Richard………I know you’re only about 5 but try and follow this.

If you get a good price for players sold this will mean as a club we have more to spend (see gibving them away would not be good). Lowering wages means we get rid of Chelsea / Man Utd reject’s who are on massive wages and can look for up and coming players who will be hunger and will play for less.

It’s not rocket science son! It’s not Mike Ashley#s problem – it’s an issue for all who live the their club – ask the Leeds fans if you want confirmation.

I dont understand why people care so much about receiving good price for a player and lowering wages. this is not our problem its mike ashlys all i care about is bringing the players in.

I’m not sure that the Emre transfer is a “done deal”. Can someone verify that this deal won’t be finalized unless he comes out of Euro ‘08 with no injury problems? I have seen rumors to that effect.

Emre was never consistant enough. he came from inter with a big rep’ but never proved himself as a class player. i wont be sad to see him go. i think we can do better. Sure, he had a few good games, but so have alot of players who have flopped in the past… If we get 3m plus for him, id be happy.

Chill down. Emre was maybe a quality player, but we hardly ever seen it in the newcastle shirt.

First of all i have my spleen to vent… I cannot believe some people on here, especially ronaldeano accusing Mike Ashley of being tight with his money. He is the bloke who saved this club from oblivion. We would not be here today if it was not for him. Â£250m being tight? FFS lets run this club proffessionally for a change (as Ashley looks to be doing) and ronaldeano go and put your dim witted remarks on another site!

secondly I would just like to wish Emre all the best for the future. I’m a bit sad to see him leave but can understand him going. And who could forget his free kick against the mackems? Worth the transfer fee itself!

Theres a lot of doom and gloom around at the moment, what with all the departures and talk of many more to follow. However on a contradictory note by the top brass, we did put a sizable bit in for Modric. Modric is one of the most up and coming players of his generation. There was also a Â£8m bid in for Woodgate. So i believe that we may be clearing the decks at the moment and the wage bill, there will be bids for top, top players in the near future. Lets just wait and see. If criticism is deserved, then lets save it for the first game of the season, when we can see the blu-print for ourselves.

I’ll be very happy if the Crouch rumor turned out to be true. He could really add height and strength into our formation, and Owen & Martins could play off him. It would be an excellent acquisition if we landed Peter Crouch. Plus, Â£8m is good value for an established England international.

I cant believe some fans are unhappy & gutted that Emre is leaving….What has he actually done in his time at newcastle??He was bought as being the Turkish Maradona…..I never saw anything to put him that catagory….Yeah at times he showed glimpses of a good player but never done it consistantly…These are the types of players we need out of the club.Players on high wages who are just fringe players..Another thing people keep going on about Emre being this Attacking creative midfielder,well Im sorry like but he always looked more defensive than attacking the only thing he attacked was a player who fowled him…Trim the wage bill with these types of players to be able to keep our top players….Anyway with Emre gone maybe just maybe we might see the best out of Nzogbia,because he is a much better attacking midfielder….
