Liverpool Offer 3 Players For Milner

It seems that Newcastle United are less than impressed with the way Liverpool FC are conducting their transfer business this summer.

Rafa Benitez – transfer business done in public

Aston Villa manager Martin O’Neill was not happy with the way Liverpool have gone after their prized English International midfielder Gareth Barry, who seems to play so well with Steven Gerrard for England.

Martin O’Neill never went public with the players he was offered by Liverpool, but the Newcastle Evening Chronicle today is indicating that Benitez has offered 19-year-old defenders Emiliano Insua and Jack Hobbs to Newcastle, plus a third youngster.

We’ve watched Jack Hobbs a few times, and the 6’3″ center-back appeared twice for Liverpool last season. He’s also played twice for the England Under-21 side, and looks a very decent prospect, from our viewpoint.

The third player offered by Liverpool was said by a Newcastle United source to be so unknown, they cannot even remember his name. 😀

Insua is an Argentinian, born in Buenos Aires, and played for Liverpool Reserves at St. James Park towards the end of last season, and was signed from Boca Juniors last summer.

He plays left back and stands just 5’5″ tall, and he appeared 5 times for Liverpool last season. He’s played 5 times for the Argentine Under-20 side and once for their Under-23 side this year.

Jack Hobbs, (my mind jumps to cricket every time I write that name), who was born in Peterborough, has been on loan at Scunthorpe United since the January transfer window and played there 9 times and scored one goal.

While we don’t want to lose James Milner to any club, we think Hobbs may be a good capture, if Liverpool are willing to let him go on a straight cash deal.

We’re glad to hear that Newcastle are annoyed at the Liverpool approach, and not too impressed with the players offered, and we will assume that means Milner will be going nowhere this summer.

We certainly hope that’s the case, although we think Jack Hobbs is a future good player in the making.

Comments welcome.

this is a load of crap am not being funny but insua is going no were he is an exciting prospect and rafa would never include him in any deal for milner. kk tried to sign him already but was told no. milner is a good player but would only be a squad player at liverpool.

Tell you what if it was us offering our crap players for better ones (as Toonholic has suggested) we would be saying what a great move. You can’t blame Benitez for trying, so long as he don’t succeed.

    lmao, geordies are funny.

I wouldn’t swap Insua for Milner straight up, he’s almost definitely a future argentinian international, and has more talent and potential in his toe than milner has all round.

complete BS made up by ur journos.

    He is actually 5’8″

There is no way thta Rafa would let him leave Liverpool, especially for a no mark such as Milner, who has achrived nothing in his career with a load of no mark teams.

Toon4lyf – in yesterdays article (gossip) they were thinking of offering £10million !!
yes IMO I believe Milner is talented he just needs more of a chance like zog!! overall a better player than Geremi!!!
even with offering these reserve players It just proves he is better than what a lot of our fans think of him!!!

Riise is ova the hill!!! and liverpool wouldnt sell crouch if he was as good as people say!! he’d want a large wage!! where going backwards not forwards!

As a red, i think though milner has qualities, i would rather keep Insua, while Hobbs and Guthrie would struggle to get into the 1st team with their positions over subscribed they might do a good job for Newcastle. Insua could be the future at left back for LFC, I hope we don’t lose him just to get Milner.

Ten Million or a straight swop for Crouch…three reserves they are taking the p@ss to be honest.

I think James will jump at the chance to join Liverpool..with regards his development I don’t think he will get much better than he already is.

Especially for a team like Liverpool who may continue to play in the CL for now but in the next few years they’ll be overtaken by Tottenham, Everton or maybe even us depending on how we buy in the next few seasons.

In short, Liverpool is a sh*t city and a failing club with overrated fans who nobody can really stand.

And for f*cks sake stop letting supporters of other teams post. If we deny them a voice it’ll only enrage them which is quite humourous for us.

Do people actually still think Milner is all that good? As far as I can see he lacks pace, can’t cross and he plays far too much with his head down. He sometimes goes past one player with a canny dribble but usually messes it up straight away when he does.

If someone offered me £10m for him I’d bite their arm off.
