Rozehnal Plays Full Game For Czech Republic

We watched Scotland beaten 3-1 yesterday, and Newcastle’s David Rozehnal played the full game for the Czech Republic.

David Rozehnal – will move to Lazio after Euro 2008?

We signed David last year from PSG for £2.8M but he never seemed to comfortable in the Premier league and made some major mistakes that gave away goals, although more often than not he looked a decent player.

Rozehnal of course went on loan to Lazio at the end of January, after Keegan was playing him as a defensive midfileder, and he looked quite good in yesterday’s game.

At 6’3″ tall, he is good in the air, but we don’t think he will return to Newcastle, and think his game is better suited to the Italian or Spanish leagues, where he should do well.

But it wouldn’t surprise us at all if the Å ternberk, Czechoslovakia born 27 year old has a good Euro 2008 tournament for his country.

He has played 42 times for the Czech Republic, and is still their number one choice at center-back. We would expect that a good tournament will see Lazio move in and take up their option to purchase the player.

The fee will probably be very close to the money we paid PSG for him a year ago.

It seems that David could never get used to the physical nature of the game in England, although he always looked a good professional.

Rozehnal appeared 21 times for Newcastle last season.

Well I always thought he was a confidence player… and he was at his worst with Big Sam, I would like to see how a fully motivated Rozehnal would play under KK at CB, because Taylor can still learn from him. He needs to beef up this summer and I think he can be as good for us as Habib Beye is

I think he will have a good Euro 2008

Just not suited to the EPL and could not handle the physical nature of the game over here. He is more suited to the technical continental game

hes not as bad as everyones making him out to be.
vidic had a shite first 6months at man u and now hes one of the best CB’s in the world
even skrtel at liverpool … complete crap against H&W in fa cup … but now looks solid and keeping hypia out of the side
if he would of stayed till end of season his from would have improved
but then again thats my opinion … i thuaght hugo viana was the best thing since sliced bread when we signed him haha

might be true what you say, but there’s no way for the team spirit that KK should take him back after what he said in the press! Get rid of him.

Hey if we manage to get EMANA, GOMIS and maybe a LB backup we will be extremely fine next year!! If reports are true that DUFF will be sold we might could get in ARSHAVIN as replacement and that would be an outstanding team next season!!

With Emre seemingly on his way back to Turkey, Barton in prison and Liverpool amongst others wanting milner and Duff possibly on his way. Then i wonder Who the hell is going to be in our midfield next season?i hope the reports are true that we are already in contact for emana.

I don’t think Roz has had a fair chance so far, I would like to see him have a season under KK before we judge his abilities, then if he aint up to the EPL let him go. We should still recoup what he cost.
As for Viana I think a lot of people thought he was a flashy creative midfielder which he wasn’t. Again I think he was wrongly used and could have done more for us than he was allowed to. He did OK back in Portugal in his proper position, I know a lot of people would disagree with me but there you go thats my opinion.
