Maybe this is part of a deal that involves Afellay, a premiership club has had a bid accepted.
Very wishful thinking on my part
2 toon4life // Jun 26, 2008 at 10:28 PM

Saw it site, well it said they had bid, think it said accepted.
It was Huntelaar and Afellay, apparently its all over TV, news and radio in Holland.

Think so.

Tom_Toon, a bid for huntelaar accepted aswell?
i havent heard of many prem clubs being linked with huntelaar or Afellay through the summer, but maybe i just havent been looking for it?
who you think it could be?
9 Punk Skunk // Jun 26, 2008 at 10:35 PM
This would be kool!..
10 Punk Skunk // Jun 26, 2008 at 10:37 PM
Heard any prices bandied about?..
11 Alex // Jun 26, 2008 at 10:37 PM
Tom Toon
there is nothing on dutch tv or radio or teletext about affelay or huntelar.
12 Tom_Toon // Jun 26, 2008 at 10:37 PM
probably Arsenal for Afellay and Man Utd for Huntelaar.
I recon Aston Villa might be in for Afellay, just a feeling, they need a right winger.
13 Tom_Toon // Jun 26, 2008 at 10:38 PM
Maybe its just a rumour then, i dont know, i dont live in Holland. Just relaying what i heard, a few people were saying it.
14 Punk Skunk // Jun 26, 2008 at 10:39 PM
Is he out & out RW?..
15 Tom_Toon // Jun 26, 2008 at 10:42 PM
Nah, can play in the centre too.
16 Alex // Jun 26, 2008 at 10:42 PM
it is a rumour then .There is nothing in the media here in holland about those 2.
17 Ross // Jun 26, 2008 at 10:43 PM
aye huntelaar has been linked with man u quite a bit before. could see that happening.
im completly clueless as to who we’re going to sign. everything has been so quiet, so many names, that i’m not even going to try and follow rumours, im just gonna wait till the conference room.

looks a good run out for pre season shame most the games are elsewhere…
19 Punk Skunk // Jun 26, 2008 at 10:54 PM
Which maybe goes some way to prove that the board aren’t just after our cash, otherwise most of the pre season would be at home?..
20 Punk Skunk // Jun 26, 2008 at 10:55 PM
Should be a good test!..

I have heard it’s United for both Afellay and Huntelaar. Man United that is.
Btw. those two would be brilliant
22 Spyro // Jun 26, 2008 at 11:10 PM
still not even a quarter of the replacement needed for Ronaldo though is it, lol
Man United could sign Sneijder, Robinho, S.Ramos, and Casillas in exchange for Ronaldo and i would still be over the moon.
23 richmondmag // Jun 27, 2008 at 12:26 AM
well huntelaars just rejected inter so a dont hink theres much chance of him coming here.

Once again Newcastle appear to be slow out the blocks.
I cant believe we are still organising friendly fixtures !
We’re about 2 weeks away from pre-season, no players (that we’re aware of ) and only now do we appear to be finalising our games.
Well as long as everyone at Newcastle have had a nice relaxing holiday……now pull your finger out boys.

Guardian recons Arshavin will go to Barca as they confirm they are interested in him
26 nightfall // Jun 27, 2008 at 9:16 AM
IF we’ve really sign arshavin…i mean..that’s great…hope zhirkov will follow…
as for arshavin’s performance yesterday…noone can play at the top level every match…so don’t panic…
as for euros…spain’s the best team of the tournament, but germans are the only one who can beat them…so it will be an interesting final

28 ronaldeano // Jun 27, 2008 at 9:22 AM
Why hasent Arshavin been monitored by big clubs years ago? He is 27 years old!
He has a couple of good games for his country and all of a sudden he’s a world beater?
He was non existent last night, yet he was amazing last game?
We would be better off with someone younger who is more consistant anyway
29 nightfall // Jun 27, 2008 at 9:25 AM
“He has a couple of good games for his country and all of a sudden he’s a world beater?”
wtf??…he was awesome this whole season..
30 nightfall // Jun 27, 2008 at 9:36 AM
he had ONE poor match (in whole season)…noone of the russian side played well, so you can’s judge…he’s way better then anything we have…so he’s more then welcome!
31 ronaldeano // Jun 27, 2008 at 9:37 AM
@Nightfall, then why hasent he been watched by the big boys before he turned 27? Thats all im saying, he was made to look average last night by Fabregas, Xavi and Silva. All im saying is that he could be a flash in the pan because he would have been playing for Barca or whoever, years ago if he is consistant enough
32 ronaldeano // Jun 27, 2008 at 9:39 AM
I would still love to see him at NUFC, but is not going to happen now, so im just making myself feel better by nit picking
33 CRAIGG // Jun 27, 2008 at 9:47 AM
Gomes is far from World class, He is shite on crosses and makes some horrendous mistakes.
All he is good for is his long throw out which will benefit Spurs counter attacks.
34 nightfall // Jun 27, 2008 at 9:50 AM
i know what you mean…but look at the likes of ronaldo, gomez,…they all had poor matches…so don’t judge just yet…look at torricelli…he became a professional at the age of 27…and he played for italian national side…
yes..arshavin became a complete player at the age of 26…so? people need time to ( don’t know)..gain confidence? the fact is people change…we all have and we all still will… but arshavin proved us all he can play at the top level…he’s been showing that to us this whole season…
all i’m saying is that life is full of surprises, and that enerything is possible
