Arda Turan Waiting On Newcastle To Make Offer

Galatasary star Arda Turan’s agent has said his client is ‘waiting’ for Newcastle to make some move.

Arda Turan – waiting on Newcastle United and being fouled by Gerrard 😀

The Euro 2008 Championships start today, and it was thought that Newcastle wanted to get a deal for the young Galatasary star, before the competition got under way.

His agent Ahmet Bulut said yesterday:

“Arda would love a move to England but we are waiting for Newcastle to make their move.”

“A lot of clubs want him.”

“He is a great player and people will see that at Euro 2008.”

The 21-year-old has already represented his country 19 times even though he doesn’t turn 22 until next January.

In a recent interview on Turkish television Arda talked about a possible transfer to Newcastle United:

“I am not sure what will happen with Newcastle, they are a great club with great fans but we will have to see what happens.”

“Moving to England is something I would like as it would be a big step for me in my career.”

“I am looking forward to the European Championships starting so I can show everyone what I can do and maybe I will speak to my good friend Emre about it while I am here.”

Arda’s countryman and team-mate Emre is currently in the process of moving from Newcastle to Fenerbache, although that deal is still not complete.

Fenerbache, who are Galatasaray’s fierce rivals in Turkey, are still negotiating wages with the 27 year-old Turkish International, but a fee has been agreed between the two clubs.

But it does look like Turan has a good view of the Newcastle club, and that’s probably coming directly from Emre, which would be good.

Come on Newcastle – get a move on – before he plays great for Turkey in Euro 2008.

He would be an excellent first buy for the summer for Newcastle fans, and then we could all watch him play in Euro 2008, and hope he has a stormer.

Comments welcome.

“A lot of clubs want him.”

That statement worries me. Its either just a ploy by Bulut to get us to wrap up some sort of deal quickly, or it is actually true and depending on what clubs they are, and whether he plays a blinding Euro 2008 campaign, we could see much more of a problem signing him i feel.

I wouldn’t listen to what Bulut has too say to be honest. He’s been saying the same things to other clubs about Emre since we signed him.

Anyone read any of the comments Elfer has left over the last few days? seems to have some sort of relegation wish for us next year, hopes that we don’t sign players like Turan!? :O. Ridiculous.

He lad and gala, In an interview both said that they both wanted to wait until the end of the euros!
things may be rapped up and the chairmain may be saying negative things to keep his fans onside until the transfer window actually opens july 1st!
so it looks like hes pushing for every penny! or is he?

this is good that he has said this in public, cos we now know that if mort, wise and ashley try to make out that we lost out on him etc then we know its shit. we have not even made the bid. he wants to come, he is cheap at the price they want for him, he is young and has massive potential. i jsut dont get it. why offer 16 million for modric (or so they say) but not offer 11 for turan. i am so bored with a lack of activity, most clubs are doing something now but not us. We should have got dunne when we had the chance. Sparky is not daft and the first thing he has said is that dunne stays and will get sorted out…more dithering. i see there is even a delay in sending out the renewal forms this year too for us. thats a good job cos it gives newcastle a bit of time to buy in some hope for us fans for next year otherwise i feel that there will be many that do not renew. 500 quid for what exactly??

Surely the logical thing to do would be to stop Emre talking to Fenerbahce and give him back to Galatasaray to sweeten the deal.

Selling a Gala legend to their Enemies aint going to win us any favours with their Chairman

Too late now tbh. He’s going to attract a lot of other clubs after this tournament, and we’ll once again miss out on a player. KK needs to get a kick up the arse and realise that you have to make a move early or else you don’t get what or who you want.

Oba its not KKs fault its that cockney piece of shit, He went to negotiate with Gala just like he did with Modric

Wise has too much input, I thought he was a scout for young players not someone who can tell our Manager a proven experienced CB is too old at 28 or to fly out and speak to first team players, I was under the imression that was KKs domain.

KK persuaded Rob Lee, David Ginola, Tino Asprilla, Warren Barton and of course Alan Shearer by selling the club to them and lying in Lee’s case but he is a very positive and entusiastic person who can change peoples minds and has done many times.

Somehow googly eyes doesnt seem a very persuasive man.

Love to see Arda Turan to be our midfield leader
Joey to prison makes us buy in this summer~wif the getting older of Nicky Butt, we need to search at least 2 midfielders~Arda shuld be one of them~tackful~pass well~not an injury prone~
Wif him~we can play entertaining football~

Also add Zigic(if cant bid Gomis) wifout using Jose in the clause~hes got his potential..and we are in short of players in defence line~Zigic is a realistic target for us~and useful as well

Then also add a central defender, LB as Shorey and defensive midfielder as Veloso

    433 in next season
    Given
    Beye Coloccini S.Taylor Shorey
    Geremi Veloso A.Turan
    Martins Zigic Owen

    442
    Given
    Beye Coloccini S.Taylor Shorey
    J.Milner Veloso A.Turan Zog/Duff
    Owen Zigic

wise and jimenez’s job is to sign players what KK has approved … so it will free up KK for training and coaching duties.
seen as tho all the players are on holiday now i dont see why KK isnt involved in transfers
i just want them all too justify there wages … they have done very little to warrant 6 months pay in my opinion

Personally need to know KK input into all these alleged “dealings”. If he is not involved then I really am not interested in the little cross eyed Wise input. Anyway according to The Journal we had made a bid . Dont know why we mock the red sheets when local papers ( especially Anal Oliver) utter just as much crap.

Agree wi Craigg on this one let KK sell the club as he has had no problem in the past.
If we are going to get Turan it needs to be in next 24 hours or we acn forget it as he will be spoilt for choice after the Euro’s.
If you DO want it to happen then get moving MA.

The thing that most folks appear to be forgetting is that the Turkey side is not very good, certainly are not fancied to progress past the group stages.

They will probably be out in a fortnight, then we will be free to sign him, hopefully without much competition.
