He had his last chance when we signed him for Â£5.8m and offered him a huge wage packet???!!!

is it true that he refused to accept a wage-cut to hold his place in the team? if so sack him – he’s more concerned about squeezing $ out from the fans who have hardly seen him play like even just half the player this club paid 5.8m for. i’d say 5K a week at most until he’s out and resumes training. then on top of that a pay-as-you-play/sit (on the bench) deal until he picks up his form. that’s the best deal for a prisoner who are still eager to prove his worth in his whatever profession. take it or leave it, period.

The single most scarey thing about the Barton case is that at his last trial for the assault his barrister stated his client had a drink addiction.

So we payed Â£5.8 million for an alcoholic ! For god sake I would have thought this was probably common knowledge in football circles in Manchester (as it was with Gazza in Glasgow when at Rangers and at Boro) and since Big Sam was from that area someone would have done some digging BEFORE we signed him. It just smacks of poor research – you need to know how a player looks after himself OFF the pitch as well as how he performs on the pitch.

Daiv, Somewhere down the line we have to break the mould of the endless line of Luques, Duffs, Emre’s et al who have basically stolen huge wages from the club for very little output. If it takes a little while for the hungry talented youngsters to come through then so be it.
I would love to see Lua Lua, Edgar, Kadar etc than any more Smiths, Bartons, Geremi’s etc.

Craig – Cantona had more skill in his little left toe than Barton. Cantona reacted to someone calling his mother a wh…e in a one off situation.
Barton does things over and over and over again and all on the club’s time, money and good name. It’s a much bigger issue than whether in your opinion he is our best holding midfielder. You’re totally missing the point. Our club should not be associated with a chav who is so far up himself and totally removed from any code of decency. Like all bully boys, he is essentially a coward. I am sure we could find someone else at least half as good if not much better. Barton scored a pen at Fulham and 2 assists for Martins, like Smith he is totally expendable. Barton is certainly no world beater, even if he thinks he is.

well lads my sister is a solicter and i have asked her about this situation about three weeks ago, she has seen the cctv pictures at maccy ds and she knows the guy who is the proscuter and she says that the dabo thing she surrounded in grey areas as alot of the other players dont want to get involved, but she said that if she was the proscuter she would be asking for a sentance of a minimum of a year to be added to his current sentance, so if he got that and he behaves himself he would get out around about mid april next year. i really believe that if that happens newcastle will sack him…..

people on here who say we are dumb for not offering 13million for Arda Turan dont have a clue. He aint worth a penny over 11mill, and that is the maximum i would pay for him.

And concerning the modric deal, no one trully knows how much we offered him in wages, but if it is true that we offered 40 to 45k and no more i am happy with that as he is young and unproven in the premier league. Also, it would be foolish to offer him what Andrei Arshavin is currently getting (50k) as there is a big gap in the quality and age of the two players

I say these things despite not being the biggest fan of MA at the moment

geordiegrahem……..so what are you trying to say, ha ha. you not a fan then! Lets not get a knee jerk reaction going and a linch mob though. If he goes we will not replace him with a better footy player, regardless of this incident. Also, there is ALWAYS two sides to every story. i like barton as a player. this next court case is irelevant cos it was hanging over his head when we bought him last year, nowt has changed. No -one should come on here going mad about him after the next court decision, even if he goes down again. this case is old hat, its just taken a long time to come around. I think KK wants to keep Barton too, for exactly the same reasons. That fat fuk ashley will not give us anymore funds to buy a repalcement if he goes – he will just spendthe 60 k a week in the casinos instead. keegan knows this – as must all of us by now, christ. Keegan and us as supporters are better getting behind wor barton. i feel more in tune with him than ashley, we, none of us know what the hell ashley wants out of newcastle and thats a fact.. make us big and sell, make us big and keep, leave us in mid to lower table mediocracy? who knows other than his inner circle. Our boss, the men we follow are keegan and terry mac, they want him, i support keegan. At least we know KK has a black and white heart. Ashley and mort, wise, and all these other f**ng hangers on, they make me puke. they do not care about newcastle, do you not see why we need to keep barton?
