside each other.”
“Kevin has brought a real feel-good factor into the club.”
“When you enjoy training you do your job better.â€
The plan is certainly for Kevin to add some new talent to the squad in the summer, but we also want to ensure that Owen, Taylor and our other good players, are also kept at the club, but from what Michael says, it hardly looks like he wants to leave the Tyneside club.
Michael seems to be looking forward to playing a lot more for the man who’s made it clear that Owen will be a top player for him and Newcastle in the future.
Michael went on:
“He obviously knows his stuff.”
“He can see a player and he can see things that need tweaking.”
“Tactically he is very good.”
“And I think he has been a fantastic appointment for us and we’ve all enjoyed his time so far.â€
Sign a new contract soon Michael, and we for one will be a lot happier.

Good to hear Owen praising the gaffer. Let’s hope the bosses can get his new contract sorted out quickly. Along with Taylor’s and Oba’s.

didnt kk quit the england job as he thought he wasnt as tactically aware as he should be. i felt him quitting england was because he felt he wasnt a good enough manager to get the best out of the players.
i reckon owen is talking him up in the hope kk has a word with ashley so he doesnt get a pay cut.

A swiss newspaper reports that newcastle maybe want to unload MARTINS and DUFF…
I wouldn’t mind DUFF but hopefully we can stick by MARTINS!! Maybe he has to cut a bit of wage becouse he’s a very big wage earner?

I think that this indicates Owen is not going anywhere. Taylor is not going anywhere, nor is Martins. Charlie is not going either. All gutter press invention.

Hopefully the rumoured new wages ceiling is for a maximum SQUAD total rather than for individual players.This will allow Keegan more room to manouvre in the transfer market as he could offer Owen more than £80,000 per week by selling the likes of Alan Smith and Damien Duff.
Why impose restrictions on a manager when he could keep his best players by sacrificing the under acheivers? As long as the total wage bill is under a set target what does it matter that a current World Class player at your club is on £110,000 a week?

one of the key factors in our team not performing compared with the outlay on wages is also the quality and value of the coaching staff, we have failed badly in this aspect compared to other teams in the past
the top four all have quality managers and staff and so now do some of the teams around us, sadly KK isn’t as good as the top four managers and the likes of ramos and co! the leagues a lot strong and different then when KK last manged newcastle so I don’t think we can really use the ‘he nearly did it before’ angle either.
but atleast we’ll be entertained with good football for a change.
will probably be crusified for these coments by most, but only time will tell if i’m right? of course I hope I’m wrong, I do think we’ve a chance at a carling cup or something in the future though which would be something we should all be happy with.
